In a tavern on the streets of Tanzaku Quarters, Tsunade sat at a central table. She tilted the last drop of sake into her throat and slamd the cup down with a heavy thud.

"Lost again."

This round hadn't just drained her traveling funds; she now owed the gambling den over a million ryo in high-interest loans.

The parlor owner stood nearby, clutching the IOU and rubbing his hands together. He could tell the legendary Sannin was ill at ease—it wasn't just bad luck; she seed completely preoccupied.

"Lady Tsunade, do you wish to continue?" he asked tentatively. "If so... I'm afraid our credit limit for you has reached its maximum, so..."

"I know, I know!" Tsunade waved him off impatiently. She pushed herself up from the table, her body swaying slightly.

It wasn't drunkenness. It was psychological exhaustion. The shadows of the war and the death of her brother, Nawaki, clung to her like a second skin, impossible to shake no matter where she wandered.

The mangled bodies, the glazed eyes, the endless rows of stretchers outside dical tents—even far from the front lines, she saw them every ti she closed her eyes.

The gambling den clearly wanted her out, and she had no more collateral to play with anyway. She shook her head to clear the intrusive mories, tossed the empty bottle aside, and walked out into the cool air.

The sake was gone; she needed a drink. The money was gone; she needed a score.

As she crossed the street, her eyes caught a newly opened shinobi tool shop. It was unassuming, with a sign that read Exotic Goods of the Shinobi World.

The window displayed a sparse collection of kunai, shuriken, and explosive tags, alongside several rows of plain paper bags containing dicinal pills.

"Exotic goods? Probably just more boring tricks to swindle people."

As a Princess of the Senju and a veteran of the Great War, she had seen every "miracle" tool imaginable. To her, they were mostly toys; a real ninja relied on the four staples: kunai, shuriken, food pills, and tags.

She intended to walk past, but sothing gave her pause. A hand-written label next to a bag of pills caught her eye: [High-Potency Food Pills: Takigakure Secret Formula. Rapidly restores physical strength and chakra.]

Takigakure?

Tsunade narrowed her eyes. She knew the standard formulas for every major village: Konoha's focused on high calories and nutrition; Kumo's relied on stimulants to push physical limits; Suna's often contained herbs to sharpen focus.

But a secret formula from the Land of Waterfalls? That secluded little country known for its giant trees and isolation?

Driven by a sudden whim, she stepped inside and picked up a bag. The shopkeeper, a common-looking rchant, brightened imdiately upon recognizing one of the Sannin.

"My Lady! We just received this shipnt. The quality is—"

Tsunade ignored him, weighing the bag in her hand. It was light. Inside were five dark pills, slightly smaller than standard military rations, emitting a peculiar, fresh scent of herbs and damp earth.

She scraped a tiny bit of powder off with her fingernail, rubbed it between her pads, and brought it to her nose. Her brow furrowed, then smoothed out as a flash of genuine disbelief crossed her eyes.

The ingredients weren't just standard fillers. She identified extracts from rare fungi known for extre cellular activation and energy conduction, along with several protective herbs. But there were two or three ingredients she couldn't place at all.

Without thinking, she moved to buy them, only to find her pockets entirely empty.

"Put it on my tab," she grunted. "If you ever fall ill, consider your one-ti physician."

Before the rchant could protest, she popped a pill into her mouth.

The taste was surprisingly pleasant compared to the chalky bitterness of standard rations, and it provided an imdiate sense of satiety.

But more importantly, while most food pills squeezed the body's reserves to wring out chakra, this one felt as though it was slowly replenishing cellular depletion.

The effect was subtle, but as the world's premier dical ninja, her perception was peerless.

This formula was sophisticated. It wasn't sothing the traditional Takigakure could produce. The pharmacological logic and refining techniques were closer to Konoha's level—perhaps even more advanced in its use of raw materials.

If... if Konoha's ninjas had these during the war, how many lives could have been saved? How many wouldn't have collapsed from exhaustion?

The thought flickered for a second before a wave of self-loathing washed over her. Why was she still thinking like a soldier? Why was she calculating benefits for a village that had taken everything from her?

She put the bag down and scoffed internally. She wasn't the Hokage; why should she care? War was war.

She just wanted it to end. Perhaps if she could build a global dical system, she could at least ensure fewer people died in the next one.

A figure flickered into existence beside her, kneeling. It was a Konoha ssenger.

"Lady Tsunade, an urgent order from the Hokage. You are requested back at the village imdiately for a Jonin Council eting."

"Fine. How annoying—returning to a eting right after losing all my money."

Konoha Council Chambers

The long conference table was packed with the elite of the village. New faces mingled with veterans, many still bearing the scars and weariness of the front lines.

As Tsunade took her seat, Hiruzen Sarutobi scanned the room. "Orochimaru. Where is Jiraiya?"

Orochimaru offered a faint, thin smile. "I couldn't say. Likely off teaching his so-called 'Child of Prophecy.'"

The ntion sparked a wave of hushed murmurs among the Jonin. Elder Koharu, sitting to the left, slapped the table in anger. "Hmph! Abandoning the village for a damn fairy tale. Hiruzen, this is the 'prize student' you raised."

"He is being willful, it seems," Hiruzen replied calmly, effectively ending the debate. "No matter. Even if he cannot attend, we shall begin."

The first half of the eting was standard procedure: post-war summaries, pointing out tactical errors, and highlighting systemic flaws that were rarely fixed.

Then ca the somber part: the reading of nas for comndations and the list of the fallen. Quiet sighs echoed through the room as familiar nas were struck from the active roster.

The second half, however, was where the real tension lay. This was about the future.

The war was ending, and the "cake" of Konoha was about to be redistributed. Positions left vacant by the dead needed to be filled; underperforming departnts faced cuts, and new divisions were being proposed to address the village's weaknesses.

For the Jonin present, the real battle was just beginning.
