Those exhausted soldiers wished they could keep up with the team, to see what miracle Qing Chen Inspector would bring them, but they couldn’t see it.

Li Cheng and Qing Ling dared not look at those fallen soldiers anymore; they had little ti and could only keep moving forward.

The implication being, Qing Chen might have died.
Soone said, “How about we go north again? Maybe a few people can survive this snowfield. Another month until spring; so will make it.”
Li Cheng shook his head, “My orders were to arrive here; the military command didn’t tell us to go elsewhere.”
“But…” soone wanted to argue, “But we’re already here; there’s nothing here; we can’t just wait to die.”
