When Gin Ichimaru heard Shin accept Kenpachi's challenge, he paused his retreat, his interest piqued by the impending battle.
Aizen wanted to know Shin's strength, and so did Gin. This Kenpachi was powerful. Gin could sense an even greater power lurking within him. He wondered if Kenpachi, at his full strength, could actually stand against Shin Uzumaki.
"Fighting at the entrance to the Second Division will cause too much damage. Let's take this inside."
Shin walked into the Second Division barracks, and Kenpachi followed without hesitation. Gin, driven by curiosity, followed as well. If he could, he would also spar with Shin to complete Aizen's mission. After all, Aizen wasn't easy to fool. A brief exchange would be enough to satisfy him.
"Wow, the Second Division is so much nicer than the Eleventh," Yachiru said with envy. It seed no matter which division they visited, the Eleventh always ca up short in terms of environnt.
It couldn't be helped. The Eleventh Division was full of nothing but brutish thugs. They didn't bother with upkeep, and so parts of their barracks were even in ruins. The battle-crazed mbers didn't care about such things.
When they reached the training grounds at the back, the mbers of the Second Division gathered to watch, their curiosity piqued.
Soone was challenging their captain—of course they wanted to see. They hoped their captain would win.
"Is the captain of the Eleventh Division strong?"
"I don't know, but he can't be as strong as our captain..."
"He's definitely not as strong as our captain. Let's just watch him lose. Then we can rub it in the faces of anyone from the Eleventh Division we see."
"Better not. If you show off to anyone else, they'll just get annoyed. The Eleventh Division guys will actually start a fight."
The Eleventh Division was known for its violent nature. If you angered them, they would attack without a second thought. If two divisions started brawling, everyone involved would be punished.
"You're right. No need to stoop to their level. Better not to provoke them."
The thought of the Eleventh Division's madn made the Second Division mbers shiver. It wasn't that they were that much stronger, but their personalities... they were complete lunatics.
"Let heal those injuries for you."
Shin glanced at Kenpachi's wounds and healed them instantly. Even Kenpachi's fatigue vanished.
'That's so powerful Kaidō,' Gin thought, though he said nothing.
"Now, show your full strength. Otherwise, you might die," Shin said in a flat tone.
Kenpachi looked at Shin and grimly removed his eyepatch. The only ti he had gone all out was against Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto. He hadn't used his full strength since.
Now, Kenpachi felt he had to. Otherwise, he wouldn't stand a chance against Shin Uzumaki. He could feel that Shin's presence was infinitely more powerful than his own.
But Kenpachi felt no fear—only excitent. He had finally found a worthy opponent.
"Aren't you going to draw your sword?" Kenpachi asked Shin.
Shin stood empty-handed. Kenpachi didn't want to take an unfair advantage, so he wanted Shin to draw his weapon.
"I don't need a sword to deal with you," Shin said flatly.
Kenpachi's imnse Reiatsu seed to have no effect on Shin, who remained as calm as still water.
"Kenpachi's Reiatsu is incredible."
Yoruichi looked at Kenpachi with a serious expression. If she had to fight him, she wasn't completely confident she could win.
Gin was even more impressed. Soul Society was full of hidden powerhouses. There was the unfathomably strong Shin Uzumaki, the legendary strongest Soul Reaper, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, and now Kenpachi, who was definitely a cut above him.
A Kenpachi with his Reiatsu sealed might not be a match for Gin, but with the seal released, he was strong enough to overpower him.
"Heh heh heh, don't regret this."
Kenpachi grinned, then slashed at Shin. Just as the blade was about to reach him, Shin acted.
He raised his hand and caught Kenpachi's Zanpakutō, his expression unchanging. Kenpachi's pupils dilated.
He knew exactly how powerful his slash was, yet it had been completely neutralized by Shin. He had even caught his Zanpakutō. Kenpachi couldn't help but be shocked by Shin's strength.
"You call that strength? And you ca here to fight ?" Shin asked Kenpachi, his voice calm and detached.
He had every right to say that. In his eyes, the power Kenpachi had just displayed was far from impressive. Compared to the current Aizen, he was leagues behind. He couldn't match Aizen in any aspect. Even without his Zanpakutō, Aizen could defeat Kenpachi.
BAM!
Shin kicked out, and Kenpachi shot back like a cannonball, crashing to the ground and skidding a great distance.
Yoruichi, in her cat form, shot Shin a glare. She wasn't concerned about Kenpachi. How Kenpachi fared was none of her business. But what about the damage to the training ground?
This was going to cost money to fix, and the Second Division's budget was already stretched thin thanks to Shin's spending habits.
Shin had, of course, considered this, but he had a solution in mind. It was simple: he'd make Kenpachi sign a compensation agreent. All the damages would be covered by the Eleventh Division.
It wasn't that he was trying to screw them over, but Kenpachi had been the one to co looking for a fight. Since that was the case, why should he be courteous? Shin had no intention of paying for the damages out of his own pocket. If the Eleventh Division tried to back out, he wouldn't be afraid to flip their barracks upside down.
"Kenny's getting thrashed," Yachiru said, propping her chin on her hand as she watched Kenpachi with concern. This was the most brutal beating Kenpachi had ever taken. He'd been sent flying in an instant.
And his injuries were not light. Kenpachi was durable, but even he was struggling to get up. Gripping his sword, he staggered to his feet.
"Not bad. The fact that you can even get up after a kick like that is impressive enough." Shin looked at Kenpachi with approval.
Kenpachi's performance was already quite good, better than most captains.
