"You would like to invest?" Emily repeated, finding it difficult to understand, or rather believe his words
"Yes... the thing is, I don’t know how much I should invest," his hand raised to his chin as he considered it.
Emily continued to stare at him with curious eyes.
"Maybe I should use everything...?" He mumbled, then his face lit up as an idea struck. "Why don’t I just try to raise the entire money?!"
Her eyes opened wider, then her brows went up. She wanted to say sothing, but she considered that maybe he was just kidding around. The thought of him possibly being serious didn’t even seem possible.
He turned to her, "That would be possible, right? If I decide to raise the entire $50 million?"
There was determination written all over his face, but yet it made no sense to her. She couldn’t tell if this was one big joke from him.
"Yohan, don’t be ridiculous, they are asking for $50 million. How do you expect to raise sothing like that?"
She expected him to laugh and reveal it was all a joke, but he simply just shrugged.
"How hard could it be? If I put up like ten million then..."
Emily cut him off, her voice raising slightly, "Ten million? Where would you get that kind of money?"
"From my account, of course," Yohan scoffed like it was a no-brainer question.
Then he chuckled, "Where else would I get sothing like that?"
"Wait, I could ask Helen to chip in... but that won’t still be enough, except she has like $40 million just sitting in her account."
He knew she was rich, but definitely not rich enough to cover sothing like this on a whim. He might probably even have more money than her.
’I should still ask though. If I present this as an opportunity then she wouldn’t mind giving the money,’ he thought deeply.
Emily was just standing there astonished.
’Is he really being serious?’ she doubted. To think he even had $10 million sitting in his account... she let out a small chuckle, realizing that for a mont she was actually starting to believe, but the truth was that it was just far too absurd.
"Yohan, that’s enough," she sighed, disappointed to think she had been indulging a child all this while.
"Huh, why?" Yohan was too busy in his thoughts that he didn’t even notice her reaction up until now.
"What do you an why? You don’t expect to believe you actually have $10 million sitting in your account."
"But I do. I can show you if you want." He pulled out his phone, opened his account balance, and showed it to her.
"It’s actually $15 million, but I can’t just use everything; I’ll still need so cash at hand." He said casually.
Emily stared at the figures with disbelief; he actually did have that much money.
"But... how?" were the only words that could co out of her mouth.
"Well, let’s just say I invest in the right opportunities—sothing like this..." he touched the piece of paper on the table.
Her eyes followed as thoughts began to flow in.
"Emily, why don’t we do this together? I have a keen eye for things like this and I can assure you that you’ll regret it if you turn this offer down."
She was already considering it after seeing his account balance. She had t people with the natural instinct for these kinds of things—people that created sothing out of nothing.
She knew Yohan’s parents’ inco was barely average, and now he had managed to break through and beco a millionaire. There was no doubt about it; he is a financial prodigy, or as they normally called it, a market wizard.
Normally, market wizards were young, lucky investors that managed to make a few hundred thousand and sotis a million dollars, but Yohan had already gotten past ten.
Whether it was by luck, skill, or simply just his intuition, she could imdiately tell that he was bound to be a money magnet. If he made this much money at such a young age, then this was definitely just the beginning.
Discovering a talent like this was like finding a diamond in the rough, but only if you are willing to take the risk. As a smart business woman, she had to find a way to capitalize on this young genius.
"So you think there is profit to be made in this?" She looked down at the paper with drawings, trying to see if there was anything she missed that made it so attractive for Yohan.
"Yeah, I’m almost certain of it," he said confidently.
Emily looked even harder but still couldn’t see anything that gave her the assurance that this project was going to be a success.
Yet the re fact that Yohan was so sure made it difficult for her to just turn down the idea.
She sighed, "Fine, I’ll do it. I’ll convince our board mbers to invest, but I can’t shoulder all the risk. We’ll have to go fifty-fifty."
Yohan noticed that the way she was speaking to him was now different. There was a level of seriousness in her voice like she had switched into business mode.
He had to match that sa energy and treat this very professionally.
"That ans I’ll have to co up with $25 million on my own?" he asked.
"Yes. Can you handle it?" she replied, her eyes narrowed slightly as she focused on him.
He suspected that this was probably her trying to test his resourcefulness or maybe see if he would back down.
’She’s basically asking how sure I am. In that case...’
"I can get the money, but wouldn’t that an a single individual like would be carrying as much risk as your entire company? Unlike you guys, I’ll be risking it all, so don’t you think I deserve sothing more?"
"Sothing more like what?"
"Hmmm," Yohan wondered. "If this project returns more than your initial capital within the first year, I’ll get to keep thirty percent of all your future profits from the island. This would include any further investnt made on the island."
Emily was amused by the fact that he was actually trying to negotiate with her, but she was more baffled at the thought that he really believed they would earn their initial capital within the first year. That ant a profit of at least $50 million in the first year alone.
’Is he really that confident?’
Yohan stretched out his hand, "What do you say, deal?"
She considered it for a few more seconds before accepting his handshake.
"Deal."
