Chapter 1169: Chapter 684: Ti Waits for No One!

The waiter turned around and noticed his reaction.

Yuan Yang didn’t linger long at the banquet, leaving in a hurry, and began preparing his escape plan overnight.

He knew what it ant to have a neurotoxin potion ant to kill an A-Class or above: it was an assassination event in the power maelstrom!

Qing Chen took the photo, which was a screenshot from a surveillance video at an upper-class banquet. The man in the picture was around thirty, handso, but there was always a sickly feeling to his handsoness.

He sifted through all the clues in his mory and suddenly felt that so things didn’t add up.

However, he didn’t stop him: “Go on.”

Yuan Yang’s widow said, “Yuan Yang lost contact with us after arranging for and our child. He instructed us not to try to contact him; if we did, we would all die together. The next day, I saw Yuan Yang in the bar where I work. At first, I thought everything was fine, and he ca to find . But I felt sothing was off. Yuan Yang had a code with : if it was safe, he would order a Godfather at the bar, but if he was still in danger, and I need to escape the city imdiately, he would order a Moriarty. But that day, Yuan Yang ordered a regular Bloody Mary…”

“I suspected that was no longer the real Yuan Yang, so I didn’t dare approach him. Moreover, that Yuan Yang was strange, his speech a bit chanical, not quite like his usual tone, like he was deliberately mimicking. He might be able to fool others, but not ,” Yuan Yang’s widow said. “But strangely, I later went to observe Yuan Yang’s workplace quietly. I saw him going about his job as if nothing had happened. At that ti, I even resented him, thinking he made up a story to get rid of us. But one day, I watched from afar, and one mont he was there, the next he vanished…”

Qing Chen breathed a sigh of relief; it matched.

In his mory, the Shadow found all the neurotoxin experts, except for the person nad Zhang Cheng, which made him suspect Zhang Cheng was silenced.

If Yuan Yang had already known the inside story, the Shadow should have been able to get sothing out of him.

According to Yuan Yang’s widow’s logic: soone found Yuan Yang to make a neurotoxin potion. Yuan Yang, fearing he would be dragged into the turmoil, refused. Later, Yuan Yang recognized the assassin’s identity, so the assassin ca back to silence him and made a puppet.

The assassin knew Yuan Yang had a mistress, but didn’t know who she was, so he used a puppet to fish along Yuan Yang’s life trajectory.

Fortunately, Yuan Yang’s widow was vigilant, and because she had a code beforehand, she wasn’t fooled.

They could have outright killed Yuan Yang to silence him, but doing so would have led the Shadow along the trail to find Yuan Yang’s mistress.

So, because they didn’t find Yuan Yang’s mistress, they could only fabricate a puppet to continue Yuan Yang’s life as if nothing had happened.

This way, even if the puppet was caught by the Shadow, it would just be a normal neurotoxin expert with nothing unusual.

The Shadow would not continue to dig deeper into Yuan Yang’s line.

Qing Chen was deep in thought. As things stood, he was still skeptical of Yuan Yang’s widow’s statent, but at least he had a new target.

Moreover, this clue… actually reminded him of another thing: Qing Yuan could make puppets.

Given Qing Yuan’s age, he couldn’t be related to this matter.

But what if the person who could create puppets was actually Qing Yuan’s father?

Qing Chen couldn’t draw conclusions yet, but he could start finding people through the photo!

He looked at He Jinqiu: “Thank you.”

“No thanks needed,” He Jinqiu said with a smile. “Fair trade, no deception. I’m on Whale Island. When boss Zheng gives you the Black Eye of Truth, rember to notify .”

Qing Chen sighed: “Okay.”

He called in Xiao San: “Settle this mother and child, let them line up with the residents to leave the city, and have the family over there look after them.”

“Understood,” Xiao San nodded.

Qing Chen called in Chen Zhuoqu: “Did you carry out the inventory I assigned you?”

Chen Zhuoqu tied her hair in a high ponytail, looking particularly neat and tidy: “I did. 99 teams of Ti Travelers, only 42 teams have arrived; 38 teams have had casualties, but because the route planning was good, there have been no significant losses.”

Qing Chen felt a mont of heaviness; surprisingly, 57 teams still hadn’t arrived yet.

At this ti, Xiao San anxiously asked, “Could sothing have happened to all of them?”

“No,” Qing Chen shook his head. “I later set up 7 safe havens along the way for them. If they encounter a roadblock from the mouse plague, they can hide there. Not everyone will be in trouble. Xiao San, I leave this to you, I’m going to bring them back.”

Xiao San was stunned for a mont: “Guardian, you just went through a battle, let us go. I can go with Qing Shuli and lead people, and you can command the battle here.”

Qing Chen shook his head: “You’ve been commanding well; they don’t need here. Besides, only I can rember all the safe havens, and only I can visit them one by one.”

Xiao San beca anxious. In the previous battle, Qing Chen was indeed fierce.

But after the three disasters, Xiao San clearly saw deep fatigue in Qing Chen’s eyes. He had led over 300 refugees on the run for so long, and now, after a major battle, he was probably already at his limits.

57 teams, each with 7 pre-arranged safe havens, if he was unlucky, Qing Chen might have to search through 399 places to find all the teams.

And now, the mouse plague in City 10 had already reached the third stage. Qing Chen might not survive if he returned.

Chen Zhuoqu advised, “I rember all the safe havens. I can take Xiao San and the others.”

Qing Chen was taken aback: “You can rember?”

Chen Zhuoqu explained: “Well, most of them are bank outlets; they’re easy to rember.”

Qing Chen shook his head: “Even if you can rember, you can’t go; you’re too weak.”

Chen Zhuoqu nodded, accepting the reality.

Xiao San spoke from the side: “Guardian, why don’t you rest a bit before you go!”

Qing Chen turned and walked towards the outside of the defensive line: “I’m counting on you here. The mouse plague may return soon. I also want to rest, but those kids from the Ti Traveler’s Academy can’t wait long, ti waits for no one.”

The more than 600 people from Kunlun were still trapped in the city, searching for a clue on his orders.

How could he rest?
