The evening in New York Downtown is incredibly bustling, having already been transford by the Kingdom organization. The night sky is filled with holographic neon, reminiscent of the Inner World.
Zheng Yuandong and Qing Chen were walking on the streets when suddenly soone passed by Qing Chen amidst the chaotic neon lights.
After the shadows crossed each other’s paths, Qing Chen found a small piece of paper in his hand.
He opened it and glanced at it; after confirming the contents, he crushed it with his fingers.
"We’re here," Zheng Yuandong said, looking at a manhole cover.
"Is it down there?" Qing Chen asked.
"Yes," Zheng Yuandong replied thoughtfully, "Back then, He Jinqiu joined us in a surprise attack on the Kingdom headquarters. He rcilessly buried deceased Transcendents in the underground tunnels to feed the entire sewer system, intending to biologically pollute New York. Although the Transcendents he buried weren’t of a high level, recently New York has seen frequent incidents of rats and insects hurting people."
Zheng Yuandong: "When He Jinqiu returned for the last ti, he entrusted with handling this situation. He said he was blinded by murderous intent at the ti, and although we were in an adversarial state, implicating millions of citizens in a city was unbearably cruel. At the entrance of a villa in the New York suburbs, King opened the door discreetly, wearing a hood.
This once radiant leader of the Kingdom organization now appeared as humble as any ordinary neighborhood white boy; people would even believe if he claid to be just a college student.
After disbanding the Kingdom organization, King didn’t flee like other mbers but stayed here instead.
He went against the grain.
While opening the door, he cautiously checked the surroundings to confirm that no one was following before entering the passcode.
King closed the door, ensured the lock hadn’t been tampered with or pried open, then breathed a sigh of relief.
Yet, before he could be wholly reassured, he swiftly sensed from instinct that soone in the darkness was staring at him. The person was sitting on a single sofa by the window, smiling broadly in his direction.
King had no desire for a confrontation; his first instinct was to retreat, but then he realized a shadow had appeared unbeknownst to him, trapping him inside the room.
"You weren’t as hard to find as you imagined," Qing Chen said from the sofa.
From behind King, Zheng Yuandong calmly said, "Have a seat; let’s talk."
King took a deep breath. "It’s an honor to be visited by two Demigods."
He had already abandoned hope. Two Demigods, a Demi God Knight and a Demigod Wizard, teaming up against one A-Class—this is simply inglorious!
Have they no sha?
Throughout the Inner World, there’s hardly ever a group of Demigods traveling together. Yet these two from the Eastern Continent observe no rules at all.
Facing one, he might still manage to conjure so strategy or have a slim chance of escape. Facing both, there’s utterly no chance of escaping.
In the darkness, Qing Chen looked at King, "Place your Eye of Truth on the coffee table, or I’ll take it from your corpse myself later."
In truth, Qing Chen needed the Black Eye of Truth because it’s one of the essential conditions for the path to becoming a god. When his spiritual will begins to rge with the world’s will, he needs to temporarily store his spiritual will within.
The reason he generously exchanged the Black Knife with Boss Zheng is that he knows where another one is hidden.
Now, all three Black Eyes of Truth have been accounted for: Qing Chen, Yan Liuyuan, and Zheng Yuandong.
King obediently took out the Eye of Truth, his face darkening as he asked, "Which one of my people betrayed ?"
Qing Chen asked, "It’s not quite betrayal; you’ve always had Black Spider’s informants around you."
Now, with Black Spider settled in City No. 10, she has fully handed over her intelligence network. The web is neither too big nor too small, just enough for use.
Qing Chen asked, "The informant said you’ve seen the Puppet Master, and this Puppet Master inford you that I lured Chen Yu to Taboo Land No. 001 to buy ti for the Chen Clan leader to seize power?"
King nodded and said, "Yes."
Zheng Yuandong looked at Qing Chen, "Not many people know about this, and all have been bound by the secret-keeping spell."
