"I didn’t expect this forest training to be so drawn out. And it’s not really training; it’s more like a competition.
Who knows what else awaits us at the end!" Hiroshi thought as he led Harumiko and the others.
Hiroshi and his team were searching for Itachi Uchiha’s team, and vice versa. Both teams wanted to end the competition quickly.
"Strange. Since the last ti, almost three years ago, this forest feels much larger. Many things are completely different. Is it just my imagination?" Hiroshi wondered as he walked.
"No, it’s not my imagination. The forest has gotten bigger. Maybe the school expanded it. But if that’s true, this forest is incredibly huge. So many people inside, and we barely see anyone!" Hiroshi thought.
This competition, organized by the teachers, wasn’t part of the regular curriculum. The Hokage, Hiroshi’s adoptive father, Minato Namikaze, wanted to identify exceptionally strong students for early graduation into ANBU.
"How’s the situation at the academy?"
Minato Namikaze, sitting in his Hokage office, smiled at the ANBU ninja before him.
"Reporting to the Hokage-sama. The competition is down to the final two teams. One is led by Uzumaki Hiroshi, and the other by Uchiha Itachi," the ANBU ninja quickly reported.
Minato nodded, smiling. "Only two teams left. I wonder which team will win! I’m really looking forward to it!"
"You may go," Minato said, smiling.
The ANBU ninja instantly disappeared.
Hiroshi, you really do surprise . Let’s see if you can win this competition, Minato thought, turning to look out the window.
Hiroshi and Itachi’s teams were getting closer; a confrontation was imminent.
"Everyone, be careful. I sense hostility. They must be nearby. Be vigilant; they’re incredibly strong!"
Hiroshi suddenly felt an unusual presence and quickly whispered to his team.
Harumiko and the others nodded, raising their guard.
Itachi Uchiha, Itachi Uchiha. The mont has finally arrived. You’ve made wait long enough, Hiroshi thought, a smile on his face.
If not for this mission, Hiroshi would have preferred to avoid a confrontation with Itachi forever.
Itachi Uchiha was a genius with imnse power, known throughout the village. And not just the village; everyone who watched Naruto knew how formidable Itachi was.
