...
Walking along the small path ho, the setting sun stretched his shadow long. Shinichi habitually sank his focus into the depths of his consciousness and summoned the personal panel that only he could see.
Compared to two years ago, the changes on the panel were significant. Thick Skin and Tough Flesh (Green) had replaced the forr Tenacity (White); Swift as a Rabbit (Green) had been upgraded from Agility (White); Big Eater (Green) originated from Foodie (White); and Spirit Sense (Green) originated from Perception (White).
In addition, a brand-new white Entry had appeared on the panel:
Fire Release Basics (White): Your perception of fire-aspect chakra is relatively keen, and your control is smoother. When learning and performing basic Fire Release ninjutsu, efficiency and success rate are slightly increased.
The characteristics of this Entry were similar to Wind Release Basics (White) that he had drawn in his early years, except that it corresponded to the fire attribute.
As for its ergence, Shinichi had initially been sowhat surprised. His original intention had been to promote a more comprehensive Entry such as Ninjutsu Basics.
But upon careful thought, the reason might be this: over the past two years, in the various school competitions and assessnts, the ninjutsu he used most frequently and in which he perford most prominently had always been Fire Release ninjutsu.
In the eyes of classmates and teachers, the impression that Shinichi's Fire Release is strong was likely more concrete and more deeply ingrained than the broader notion that his ninjutsu is strong. Once again, the Entry system demonstrated its generation logic based on specific perceptions.
Another phenonon that gave him pause was that the Entry Taijutsu Basics (White), despite his never relaxing his display and refinent of taijutsu over these two years, still had not been upgraded to green.
It could only be said that the effect generated from Shinichi's battle with Kakashi back then—where he used swordsmanship to directly break through White Fang blade techniques, borrowing the world-renowned "stepping stone" of Konoha's White Fang—was even greater and more enduring than he had imagined.
In that battle, the brilliance of his swordsmanship even, to a certain extent, overshadowed his solid attainnts in taijutsu.
When people ntioned his taijutsu, they might offer a word of praise—good fundantals, great strength—but the deeper amazent and the more lasting labels were, for the most part, drawn instead to his swordsmanship.
As for Entries related to genjutsu, it was not that he did not want to build them. It was that in his year there was a Yūhi Kurenai—she not only had high talent in genjutsu, but also had a genjutsu jōnin father.
Shinichi truly could not think of any way, by any ans, to outshine this genjutsu prodigy. Moreover, from the beginning, his main goal had been focused on building Entries related to the body.
Later, after Uchiha Shisui enrolled, Shinichi had even less interest in building so kind of genjutsu-talent persona.
Shinichi withdrew his gaze from the personal panel.
Through more than two years of sustained managent and refinent of perceptions, he knew very clearly that the Entries on his panel were still far from being rich or perfect.
If ti were ample, he could refine them like a craftsman shaping stone—generate more white Entries, slowly nurture each white Entry into green, and even attempt to reach the higher blue domain, laying an unshakable foundation.
But there was not much ti left.
According to his inference based on scattered information from the original work and the common graduation age of his cohort, there was still a little over a year before the current fragile stability of the shinobi world would be completely shattered.
This was the fundantal reason he had decided to graduate early. Originally, according to his initial plan, he would have waited until he had made his foundation even more solid before graduating.
But it was still the sa sentence: there was not much ti left.
First step: graduate early and beco a genin.
At that ti, the occupational Entry Ninja Academy Student would naturally advance into Genin. The increase in occupational level would inevitably bring a more noticeable, comprehensive amplification related to shinobi talent.
In addition, by the previous pattern, occupational promotion almost certainly ca with a draw opportunity. A brand-new green Entry that could be obtained directly would be able to imdiately reinforce his ability frawork.
Second step: rapidly advance to chūnin.
This plan was even more aggressive. He intended, in the sa year he graduated and beca a genin, to find a way to participate in the Chūnin Exams, or through other feasible ans, strive to advance to chūnin at the fastest possible speed.
Once successful, the Genin Entry would once again upgrade to Chūnin. This would not only an another leap in the related enhancents brought by his occupation, but more importantly, starting from chūnin, there might be a chance to trigger a higher-level draw—a blue Entry draw opportunity.
With such planning, if everything went smoothly, then more than a year later, when the situation in the shinobi world truly began to grow turbulent, he would possess:
A stronger enhancent from the Chūnin occupational Entry.
A new green Entry obtained from advancing from genin.
A possible new blue Entry obtained from advancing to chūnin.
With these three layered together, the surge in strength they could bring would allow him, with greater confidence and stronger power, to face the coming trials of blood and fire, and to possess stronger self-preservation ability in the early stages of upheaval.
'Then the next Entry should be the last one I generate during my ti at the Ninja Academy.'
Shinichi withdrew his thoughts and lowered his gaze to his own hands.
At this mont, in his palms, he was slowly rolling two solid black iron balls. This was a habit he had suddenly developed more than a year ago.
In the eyes of others, this was rely a training thod—through the rotation and friction of the iron balls, exercising the joints and muscles of the fingers, palms, wrists, and elbows, enhancing their flexibility and strength, thereby benefiting the hand seal speed that was crucial for a shinobi.
This layer of reasoning was indeed valid, but Shinichi's purpose went far beyond that.
His deeper intention was to accomplish an event that would shock all of Konoha, and through it generate a comprehensive ninjutsu-type Entry.
Although previously only attribute-specialized Entries such as Fire Release Basics had been generated, rather than the broader comprehensive Entry he had hoped for—leaving him slightly dissatisfied that the plan had not fully gone as intended—he was not discouraged.
In fact, regarding how to shape and ultimately generate a powerful comprehensive ninjutsu Entry, he had long had a plan. This sche could even be traced back to not long after he had first entered the Ninja Academy.
It was a long-term plan that required prolonged research and would be ignited at a specific mont.
And that ignition point would be at the new sester's opening ceremony a few days later.
If everything went smoothly and his plan ca to fruition, then what would be generated at that ti would most likely not be white, nor even green—
But a blue-grade comprehensive ninjutsu Entry!
This would be the final Entry he carefully crafted during his ti at the Ninja Academy, and it would also be the most weighty farewell gift he presented for his early graduation.
