Harumiko blushed at Hiroshi’s unexpected confession. Completely flustered, she quietly entered the classroom.
They sat together, a fact that enraged many boys. Their goddess was sitting with a forr underachiever—a truly infuriating sight.
"Wow, what’s going on? How am I going to survive this? I’ve made so many enemies!" Hiroshi said, smiling at Harumiko, aware of the hostile stares directed at them.
Harumiko chuckled. "It’s fine. I don’t like most of them anyway. Don’t worry about it."
Hiroshi glanced at Harumiko’s face.
Wow, what a stunning beauty! No wonder so many people like her, he thought.
"Ding! Host has successfully attracted hostility. Mission issued: Show everyone your strength today and prove yourself!"
"Ding! Mission completion reward: 1000 gold coins and an orange-grade weapon."
Hiroshi was slightly exasperated; the system’s timing was impeccable.
"System, you’re so tily! Issuing a mission now! Perfect timing. Well, I was planning to show off my strength anyway. I’ll let those bullies see what I can do and show those who like Harumiko what I’m capable of!" he muttered to himself.
Harumiko, hearing his mumbling, turned and patted his shoulder. "Hiroshi, what are you mumbling about?"
Hiroshi smiled. "Nothing. I just think you’re incredibly cute and beautiful! I could stare at you forever."
Harumiko was flustered and speechless.
Her face flushed crimson at his words. She turned away, her heart pounding.
"Hiroshi, you’re so annoying! I don’t know what to say... Am I really that pretty?" she mumbled, avoiding his gaze. Even a glance would send her heart racing.
Hiroshi smiled. "Of course, I wouldn’t lie about that. Besides, I really like you. You’re adorable, and you’re the one I want to protect for the rest of my life!"
Harumiko blushed even more intensely.
