"I should have known better than to co looking for you. You were just trying to get rid of , weren't you?"
Yoruichi glared at Shin. By now, she was practically a full-ti teacher. All the work had been dumped on her, while Shin, the actual teacher, had plenty of ti to relax.
"You're right, I was. So, are you leaving?" Shin nodded with a smile.
Of course, he was just joking. How could he possibly let Yoruichi go now? Her arrival was a godsend. With her help, Shin's life had beco much easier. If she left, who would share the burden?
"Fine, I'm leaving right now." Yoruichi stood up huffily and walked towards the door.
Shin watched her go, a slight arch in his eyebrow, but he made no move to stop her. Just as he expected, Yoruichi, who was about to leave, suddenly turned back.
She stord back to him, her expression a mix of anger and amusent. "You're really not going to ask to stay? I've done a lot for you, you know. You're so heartless."
"Because I knew you'd co back. Why would I bother?"
Shin spread his hands and said.
"Alright, let's not talk about that. Can you cover my class today? I have sothing to do," Shin said to Yoruichi.
"Sothing to do? What is it this ti? Let's hear your latest excuse. You know what my greatest pleasure is these days? Watching you co up with new excuses."
Yoruichi said to Shin.
"I'm feeling under the weather. Not really up for teaching today, so could you fill in for ? It's not like you have anything better to do," Shin said, his whole deanor shifting to one of weakness.
Just a mont ago, he had been full of energy. Now, in the blink of an eye, he looked as if he were on his deathbed. The transformation was almost instantaneous.
"Your acting is terrible. I'm almost impressed," Yoruichi couldn't help but say.
"Please, Yoruichi. I'll make it up to you, I promise," Shin said, standing up and patting her on the shoulder.
"And what exactly is this reward? You're not just giving another empty promise, are you? You've already made so many of those."
Yoruichi said to Shin, clearly annoyed. She was tired of his empty promises.
"This ti, you can na your price. As long as it's not too outrageous, I'll agree to anything. How's that? I'm being sincere, right?"
Shin said quickly, hoping to get her to teach the class so he could slack off again.
"Alright, I'll trust you one more ti. But don't you dare go back on your word. If you do, don't bla for what happens next."
Yoruichi raised a fist, threatening him.
Shin completely ignored her threat. He knew she was just trying to scare him; she wouldn't actually do anything.
"See you later, Yoruichi. You go on and teach the class for ." With that, Shin vanished in a flash.
"I'm such a workhorse," Yoruichi sighed to herself.
If Soi Fon heard her now, she'd probably cry her eyes out. Compared to Yoruichi, Soi Fon was the one who was truly overworked.
Yoruichi then went to the elite class Shin was teaching. Seeing her enter, so of the students' faces fell with disappointnt.
'It's Lady Yoruichi again.'
"Excuse , Lady Yoruichi, but where is Teacher Shin?" Rukia Kuchiki stood up and asked.
Yoruichi looked at Rukia's onion-like hair and said irritably, "He said he's sick. How should I know what's really going on? I'll be teaching you today. We'll be working on your Flash Step."
"Ah, Teacher Shin is sick?" Rukia said, her voice filled with concern.
Yoruichi gave Rukia a speechless look. She actually believed him? So naive.
'Wait, why is Rukia so concerned about that guy being sick?' Yoruichi thought of how Shin had been giving Rukia private lessons recently, and her mood soured.
Of course, Yoruichi knew why Shin was teaching Rukia. It was because a certain stone-faced captain had asked him to. And a simple request wouldn't have been enough; Shin didn't work for free. The ice king must have paid him, and probably a lot.
But now, Yoruichi was suddenly annoyed with Byakuya Kuchiki. She'd have to go teach him a lesson one of these days.
And she had the strength to back up that thought. Beating up Byakuya would be easy for her.
As for Shin, he was, of course, perfectly fine. He was enjoying his free ti. How could anything be wrong with him?
He was currently napping in a remote corner of the Shin'ō Academy, a place where no one would find him.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Hearing a loud explosion nearby, Shin, who had been sleeping with his eyes closed, frowned and looked in that direction.
"So noisy," Shin said, annoyed.
"Ah." A short girl nearby was startled and looked over at Shin in a panic.
"Sorry, I didn't know anyone was here," Hinamori Momo said, bowing her head apologetically.
She had always practiced here, never expecting to see a stranger.
"So it's you."
Shin recognized Hinamori. It seed Momo wasn't very popular in the original story.
"You're... Teacher Shin?" Hinamori looked up at Shin and recognized him.
At this ti, Hinamori hadn't graduated from the Academy yet. She and Toshiro Hitsugaya were childhood friends and had entered the Academy together.
But Hitsugaya had graduated in just one year and was now close to becoming a captain. Hinamori, on the other hand, was still far behind.
However, Hinamori would eventually beco a lieutenant, which ant she had so talent.
"I'm trying to rest here. Find another place to practice your Kido. Don't disturb ," Shin said, waving her away before lying back down.
But Hinamori didn't leave. Instead, she walked over to Shin, a hesitant and nervous look on her face, as if she had sothing to say.
"If you have sothing to say, say it. If not, then leave," Shin said without opening his eyes, but he knew exactly what she was doing.
Though he didn't know what she wanted, he guessed she had a request for him.
