"Hiroshi, go get ’em!" Harumiko shouted from a distance, making a cheering gesture.
Seeing Harumiko’s gesture, Hiroshi felt a wave of helplessness but shook his head, turning back to the rustling bushes.
"Forget it. I’ll check it out. They’re just scaredy-cats! Or maybe it’s because I’m so strong!" Hiroshi chuckled, drawing his weapon.
"Alright, whatever you are, I’m not afraid. Let’s see what you are!" Hiroshi felt a twinge of fear; it was getting dark.
But he had to appear brave in front of the girl he liked; how else would he reassure her? He took a deep breath.
Hiroshi slowly approached the bushes, crouched down, holding his weapon in one hand and pushing aside the leaves with the other.
"Wow! It’s this! I can’t believe it! This little thing scared us all? You’re amazing!" Hiroshi whispered, seeing what was in the bushes.
He looked again, then slowly stood and walked toward Harumiko and the others.
"Look, Hiroshi’s coming out! Was there nothing there? I’m so curious!" Harumiko had been watching Hiroshi intently.
"He’s coming this way. Was there really nothing there? No, we definitely heard sothing moving, and the bushes were shaking!" Rai said nervously, holding his sister’s hand tightly.
Hiroshi saw their nervous expressions from afar and tried to suppress his smile.
To be honest, I was a little scared too, but it’s okay now. It wasn’t anything scary! Those things are actually pretty cute. Let’s scare them a little! Hiroshi thought, a mischievous smile forming.
Hiroshi slowly approached Harumiko and the others, a suspicious smile on his face.
"Hiroshi, what was it? Was there anything there?" Harumiko asked, noticing his suspicious smile.
Hiroshi nodded, smiling.
"Hiroshi, was there really sothing there? What was it? Tell us! We’re so curious!" Rai, his curiosity piqued, urged Hiroshi.
"So you three are curious? Why don’t you go check it out yourselves?" Hiroshi said, smiling.
The three of them were speechless.
