"Oh no, my eyes! I can't see anything!"

"Quickly, close your eyes! Don't look at the sky!"

Within the circular valley, hundreds of Konoha ninjas instantly beca blind with their eyes wide open. And that was not the end of it.

Swiftly, the genjutsu descended, causing everyone's desire to battle to skyrocket, which quickly began to impair their judgnt.

The genjutsu Breath of Euphoria was an ability Abura Shisui had used once before during his battle against Orochimaru, though it was incomplete at the ti. Now, while it was far more difficult to execute, its effects were terrifyingly potent.

It was not a pure genjutsu, nor was it a pure poison; it was a colorless, odorless, shapeless blend of toxins and chakra. This specialized chakra-infused poison entered the body through breathing, directly targeting the nervous system and adrenaline production.

Those caught in the technique would grow increasingly ecstatic, frantic, and eventually lose all rationality.

And if one happened to be in the middle of a battlefield, there was only one possible outco.

Inside the Ring Valley, the Konoha ninjas who had inhaled the Breath of Euphoria showed reddening eyes after about half a minute of incubation. This was not the crimson of the Sharingan, but a bloodshot redness born of congestion.

Yet, their pupils remained dull and lifeless; they were clearly still blind.

"Kill!"

A Chunin suddenly snapped, driving a kunai into the comrade beside him. In truth, he couldn't even be sure if it was an ally; he rely felt danger approaching. Completely blinded, he had beco a total captive to his instincts.

"Are you insane!?" His companion was slightly stronger and had only just entered the euphoric state, retaining a shred of reason to recognize that the attacker was a compromised teammate.

But at most, he could only recognize this single teammate; he could no longer distinguish the other Konoha ninjas. Soon, a lethal intent struck from behind, forcing him to fight back to protect himself.

Just like that, a comrade died by his hand, covering him in spraying blood.

"Don't move! Stay where you are!" a Jonin roared, his hands rapidly weaving signs to cast a Genjutsu Release.

But it was entirely useless, and no one listened.

The weaker ninjas caught in the Breath of Euphoria were left with nothing but the urge to slaughter, unable to distinguish friend from foe or tell directions.

anwhile, those who were less affected had no choice but to strike back in self-defense.

Of course, there was an even more critical factor: a portion of the Grass ninjas had also been affected, but for so reason, they seed to have prepared their eyes in advance. They were not blind—or at least not completely blind—and could still make out blurry shapes.

Anger, revenge, and euphoria stacked together, maxing out their status buffs and causing their combat power to skyrocket. Instantly, the battlefield devolved into utter chaos.

Amidst the turmoil, more individuals lost control of their willpower as they inhaled greater amounts of the mist, joining the frantic madness.

Standing in the middle of the chaotic army, Uchiha Fugaku's Sharingan spun rapidly. A large amount of blood rushed to his eyes, washing away the scale powder and quickly freeing him from the blindness.

At that mont, he felt the bizarre aura invading his body, trying to stir his emotions, but he used his ocular power to forcefully suppress it.

"Uchiha clansn, gather around !" he barked sharply.

It had to be said that the Uchiha clan's resistance to genjutsu was incredibly high. Even though their bodies remained hyper-stimulated, many clansn regained their senses with Fugaku's help, gradually suppressing the aggressive restlessness in their hearts to gather around him.

However, the Seven-Tails' scale powder was not to be underestimated; it had already worked its way into their eyes, and even a three-tomoe Sharingan could not grant total immunity.

Before long, over a dozen Uchiha gathered by his side. Fugaku instructed them to forcefully push their Sharingan to wash the scale powder off their pupils with the blood overflowing from their eyes.

The clansn did as instructed, but many who lacked sufficient strength still failed to recover their vision, their sight remaining entirely grey.

"Lord Fugaku, I still can't see!"

"Are we going blind!?"

An Uchiha gripped his eyes, his expression twisted in pain. His eyes were his pride, and now that pride was being thoroughly crushed.

"Don't overthink it, the effect is only temporary. You will recover soon."

But Uchiha Fugaku did not know that while the initial blindness might have been temporary, their forced manipulation made it permanent for so. Those who could recover had already done so, suffering at most a minor drop in visual acuity later on.

But for those who failed to recover, the scale powder had hitched a ride on the flowing blood to invade the small wounds in their eyes, making the situation worse by the second. If left untreated, they could face permanent partial or total blindness.

Right then, the sound of vibrating wings echoed from the sky once more. Uchiha Fugaku looked up.

There, a massive insect slowly flapped its wings, its golden compound eyes looking down upon the field: the Seven-Tails, Choi.

Around it, nearly a hundred figures were circling.

These figures either rode giant dragonflies or had fused with them, growing a pair of translucent wings on their backs to dart through the air like hunting birds.

"Flying ninjas, giant dragonfly-type summoning beasts..." Uchiha Fugaku muttered. He finally understood what the Grass Village's true trump card was.

Unnoticed by most, Abura Shisui—using the codena Shiraki—had already appeared on the back of the Seven-Tails. As it turned out, the one casting genjutsu from within the valley had never been his real body.

"Rescue our people," Shiraki said plainly, looking down at the chaotic battlefield below. Beside him, the Seven-Tails continued to scatter her scale powder continuously.

Upon receiving the order, the hundreds of Dragonfly Users dived down, scooping up the Grass ninjas who had broken away from the front lines and still retained their sanity.

These Grass ninjas had consud the insect soup, allowing a portion of them to beco immune to the informational toxins. Furthermore, Shiraki had intentionally avoided them while casting his technique, so very few were actually caught in the genjutsu.

"It's the Military Advisor! We are saved!"

The rescued Grass ninjas collapsed onto the backs of the dragonflies, weeping tears of joy. In the end, sixty-seven people were successfully pulled out.

As for the remaining forty-odd people, they had either already died in battle or had fallen completely into madness. Reduced to a semi-blind state, they trusted no one but themselves, killing anyone who ca near.

But nothing could be done about that; they could only bla their bodies' poor absorption of the dicine, which had failed to build an immunity, or their weak resistance to genjutsu, which left them entangled despite not being targeted.

"Retreat," Shiraki ordered once more.

The Dragonfly Users carried the rescued Grass ninjas, soaring back into the high skies. On the battlefield below, only the frantic Konoha ninjas and the few elites struggling to maintain their sanity remained.

Uchiha Fugaku stood expressionless, watching the Dragonfly Users carry the Grass ninjas away, completely powerless to stop them.

Those flying enemies were far too troubleso—their speed was too fast, and their position was too high for him to reach.

"Lord Fugaku, let's fall back!" an Uchiha urged.

Uchiha Fugaku remained silent, looking at the frantic Konoha ninjas and the Jonin who were being pinned down by their own allies.

Finally, hardening his heart, he waved his hand: "Retreat!"
