Minamichi moved with the efficiency of a guillotine.

He personally liquidated several strongholds of mountain bandits and roving rcenaries, packing their remains into wooden crates to be shipped back.

However, as ti passed, the logistics beca grueso; the corpses would rot, and while the insects were not picky eaters, the nutritional value of decayed flesh was significantly lower than that of fresh energy.

To ensure a steady growth of biomass, Shisui dispatched a Shadow Clone. The clone slipped through Takigakure's barrier and t Minamichi in the field to personally instruct him in the use of sealing scrolls—all of which Shisui had hand-crafted.

Back in the village, Shisui's days were deceptively idle. Aside from his daily hour of physical and ninjutsu maintenance, his ti was spent on patrol, napping, gardening, or fishing in the pond.

He had hoped to embrace the quiet life, but the shinobi world offered precious little entertainnt for a restless mind.

In those "idle" hours, he delved deeper into Fūinjutsu. The sealing scrolls he produced during this period were more than just tools for moving corpses; they were masterpieces of efficiency.

Under the clone's guidance, Minamichi mastered the scrolls quickly. But the clone didn't stop there.

Over the following days, it drilled Minamichi's subordinates in practical applications of the Three Basic Jutsu, Body Flicker, and a selection of utilitarian Genjutsu and Sealing arts.

Most were D-rank, but they were "Shisui-modified"—simplified for ease of learning but optimized for lethal practicality.

Against a standard Jonin, these techniques were potent enough to be dangerous; against an elite, they were at least an effective distraction.

After three days, the clone—running low on chakra—gave Minamichi a final piece of advice: "If you work alone, how long will it take to purge the entire country of spies and bandits? With your strength, you should recruit.

Build an organization. As for funding, don't worry—go to Heiji. He will provide everything you need."

"Does the Lord not wish to leave more insect eggs?" Minamichi asked.

"No." Shisui had no intention of overcomplicating his control. Ten people had been implanted, and only five knew his true face. That was enough.

"But what of their loyalty?"

"I don't need their loyalty," the clone replied as it began to flicker. "I need you to use the insects within you. They have reached maturity; they are sensitive to high-level energy. Use them to monitor for subversion and to guard against spies."

With those words, the clone vanished. Shisui trusted Minamichi to handle the internal politics of the new group.

Three months passed. The sweltering heat of sumr faded, giving way to the crisp air of autumn.

Takigakure had beco a fortress of isolation. Entry and exit were strictly forbidden. Most ninjas who were out on mission had returned; those who hadn't were officially declared dead or rogue.

anwhile, the new Leader of Takigakure was being bombarded with letters from the Daimyo of the Land of Waterfalls and local nobles.

The reason was a new, formidable organization that had erged a few nights prior: The Daodao Community.

Composed mostly of wandering samurai and ronin, the group had begun spreading chakra cultivation thods among its ranks.

They taught basic Taijutsu, Kenjutsu, and the Three Basic Jutsu. More surprisingly, they held regular study sessions covering politics, economics, and military strategy—standard "Art of War" knowledge.

Under the banner of "clearing bandits and rooting out foreign spies," they had systematically crushed local gangs and seized their assets.

This left the local gentry, city lords, and nobles in agony. The reason was simple: when the "bandits" (who often served as unofficial muscle for the rich) were wiped out, the nobles lost their leverage.

The nobility attempted to raise private armies and hire samurai to suppress them. Initially, they saw success, breaking the group's ranks.

But the Daodao Community adapted with terrifying speed, displaying a level of discipline and organization unheard of for "rabble."

When Minamichi personally stepped onto the battlefield and executed the elite ninjas raised by the Daimyo's estate, the ruling class panicked. They turned to the long-ignored Takigakure, offering gold and grain—whatever it took—to have the village send its ninjas to exterminate this "vicious organization."

Inside Takigakure, the ninjas were restless. With the village sealed, Shisui, Naoto, and the others spent their days essentially wandering in circles under the guise of "D-rank patrols."

To keep the peace and prevent the idle ninjas from causing trouble, the Four Elders had resorted to assigning mundane tasks: patrolling, building houses, weeding fields, and picking up trash. Work that should have been done by commoners was now being handled by killing machines.

Shisui knew this wasn't sustainable. The high-level officials knew it too. They were stalling, trying to avoid being sucked into the white-hot war raging outside their borders.

But the Daimyo's constant appeals and the promise of wealth were starting to stir the pot.

"Elders! We may not want to join the world war, but we cannot ignore our own Daimyo's request!"

"Exactly! That's eighty million Ryo! That's enough to buy armor, weapons, and supplies for everyone. We can improve our strength and our lives!"

In the grand eting hall, over a dozen Jonin were arguing fiercely.

At the head of the table, the Four Elders were sweating profusely. They looked as if they were facing a firing squad. Just last night, they had received a secret "order" that they were to prevent the village from mobilizing at all costs.

Why? Who knew. But the Elders suspected the truth: the "Daodao Community" ravaging the countryside was likely just another limb of the monster that held their lives in his hands.
