As he spoke, blue chakra burst out from Madara's body as well.
He was clearly preparing to use Susanoo too.
Fugaku glanced back once at the village behind him.
Then he looked at Madara again, and the resolve in his eyes only hardened.

At that mont, a group of people had gathered at the entrance to the village.
In the distance, two enormous translucent giants rose into view, one crimson and one blue.
With a thunderous roar, the two Susanoo clashed head-on.

Ōnoki, standing beside him, imdiately sneered.
"Ai, know your limits for once. I've seen Uchiha Madara before. With your strength, you're nowhere near enough for him."
"Ōnoki, you old fossil, sounds to like you're just scared."
"Enough. Stop arguing."
The instant Minato spoke, both of them fell silent.
Inside this illusionary world, with Namikaze Kirito absent, Namikaze Minato was the one in command. No one present would openly challenge his authority.
Minato turned his gaze toward the distant clash between the crimson and blue Susanoo.
Then he ordered Yakushi Kabuto to remain behind and lead the shinobi stationed at the village entrance.

Madara's figure was sent flying out of it.
In the end, it was simply because he had underestimated his opponents.
As an Edo Tensei body, Madara possessed effectively limitless chakra. If he had chosen to pour more chakra into reinforcing his Susanoo, it would not have been broken so easily.
And more importantly, he had not even used the complete humanoid form of Susanoo.
Because in his eyes, Uchiha Fugaku simply wasn't worthy of it.
What Madara didn't know was that it wasn't because Fugaku didn't want to use that level of power.
He simply couldn't afford to.
His only goal was to pin Madara here.
Both of them possessed the Sharingan, and both of them were capable of taking Susanoo to its final form.
But that would require an enormous amount of chakra.
If Fugaku exhausted himself too early before reinforcents arrived, then who would stop Madara from turning around and rampaging through the village?
And just as Fugaku had hoped, Madara acted exactly according to that expectation.
With Madara's pride, if his opponent didn't use the higher form of Susanoo, then he had no intention of using it either.
That pride created the opening Minato and the others had been waiting for.
The mont Madara was forced out of Susanoo, Minato's eyes flashed.
In an instant, he appeared directly behind him.
At the exact mont Susanoo had broken, Minato had already placed the Flying Thunder God seal on Madara's back.
"Wind Release: Rasengan!"
A dazzling white light flooded Madara's vision.
If he took this head-on, Minato would most likely follow it up with a sealing jutsu imdiately.
So in that instant, Madara's blood-red eye began to shift.
Ripples spread across it.
The purple Rinnegan erged once more.
"…What?"
Minato's expression changed slightly.
He suddenly felt the wind-infused Rasengan in his hand being absorbed away.
His instincts scread at him.
Without a second of hesitation, his figure vanished instantly, reappearing beside his allies.
Madara stood not far away, looking at them with cold pride.
"Heh… good reflexes," he said. "That was the right choice. If you had hesitated for even a mont longer, I would've drained every bit of chakra from your body."
"Just as I thought…" Minato murmured.
He looked at the Rinnegan in Madara's eye socket, but there was no real surprise in his face.
His son had already told him about this ability.
It seed that in the mont of danger, the power of the Rinnegan had activated directly, preventing Madara from being sealed.
