Now reading: Chapter 1716 - 903: Curse of Life and Death, Guardian of Kur from Naming Technique of the Night, a Sci-fi novel by The Speaking Pork Trotter.

The Aerial Fortress standing at 12,000 ters above the sky was like an impregnable island in a blue ocean.

In the food chain, tigers eat sheep, wolves eat rabbits, big fish eat small fish, and small fish eat shrimp.

The Aerial Fortress sits at the top of the food chain, without any natural enemies.

There were so before, but now there are none.

In the darkroom, more than a hundred elite Arbiters, according to the list provided by the Puppet Masters from the Eastern Continent, cast curses one by one.

After Zong Cheng provided enough information, the Arbiters faced only three obstacles in cursing the Parent Association mbers to death:

The first obstacle is the limitation on the number of Arbiters, as casting curses requires ntal willpower; for example, an A-Class can curse about a hundred people a day, which is the limit, and a B-Class can curse fifty.

The second obstacle is the limitation based on the Arbiters’ power level; for example, a small curse causing bad luck can be cast by a B-Class on another B-Class, but if it’s a Curse of Life and Death, a B-Class can only curse a C-Class.

Fortunately, according to Zong Cheng’s intelligence, most of the Parent Association mbers are just C-Class; although the presence of several thousand C-Classes is truly terrifying, such an organization has never existed within the Inner World...

But the issue is, most elite Arbiters in this darkroom are B-Class, with a few A-Class, which is more than enough to curse these Parent Association mbers.

The third obstacle is... pronunciation.

In the darkroom, the Arbiters struggled to pronounce the nas correctly, but their study of Chinese was brief, and they couldn’t fully master it.

"Mo pa gun ta... Mo ta gun pa... Ma le ba ta! rkaba!"

Initially, this was the common effect.

The Duke of Storm City watched as his Arbiters exerted themselves with flushed faces, proving that so tasks cannot be quickly mastered by re effort.

However, he knew this was only a matter of ti. Currently, he let the Arbiters practice on the Parent Association mbers, preparing them for one day to reach the West Continent and be hugely useful.

The Duke of Storm City turned and exited the darkroom, heading to another room.

Four war robots guarded the entrance to that room. In their recognition system, except for the Duke himself, no one was allowed to approach the room.

The alloy gate lifted, and the Duke of Storm City saw the holographic projection in that darkness. The woman was not feeding fish by the stream but was sitting on a cliff, gazing at the distant sunset sinking into the mountains.

The woman’s lips curved with a slight smile.

The Duke of Storm City entered and hesitated, then asked, "You seem to be in a good mood."

"Yes," the woman nodded, "it’s okay."

"Did you encounter sothing worth celebrating, can you share?" the Duke of Storm City asked.

"No," the woman shook her head with a smile, "how does it feel to be here for the first ti since the new Storm was built? By the way, your last plan seed to have failed."

The woman previously ntioned that they had thought about how to begin but had not considered how to end. Unfortunately, her voice was not heard by the Duke of Storm City.

The Duke of Storm City said, "Regardless of the plan’s success or failure, once I inherit the throne, I will have the power to release you."

"Did you seize the throne just to make happy?" the woman inquired curiously. "n always like to attach a na to their ambitions, claiming it’s all for this family, for that woman, making it seem as though they endured so much hardship for a woman. In truth, what supports you to this point is just your ambition."

The Duke of Storm City gazed at the woman on the cliff’s edge.

He grew up without a mother; his father was busy with affairs, and there was no one trustworthy within the clan. He wanted to learn the Arbiter’s legacy, but no one taught him seriously.

Back then, the Duke of Storm City was very lonely... until one day he accidentally entered a darkroom and saw the woman on the holographic projection.

That day, the woman was also feeding fish.

He asked the woman, "What kinds of fish are in the stream?"

The woman patiently answered, "Leather Carp, Red Carp, Mirror Carp."

He asked again, "What are you feeding?"

The woman answered, "Crushed corn; koi are not picky eaters, you can feed them breadcrumbs. Of course, if you want to nurture fry, you can start with cooked egg yolk, soy milk, algae, soft worms..."

That day, the Duke of Storm City, at age six, asked many questions, and the woman never lost her patience, always responding gently to each of his inquiries.

Why are clouds white?

Why is the sea blue?

Why does the Kingdom despise giants?

Why is the woman here?

Until he asked well into midnight, and tired, fell asleep, refusing to leave.

She was the first person in his life who treated him so kindly; upon waking on the cold floor the next day, the Duke of Storm City suddenly asked her, "Do you know how to cultivate the Arbiter’s legacy?"

The woman smiled and replied, "Yes."

It seems that from that day on, the Duke of Storm City’s entire childhood was filled with this mother-like woman.

But as he grew up, the woman showed no signs of aging, and complex and intertwined emotions began to arise within him.

Few people know that the Duke of Storm City, aside from having the necessary offspring with his wife, never touched another woman again.

That long-suppressed desire gradually turned into a different kind of pleasure in tornting others.
