Since defeating Hiruzen, the Military Police Force Chief's office has beco noticeably more luxurious: leather chairs, mahogany bookcases, and even the teacups have been replaced with fine white porcelain. These changes silently highlight Shun's increasingly prominent status within the village.
His desk was piled high with various docunts, but most only required a signature to resolve. He propped his chin, gazing out at Konoha's bustling streets, his thoughts drifting far away.
'What a boring life. Should I get two female secretaries? Let the secretary handle work and handle other things when there's no work. Hehehe... How can I have such a lewd thought!?'
Just as he was imrsed in this interesting thought, there was an urgent knock on the office door.
Shun lazily said, "Co in."
Inaho pushed the door open, fine beads of sweat on his forehead. "Chief, sothing has happened."
Shun raised an eyebrow slightly, his pen spinning faster between his fingers.
"Inaho, what has made you so flustered?"
Inaho caught his breath, his Adam's apple bobbing.
"The Sarutobi, Shimura, Utatane, and Mitokado clans arrived at the Daimyos' Mansion two days ago. But because Hiruzen's injuries were only healed yesterday, the Daimyo hosted a banquet for them last night."
Shun leaned forward slightly, his pen suddenly stopping mid-air. "And then?"
Inaho lowered his voice. "After the banquet, Koharu and Homura were killed by Kakashi on their way ho."
A hint of interest flashed in Shun's eyes. "Oh? Interesting."
In reality, Kakashi's assassination of Koharu and Homura was his order. He just didn't expect Kakashi to be a bit reckless in his execution, causing such a big stir.
Inaho wiped his sweat and said, "Now the Daimyo has lodged a strong protest with Fugaku, and Fugaku has already declared Kakashi a rogue ninja."
Shun sneered, slamming his pen onto the desk. "The corruption of those two old geezers was exposed long ago, many in the village wished them dead. Many people are probably applauding Kakashi's move."
Inaho nodded. "That's true. Now there are people all over the village pleading for Kakashi."
"How does Fugaku-sama plan to handle it?"
Inaho hesitated. "He plans to hold an ergency eting. It looks like he wants to sacrifice Kakashi to appease the Daimyo's anger."
Shun stood up, his black trench coat fluttering without wind. "Let's go to the eting room. I want to see how they plan to deal with the son of Konoha's White Fang."
...
In the Hokage Building's eting room, the atmosphere was so heavy it could almost drip.
The Konoha higher-ups on both sides whispered to each other, their murmurs rising and falling.
Fugaku tapped the table, his voice as cold as ice. "Everyone. Kakashi's assassination of Koharu and Homura on the streets of the Daimyo's Mansion has severely angered the Daimyo. Now the Daimyo demands an explanation from us."
The eting room imdiately fell silent, everyone holding their breath.
Senju Natsuki, in a corner of the eting room, suddenly sneered, "An explanation? When those two parasites were embezzling, why did no one demand an explanation?"
Fugaku suddenly unleashed his Chakra, and the air in the eting room montarily stagnated. "Most of the ninja village's missions are issued by nobles. If we anger the Daimyo, the village's mission volu will drastically decrease, directly impacting our inco."
The atmosphere in the eting room suddenly beca oppressive and silent.
Representatives from several minor clans had already started to wipe their sweat.
Shun leaned back in his chair, a hint of sarcasm in his eyes.
'Sure enough. For the sake of profit, Kakashi must be sacrificed, huh?'
Seeing no one object, Fugaku nodded in satisfaction. "Since that's the case, we will maintain the original judgnt and list Kakashi as an A-rank rogue ninja, wanted throughout the Ninja World."
"I object."
Shun's clear voice broke the silence of the eting room.
Fugaku frowned slightly, appearing sowhat displeased, not expecting him to be the first to object to him.
He narrowed his eyes, suppressing his anger, and said, "Shun, if you have any thoughts, feel free to share them."
Shun slowly rose, his black trench coat swaying gently with his movents. "The Sarutobi, Shimura, Utatane, and Mitokado clans combined have 3556 ninjas. Feeding these people costs over a billion ryo every month. But just taking money and not doing anything, even the Daimyo would have a headache."
The newly appointed advisor, Shikaku, pushed up his glasses and added, "My view is consistent with Shun's. After these four clans defect to the Daimyo, they will inevitably take away a large number of missions. Even without this Kakashi incident, the outco would be the sa."
The eting room was silent, even breathing beca clearly audible.
Fugaku's face grew even darker. "Are you implying?"
Hiashi looked around, tily playing diator. "The deaths of Koharu and Homura actually benefit the Daimyo as well. It makes it easier for him to control these two clans. The reason the Daimyo wants us to severely punish Kakashi is rely to give these two clans an explanation."
Shun's gaze was fixed on Fugaku, seeing the slight upward curve of his lips, which clearly indicated his satisfaction with Hiashi's analysis.
Hiashi continued, "As long as we give the Daimyo a way to not be embarrassed, this matter will basically pass. The Daimyo will certainly not pursue further accountability, so punishing or not punishing Kakashi is actually not important at all."
The people in the eting room began to whisper amongst themselves, various opinions and ideas intertwining, with most agreeing with Hiashi's analysis.
Fugaku was silent for a mont, then his fingers tapped rhythmically on the table, as if he was thinking about sothing.
After a mont, he spoke, "Advisor Hiashi's suggestion is very good. So how do we handle this matter?"
Hearing his suggestion receive everyone's approval, Hiashi's deanor began to subtly change.
He nodded slightly, a barely perceptible curve appearing at the corner of his lips.
"We publicly declare: Kakashi is defined as an A-rank rogue ninja. This way, the Daimyo is not embarrassed. In reality, we let Kakashi temporarily live under a different identity, and after a year or so, once the commotion dies down, we will restore his identity."
The atmosphere in the eting room quietly shifted with Hiashi's speech.
Fugaku's brows slowly relaxed. He straightened his posture and said in a deep voice, "Advisor Hiashi's plan is excellent. This matter will be entrusted to him. If there are no other matters to discuss, then the eting is adjourned."
Everyone exchanged glances, then rose one by one, gradually exiting the eting room.
Shun was about to leave when he heard Fugaku call out to him.
"Shun, co to my office later, I have sothing to discuss with you."
