Unohana gave Senjumaru a long, hard look before finally sheathing her blade.
"Since Shin doesn't want to join Squad Zero, don't force him. I don't want to fall out with you over this," Unohana said seriously.
"Fine. If that's how it is, pretend I never ca," Senjumaru said, feigning a look of pity.
It truly was a sha. He was perfectly suited for Squad Zero. She couldn't fathom why he would refuse; she didn't see any downside to joining the Royal Guard.
Senjumaru left, but as Unohana watched her retreating figure, she turned to Shin. "I don't think Senjumaru Shutara will give up that easily."
Unohana knew Senjumaru well enough to know she wouldn't just walk away. Even though she acted as if she had conceded, she was undoubtedly plotting her next move.
"It doesn't matter. Even if she doesn't give up, so what? What can she actually do?" Shin shrugged, smiling nonchalantly.
"That's not necessarily true. She might actually try sothing... unconventional with you," Unohana warned, eyeing Shin.
Shin paused for a mont, then realized what Unohana was implying. Does she think Senjumaru would try to seduce ?
'That seems unlikely. And even if she did use that tactic, it's not like I'd definitely take the bait.' Unohana was seriously underestimating him.
Though Shin didn't say anything out loud, he ntally reprimanded Unohana. 'She really doesn't trust . Sigh... it hurts my feelings.'
"Alright, let's stop talking about her," Shin said, dismissing the topic of Senjumaru to chat with Unohana.
It wasn't until evening that Shin finally left the Fourth Division. And he didn't leave voluntarily—Yoruichi personally ca to retrieve him.
If Yoruichi hadn't shown up, Shin probably would have just stayed at the Fourth Division barracks indefinitely.
"You really didn't want to co back, did you?" Yoruichi stared at Shin, annoyed.
"Yeah. If you hadn't co, I really might have stayed there," Shin admitted with a nod.
"You have the nerve to say that out loud? Believe it or not, I'll hit you," Yoruichi threatened, raising a fist and waving it at him.
Shin just shrugged at the threat.
Shin didn't believe in holding back just because his opponent was a woman. If they fought, Yoruichi might end up being the one getting spanked.
"Hey! Why are you ignoring again?" Yoruichi shouted, chasing after him when Shin kept walking without responding.
"Why do you have to watch every single day?" Shin asked, exasperated. This woman was ruining all his fun.
"Hehe. If I don't watch you, what if you suddenly fly away one day? What would I do then?" Yoruichi chuckled.
"Where would I fly to? Don't worry. Even if I fly away, I'll take you with ," Shin said, patting Yoruichi on the head.
Yoruichi stopped talking and quietly followed behind him. As for the future... well, she was definitely going to keep watching him.
"Captain Shin."
When Shin and Yoruichi returned to the barracks, Soi Fon called out to him, then pointed toward a figure sitting nearby.
It was Senjumaru Shutara.
Shin blinked in surprise. Unohana had guessed right. Even though Senjumaru said she was giving up, she clearly hadn't.
"What are you doing at the Second Division?" Shin asked.
Next to him, Yoruichi frowned, instantly annoyed by this woman. She knew exactly what Senjumaru wanted—to take Shin away to the Royal Palace. Just the thought of it was unacceptable to Yoruichi. She absolutely wouldn't let Shin go to Squad Zero.
"I need to stay in the Seireitei for a while, but I don't have anywhere to go. I planned to stay here with Captain Shin for a few days. You don't have an objection, do you?" Senjumaru asked with a smile.
"You really don't know when to quit," Shin muttered.
She claid she had nowhere to go? If Shin actually believed that, he'd be an idiot.
"Right. Since we're being honest, let tell you: you aren't welco here," Shin said with a faint smile.
Senjumaru's brow furrowed slightly. Not welco? She had expected this reaction.
"I've already spoken to Captain-Commander Yamamoto. He agreed to let stay at the Second Division for a while," Senjumaru countered.
"Oh, really? But could I trouble you to get one thing straight? This is the Second Division. Do you know how things work here?" Shin asked calmly.
In the Second Division, Shin was the true authority. Even orders from old man Yamamoto could be completely ignored if Shin chose to do so.
"Do you really have the heart to chase away?" Senjumaru asked, putting on a pitiful, puppy-dog expression.
"Why wouldn't I?" Shin smirked playfully.
"Exactly. This place doesn't welco you. Soi Fon, show the guest out," Yoruichi said, highly satisfied with Shin's choice.
"But what if I don't want to leave?" Senjumaru sat there, not moving an inch.
"Then I'll have to throw you out," Soi Fon said coldly, staring at her.
She didn't care about Senjumaru's status as a Royal Guard mber. Status ant nothing to Soi Fon; only Shin's orders mattered.
"Little girl, you aren't strong enough to fight ," Senjumaru said with a smile.
And it was true. Although Senjumaru wasn't specialized in combat, she was still a mber of Squad Zero. The current Soi Fon was no match for her. If they fought, Senjumaru could easily handle her.
But Soi Fon didn't care. She attacked Senjumaru without hesitation.
Seeing this, Senjumaru raised an eyebrow and effortlessly blocked Soi Fon's hand, immobilizing her instantly.
"Captain Shin, I'm just here to stay. I promise not to disturb you. How about it?" Senjumaru stood up and addressed Shin directly. She knew that if she didn't get Shin's approval, she wouldn't be able to stay.
"Is that so? I hope you keep your word. In that case... you can stay here for now."
Shin thought for a mont, then nodded at Senjumaru.
However, staying here won't be for free...
