Seeing the rapidly spinning gold-dust triangular prism, the ANBU present all changed expressions at once. If such a massive, high-speed prism slamd into the Earth-Style Rampart, there was no way the wall they had erected could withstand it.
When the gold dust from the triangular prism and the gold dust already blocked by the Earth-Style Rampart ca crashing down together, the casualties would be catastrophic.
Even though the ANBU understood how grave the situation was, there was simply nothing they could do to stop it.
This was the Fourth Kazekage's full-power attack—far beyond what they could handle.
Just as the ANBU stood helplessly watching the enormous prism in the sky, a crisp and lodious sword chi suddenly rang out from the direction of the spectator stands.
Under normal circumstances, a sound like a sword's ringing would have been impossible to hear in such a chaotic arena. Yet this chi was extraordinarily distinct—soft, but heard clearly by everyone present.
All eyes instinctively turned toward the source of the sound.
At the very center of the arena, a man stood with his back to the crowd, calmly sheathing his blade.
Beside him were Neji, his face filled with relief after surviving disaster, and the One-Tail, frozen in place in stunned confusion.
What had just happened?
As the crowd stood baffled, soone suddenly shouted:
"Look at the sky!"
Many people looked up, only to see that the once wildly spinning gold-dust triangular prism had eerily stopped in midair.
Looking closer, they realized that a single streak of sword light was lodged right through the center of the prism, forcibly halting its rotation.
The spectators' mouths fell open.
Could it be… that man had split the Fourth Kazekage's gold-dust triangular prism with a single strike?
As that thought crossed their minds, another clear sword chi rang out—this ti not just once. Countless sword sounds echoed throughout the entire arena.
Under the crowd's shocked gazes, the interior of the prism—previously halted by the sword light—suddenly exploded into hundreds, even thousands, of blade rays.
Under the onslaught of dense, raging sword light, the terrifying gold-dust triangular prism beca nothing more than a joke. Before it could even reach the Earth-Style Rampart, it disintegrated, drifting down from the sky like fine snow.
So people instinctively caught a handful of the falling gold dust. Staring at the tiny grains in their hands, their minds went completely blank.
The massive gold-dust triangular prism… had been completely shredded.
What kind of terrifying realm was this?
An elderly man in the crowd, recalling the sword light he had just seen, suddenly grew excited. Turning back, trembling, he spoke a na that left everyone stunned:
"Such god-like swordsmanship… you are… Konoha's Silver Moon!"
At the sound of this long-forgotten na, many spectators froze for a mont—then suddenly rembered.
A na that had accompanied their entire childhood, yet had vanished for more than a decade.
The legendary shinobi whose swordsmanship was said to be divine, who had ended the Third Great Ninja War by his own strength alone—Konoha's strongest warrior:
Konoha's Silver Moon, Gekko Hoshiyomi!
The montary silence exploded into near-mad cheers.
The spectators almost forgot the danger they were still in, because at this mont there was only one thought in their minds:
Gekko Hoshiyomi has appeared—they are saved!
On the other side, the Sunagakure shinobi, including Baki, turned ashen-faced upon hearing the na. Baki, in particular, felt a wave of bitter despair.
If only I had sent more people to investigate Gekkō Hoshiyomi's whereabouts back then.
Seeing Gekko Hoshiyomi standing calmly in the arena, Baki knew it clearly:
The carefully plotted "Destruction of Konoha" plan had beco a complete joke, with not the slightest chance of turning the tables.
Listening to the thunderous cheers, the "Little Rookies"—especially Naruto and Sasuke—wore rather strange expressions. They had not lived through the era when Hoshiyomi created miracles, and thus couldn't quite understand why the crowd was so ecstatic.
Beside Tsunade, Ryūshin tilted his head, staring at his father standing at the center of the arena. It was the first ti he realized that his seemingly ordinary dad—whose only standout quality was being handso, and who occasionally liked to ss with his son—actually had a side he had never seen before.
Sensing his son's gaze, Hoshiyomi suddenly turned his head and raised an eyebrow at Ryūshin, the aning perfectly clear:
So, how about it—wasn't your old man incredibly cool just now?
Seeing this, Ryūshin silently rolled his eyes. Fine, he's still the sa old dad.
...
While Ryūshin was feeling speechless, the One-Tail Shukaku was busy screaming "Holy crap!" in his heart.
Shukaku had waited who knew how many years before finally sensing the seal loosen, ready to seize control of Gaara's body and savor the free air of the outside world.
Yet the mont he erged—before he could even fire off a couple of Air Bullets for fun—he saw that very man who had once threatened him standing right in front of him, smiling as he spoke:
"I told you before, didn't I? If you dared cause trouble, I'd cut you down. Little tanuki, you've been very disobedient."
As he spoke, the man drew his blade. Though it wasn't aid at Shukaku, he casually chopped apart the constantly spinning gold-dust triangular prism behind him, reducing it to powder.
Shukaku understood perfectly well—this was a warning.
If he stubbornly continued chasing freedom, his fate would likely be no better than that shattered prism.
Looking at the smiling human before him, Shukaku had to admit it—he was afraid.
With such overwhelming presence, Shukaku reckoned that in this world, only the Sage of Six Paths himself might surpass this man.
But the Sage of Six Paths wouldn't discipline him… whereas the one standing before him—
Shukaku didn't dare continue that thought.
Seeing that the human clearly looked ready to strike if he made even the slightest move, Shukaku swallowed his pride and muttered inwardly:
"A wise man knows when to endure."
After that, Shukaku stopped resisting and quietly retreated back into Gaara's body.
Watching the One-Tail withdraw into Gaara for no apparent reason, the spectators erupted into cheers, while Baki and Rasa turned ashen.
Even a mindless beast like the One-Tail had been forced back into Gaara by this man alone—what right did they have to challenge Konoha anymore?
Just as Baki and the others were on the verge of giving up resistance, the appearance of Sakumo and Kuugetsu beca the final straw that broke the cal's back.
The two figures appeared silently within the arena and reported to Minato:
"The Suna–Kumo joint forces that attacked Konoha have been confird defeated. Over two hundred and seventy enemy shinobi have been captured. Please issue your orders, Hokage-sama."
From the stands, Minato looked at Rasa, whose eyes were bloodshot, and spoke:
"Give it up, Rasa. I swear in the na of the Fifth Hokage—so long as you choose to surrender and guarantee that nothing like this will ever happen again, Konoha will let today's actions go without further pursuit."
Rasa looked deeply at Minato, but did not answer him. Instead, he turned to Baki and said:
"Baki! Take Gaara and the others and leave. I'll cover the rear!"
The Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, had made his choice.
