When they finally stepped back outside, Tekuno's stomach looked noticeably rounder than before.

Leaving the town behind, the three entered a dense forest.
Yagami quickly found a tall tree with a clear vantage point, bent his knees, and sprang up onto the branch.
Taking out binoculars, he peered toward the lake.
A figure sat at the water's edge—already waiting, fishing calmly.
"The contact is here."
He dropped from the branch and handed the binoculars to Tekuno.
"You stay here."
"Eh?" Tekuno blinked, confused.
Patting him on the shoulder, Yagami explained:
"It's just a handoff mission. No need for all of us to go. You're best at setting traps, so stay here as backup."
"If sothing happens, you're our escape route."
Though this mission looked simple, Yagami took nothing for granted.
This was his first mission as captain—he refused to capsize due to carelessness.
Tekuno's size also wasn't ideal for stealth.
"That's it? I understand!"
Chest puffed proudly, Tekuno took the binoculars.
"Captain, don't worry! If sothing goes wrong, I'll have a full trap field ready in five minutes!"
"Good. I'm counting on you."
Yagami patted him again, then turned. "Kakashi, let's go."

Leaving Tekuno behind, the two sped up significantly.
Within minutes, they reached the lake.
Up close, they realized the intel contact was an elderly man quietly fishing.
Yagami scanned the surroundings.
No unusual chakra fluctuations.
No signs of disturbance.
He approached.
"Yo, Uncle, fishing?" Yagami greeted casually.
Then whispered, "Did you eat fish today…?"
The old man looked up at him—expression unreadable.
Then suddenly… smiled.

Master, do you accept?]
The old man's smile told Yagami enough.
The system confird it.
"Move!!"
Without hesitation, Yagami grabbed Kakashi by the shoulder and sprinted away.
Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh!!
A shrill slicing sound erupted from the right.
Dozens of shuriken burst through the trees toward them.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Sword!"
Yagami pivoted, drew his sword in a smooth arc, and slashed.
A violent wind blade tore forward—
clang clang clang!!
The entire barrage of shuriken was blown off course.
Only then did Kakashi register what happened.
Ambush.
He'd been picked up and carried before he could even react.
"Crap!!"
High above, Tekuno—watching with binoculars—turned pale.
He leapt down imdiately and began laying traps at lightning speed.
Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!!
Multiple figures flickered into view.
A dozen Iwagakure shinobi surrounded Yagami and Kakashi instantly.
[Ding! Does the master wish to accept the mission?]

Yagami inhaled sharply, irritated.

Facing overwhelming numbers, Kakashi's face hardened.
This was his first ti being surrounded on this scale.
"Why did Iwagakure ambush us?" Yagami demanded coldly.
"Are you planning to start a war?!"
Both nations spied on each other—that was normal.
But an ambush like this crossed a line.
"Heh."
The Iwa shinobi sneered.
"You're here for intel, aren't you?"
"Why? Afraid to admit it now?"
They had numbers. They had the advantage.
Bowling over two Konoha shinobi was a ga to them.
"What are you talking about?" Yagami replied with a clueless expression.
"We just saw you fishing and got curious."
The Iwa jonin walked toward him slowly, smirking.
But Yagami's eyes sharpened.
This guy is the leader.
If he dies, their formation collapses.
If their formation collapses, we escape.
His fingers tightened around his sword hilt—
Already planning his first strike.
