Tsunade strode onto the stage with a commanding presence, exuding the aura of a true leader. It was precisely this deanor that made the ninjas below look up to her as if she were an idol. However, their expressions changed noticeably when they turned their gaze to Yoruha.
Apart from a few of Yamato's subordinates and so female ninjas, most of the ANBU mbers didn't hold Yoruha in high regard. They believed he only beca the leader of the ANBU because of his connection with Tsunade. So even speculated about an ambiguous relationship between Yoruha and Tsunade.
Despite Tsunade being over fifty, thanks to the Hundred Healings Technique, she maintained the appearance of a stunning beauty—fair-skinned, attractive, with a great figure, formidable strength, and the title of Hokage.
She was the epito of a goddess. Similarly, Yoruha, though many were reluctant to admit it, was undeniably handso—the most attractive man in the entire Konoha Village, a fact no one could dispute. He was also a Jonin personally appointed by the Third Hokage, suggesting he possessed sufficient Jonin-level strength.
In addition to being Konoha's top dical ninja, Yoruha's various roles made him quite impressive. However, the ANBU was a crucial departnt, and they were hesitant to accept Yoruha as their leader.
He was too young, and as Tsunade's bodyguard, he hadn't undertaken any high-difficulty missions in recent years or demonstrated overwhelming strength. He was virtually unknown in the ninja world.
If Sasuke were appointed as the ANBU leader today, no one would object, given his formidable reputation in the ninja world, which signified his capability to lead the ANBU. But Yoruha's obscurity over the years made it hard for people to believe he could manage the ANBU effectively.
Once Tsunade took the stage, she spoke with a serious expression, "I've chosen an excellent leader for you. With him, the ANBU will beco the sharpest blade of Konoha Village. I trust no one will doubt this."
Her words left those who had been skeptical of Yoruha feeling awkward. Although they indeed looked down on Yoruha, Tsunade's statent left them with no room to voice their opinions. After Tsunade finished speaking, Yamato led the applause.
The conference hall erupted into enthusiastic clapping. Yoruha smiled, acknowledging Tsunade's high standing. He could clearly see that these ninjas didn't think much of him, but out of respect for Tsunade, they restrained their disdainful glances.
Standing beside Yoruha, Shizune whispered, "Don't worry, the ANBU respects strength. Once they see your abilities, they'll know what to do." Yoruha nodded, "I'm well aware of that." After Tsunade finished speaking, she brought Yoruha up to say a few words.
Yoruha exchanged a few pleasantries and concluded his speech. He wasn't interested in wasting words, and he certainly didn't care about the ANBU mbers' opinions of him. In truth, he didn't want to take over the ANBU; if not for the fear of angering Tsunade, he would have gladly handed the ANBU over to Yamato.
After spending so ti with the ANBU, Tsunade left, leaving Yoruha behind. Once Tsunade was gone, Yamato approached him.
"One day, you'll beco the leader of the Anbu. Don't worry, with you here, the Anbu will definitely grow incredibly strong." Yoruha looked at the approaching group of ninjas and said, "It might not be that simple." These individuals were Jonin of the Anbu, and even within the Anbu, Jonin were few and far between.
After all, Jonin are among the top-tier combat forces, even in the Five Great Ninja Villages. In villages of such caliber, the number of Jonin is only a few dozen, sotis not even reaching a hundred. Most are actually Chunin or Genin, with Special Jonin being quite rare.
Within the Anbu, there were only a few Jonin, and all of them were captains of their respective squads. As they approached, their expressions were less than pleasant. It was hard for them to accept taking orders from a teenager who seed to have beco the Anbu leader through connections. If not for their respect for Tsunade, they would have already made things difficult for Yoruha.
The group arrived and looked at Yoruha. Despite their reluctance, they said, "Captain Yoruha, we'll follow your orders from now on. Please take care of us." Yoruha smiled, "It's you seniors who should take care of ." They all breathed a sigh of relief.
At least Yoruha wasn't arrogant. Their biggest fear was that Tsunade had placed an arrogant person in charge, soone who lacked skills but enjoyed making false reports to Tsunade to slander them.
Even if Yoruha might not have much skill, as long as he didn't cause trouble, they were willing to maintain a facade of civility. One of the Jonin couldn't help but ask, "Captain Yoruha, I heard you were promoted to Jonin by the Third Hokage himself. It seems your skills are quite formidable to have earned his recognition." The other Jonin glanced at this one, frowning slightly.
On the surface, this seed like praise for Yoruha, but it was actually questioning his abilities. Although they also looked down on Yoruha, they were unwilling to tear apart the veneer of politeness. Hence, they were sowhat displeased with their colleague's behavior.
Before Yoruha could respond, Yamato, standing nearby, answered on his behalf, "Of course. It's because the Third Hokage personally assessed Yoruha's abilities that he was promoted to Jonin. At the ti, I was there with Kakashi." Clearly, as an Anbu captain, Yamato was openly supporting Yoruha.
This left the questioning Jonin feeling a bit awkward. Perhaps due to Yamato's public support, this Jonin retorted, "It seems Captain Yoruha was once Kakashi's student?" This comnt was a veiled jab at Yamato, suggesting he was praising Yoruha because of Kakashi.
Sensing the tension between the two, the other Anbu Jonin quickly said, "Captain Yoruha is a ninja recognized by even the Third Hokage, and in recent years, he's earned the trust of the Fifth Hokage. As the leader of our Anbu, he will surely help the Anbu develop far better than before." T
he Jonin who had spoken earlier added, "Yes, but the Anbu will undertake many dangerous missions in the future. Although Captain Yoruha is strong, it's best not to take unnecessary risks." Yamato frowned, ready to say sothing.
But Yoruha had grown impatient. Suddenly, a terrifying surge of chakra erupted from within him. "Boom!" "Crack, crack, crack..."
The explosion of chakra increased the pressure in the entire eting hall, causing cracks to appear on the floor and walls. Centered around Yoruha, dozens of long fissures spread out from beneath his feet. This terrifying chakra was even more formidable than that of Hashirama.
Yoruha didn't want to waste words with this person or explain anything. Demonstrating his strength was enough to silence him. Talking too much was pointless.
