After the Jonin eting ended, Kitazawa returned to the Hokage Office.

Although he had already decided to participate in the war, the mobilization of twenty thousand ninjas would take ti; the earliest they could depart was tomorrow.

Kitazawa pushed open the door and saw Tsunade.

She had taken off her shoes and was sitting on the Hokage's desk, her long, slender legs swinging back and forth.

"Tsunade-sensei, didn't you go to the Casino?" Kitazawa walked up to her and asked with a smile.

"I was planning to go, but I couldn't stop worrying, so I ca over to see you." Tsunade gave him a sidelong glance and replied.

"Then why didn't you attend the Jonin eting?" Kitazawa asked in return.

"Too much trouble." Tsunade shook her head and said, "Besides, I've already retired."

"Since you've retired, you don't need to worry about these things." Kitazawa gave a light chuckle and suddenly added, "If you really want to help, there is indeed one thing."

"What is it?" Tsunade asked curiously.

"It's to help relieve so stress." Kitazawa reached out and placed his hand on her thigh.

"You're still thinking of taking advantage of in a situation like this?" Tsunade was slightly taken aback, then imdiately realized what he ant.

"How could I?" Kitazawa said solemnly, "As the Hokage, facing a siege from four Ninja villages, the pressure is indeed very great."

"You bastard!" Tsunade imdiately lifted her leg and kicked at him.

Kitazawa instinctively blocked and was knocked back onto the sofa.

Tsunade walked up to him angrily. She plopped down onto his lap and pressed his head into her chest.

Kitazawa instantly felt an overwhelming pressure. His entire face was pressed tight, and he could only breathe through narrow gaps.

Kitazawa instinctively reached out and wrapped his arms around Tsunade's restless body.

"When… when are you leaving?" Tsunade paused for a mont and asked.

"Probably tomorrow." Kitazawa thought for a mont and replied.

"Do you need to go with you?" Tsunade let out a breath and asked.

"No need." Kitazawa instinctively opened his eyes, but his vision was filled only with a vast expanse of white.

However, he quite liked holding Tsunade like this. After all, he could experience her greatest assets.

"Because I won't be staying on the battlefield the whole ti either," Kitazawa added.

"That's true." Tsunade shifted her body slightly and said, "You have the Flying Thunder God Technique."

"That's only one of the reasons." Kitazawa raised his hand and gave her peach-like buttocks a light slap.

Her fair skin trembled faintly at the contact.

"What's the other reason?" Tsunade tightened her legs slightly in dissatisfaction.

"Because this war won't last very long." Kitazawa waited a second before replying.

"You're that confident?" Tsunade's fingers pressed tightly against his back, as if she wanted to pull him closer into her embrace.

"Of course." Kitazawa kneaded her waist and asked, "Shouldn't I be confident?"

"Fair enough." Tsunade thought of his strength and said, "It seems my worry was sowhat unnecessary."

"How could it be unnecessary?" Kitazawa opened his mouth to respond.

"Childish behavior!" Tsunade said with mild dissatisfaction.

But Kitazawa was already unable to speak. Tsunade instinctively hugged him tightly; at that mont, their two hearts were incredibly close.

Ti passed into the afternoon.

Tsunade had arrived full of worry and left feeling reassured.

After she left, Kitazawa remained seated on the sofa.

The sound of footsteps echoed. A pair of beautiful legs in black stockings entered his field of vision.

Kitazawa looked up and saw Konan.

Konan crouched down, glanced at him, and then lowered her head.

"Good girl." Kitazawa raised his hand and stroked her head.

He once again felt Konan's cold-on-the-outside, warm-on-the-inside nature. The reason she seed so distant was entirely due to being a victim of these chaotic tis.

But it didn't matter, because the chaotic tis would soon co to an end.

"You're coming to the battlefield with tomorrow," Kitazawa said, looking at Konan, whose cheeks were slightly puffed.

Konan's throat moved as she made a faint sound in response.

Kitazawa couldn't help but smile. He stretched his back and sighed inwardly; this kind of life was truly not bad.

Half an hour later, a knock sounded at the door.

Kitazawa was startled.

Konan instinctively covered her mouth and nose.

"You go down first." Kitazawa stood up and walked toward the Hokage's desk.

Konan nodded and vanished from the spot.

"Co in." Kitazawa looked toward the door and spoke calmly.

"Kitazawa." Shizune walked in.

"Is sothing the matter?" Kitazawa asked casually.

"Kabuto says he wants to set out tonight," Shizune replied.

"Tonight?" Kitazawa asked with slight surprise, "Is he ready so soon?"

"Intelligence from White Zetsu indicates that the Hidden Sand Village's vanguard is about to enter the Land of Rivers."

Shizune explained, "Kabuto's idea is to lead the Summoning Beast Unit to intercept them first, to prevent the Land of Fire from becoming a battlefield."

In addition, Kabuto had another motive. He wanted to be the first to achieve rit.

After all, during the Jonin eting, many people did not trust him, as he was relatively unknown.

If not for Kitazawa's reputation, they would certainly have raised objections to him becoming the commander of the Fourth Division of Ninja Forces.

"After Kabuto leaves, who will be in charge of the Fourth Division of Ninja Forces?" Kitazawa thought for a mont and asked.

"Kakashi and Kurenai." Shizune gave the expected answer.

"I see. I'll go et him now." Kitazawa said after brief consideration.

From the current situation, the Hidden Sand Village and Konoha Village would likely be the first to clash.

He could go and observe the battle, and incidentally check on the performance of Kurenai, Yakumo, and the others.

"Alright." Although Shizune was sowhat surprised that he was going in person, she did not ask further.

After she left, Konan reappeared, having tidied herself up.

Kitazawa nodded to her and took her to the Forest of Death.

At that ti, many Konoha ninjas were busy there. Upon seeing Kitazawa, they hurriedly greeted him.

"Don't mind ." Kitazawa waved them off and arrived at the location of the Fourth Division of Ninja Forces.

"Kitazawa-sensei." Kabuto ca forward to greet him.

White Zetsu had already notified him in advance.

"Kitazawa-sensei." Yakumo, Karin, and the others called out in unison.

"Kitazawa, why are you here?" Kurenai walked up to him and asked.

Because there were outsiders present, she appeared very composed.

"I'm going to the Hidden Sand Village with you." Kitazawa smiled and said.

"Really?" Kurenai showed surprise and joy.

"Why would I lie to you?" Kitazawa paused and added, "But I'm only here as a spectator; I won't interfere."

"We don't need you to interfere either." Kurenai gave a proud smile and said, "Just leave it to us and rest assured."

"Kabuto, you'll set out tonight." Kitazawa turned to Kabuto and said.

"Yes, Kitazawa-sensei." Kabuto promised, "I certainly won't let you down."

"I believe you." Kitazawa nodded.

Although the Summoning Beast Unit didn't have many people—only a hundred ninjas—they were all contractors of Ryūchi Cave.

When the ti ca to summon a hundred giant snakes, even if the enemy were ten tis more nurous, they could easily secure victory.

"I'll go prepare now." After giving a slight bow, Kabuto turned and left.

A mont later, he led the Summoning Beast Ninja Unit toward the Land of Rivers.

---

The sun was setting in the west.

On the eastern border of the Land of Wind.

At Baki's command, the Hidden Sand Village's vanguard halted and began setting up camp. Because it was a vanguard, their numbers were not large—only three thousand.

Their objective was simple: to secure advantageous terrain in advance for the main force.

Once the tents were erected, Baki walked into the central tent.

With him were many Sunagakure Jonin. However, Rasa, Chiyo, and Ebizo were not among them.

"Satetsu." Baki spoke and asked, "What's the situation on Konoha Village's side?"

Satetsu was a Jonin of the Hidden Sand Village.

In the original story, he participated in the Konoha Crush Plan and was later sent to search for the missing Fourth Kazekage, Rasa; he specialized in intelligence gathering.

"Konoha Village has split its forces into four paths, dividing into four Ninja Divisions to deal with our four great Ninja Villages."

Satetsu answered promptly, "Among them, the Fourth Division of Ninja Forces is assigned to confront our Hidden Sand Village."

"Who is the commander?" Baki nodded and asked again.

Splitting into four paths was not surprising. After all, their four great Ninja Villages were attacking Konoha Village together.

Defeating them one by one would be extrely difficult.

"Kabuto," Satetsu replied imdiately.

"That sounds sowhat familiar." Baki paused, unable to recall at once who Kabuto was.

"Kitazawa's student. He specializes in dical Ninjutsu." Satetsu reminded him.

"Oh, so it's him." Baki couldn't help but laugh and said, "It seems our Hidden Sand Village hasn't earned Kitazawa's serious attention."

The other Sunagakure Jonin were instantly filled with indignation.

After all, Kabuto truly had no notable reputation. Not only was he lacking in fa, but he also had no known strength.

A re dical Ninja was entirely beneath their concern.

They had originally assud the commander of the Fourth Division would be soone of the caliber of Orochimaru or Jiraiya.

Who would have thought that a seemingly ordinary Kabuto would be sent instead?

"This is actually a good thing." Baki raised his hand and spoke calmly, "We can catch Konoha Village off guard."

He had a clear sense of his own limits.

If soone like Orochimaru or Jiraiya had truly co, the pressure on the Hidden Sand Village would have been imnse.

Since there was a soft target like Kabuto to strike, why not take advantage of it?

"Everyone, go and rest. We set out tomorrow morning. Upon reaching the Land of Rivers, set up traps imdiately. We must give Konoha Village a head-on blow!"

Baki said in a deep voice.

"Yes, Baki-sama!" Satetsu and the others responded in unison.

In a dense forest far from the Hidden Sand Village's temporary camp.

The mbers of Konoha Village's Summoning Beast Ninja Unit stood quietly within the shadows of the trees.

Without sensory Ninjutsu, it would have been difficult to detect that a hundred ninjas were concealed within the forest.

A mont later, a White Zetsu wearing Anbu attire erged from the ground.

"Kabuto-sama." White Zetsu produced a map and said, "This is the map of the Hidden Sand Village vanguard's temporary camp."

Kabuto unfolded the map and examined it, his heart trembling slightly.

The map was even more detailed than he had expected, as if Baki himself had drawn it personally.

Not only were the positions of all sentries marked, but even the patrol routes of the night-watch Sand Ninjas were clearly indicated.

Most astonishing of all, it even listed the strength of the ninjas resting in each tent.

Kabuto's gaze subconsciously shifted toward White Zetsu. He truly did not know where Kitazawa had found him.

But one thing was certain—White Zetsu was not a ninja from Konoha Village.

Kabuto had once served in the Anbu. White Zetsu had definitely not been among them.

"Infiltrate first, then launch the general offensive." Kabuto made his decision swiftly.

Without this map, he would have launched a direct assault. But since he possessed this intelligence, he would not allow the Anbu's efforts to go to waste.

Moreover, Kabuto harbored an ambition—to eliminate the Hidden Sand Village's vanguard without suffering a single casualty.

The night grew deeper.

After dinner, Baki and the others gradually fell asleep. Only the Hidden Sand Village ninjas on watch continued patrolling the periter.

But within the darkness surrounding them, small venomous snakes slithered silently.

After entering the temporary camp, they dispersed and surrounded the tents one by one.

However, they only encircled the tents of the Genin and Chunin. As for the Jonin, their strength made them difficult targets for a direct assassination.

At a certain mont, screams erupted one after another.

"What's going on?" Baki was jolted awake instantly.

His eyes widened involuntarily as he realized the screams were coming from all directions. "A sneak attack from Konoha?"

Baki hurried out of his tent. He looked around but saw no ninjas from Konoha Village.

"It's venomous snakes!" Satetsu rushed over and shouted, "More than half of the ninjas have encountered venomous snakes!"

"Half?" Baki's expression changed drastically. "What are the casualties?"

"Many," Satetsu replied heavily. "There's no ti to calculate. I've already dispatched the Jonin to provide rescue."

"Where are the ninjas from Konoha?" Baki demanded with a frown.

"I don't know." Satetsu shook his head. "We haven't detected any outsiders infiltrating the camp."

"You're saying these venomous snakes bypassed our traps, hidden sentries, and night patrols?" Baki asked grimly.

"The ninja controlling these snakes is most likely Orochimaru," Satetsu warned.

"..." Baki felt a chill run down his spine.

He finally rembered that Orochimaru's Summoning Beasts were precisely the snakes of Ryūchi Cave.

If it were him, controlling such a number of venomous snakes simultaneously would indeed be possible.

"Orochimaru!" Baki shouted angrily.

In the next instant, massive shadows rose around the temporary camp.

Baki's breath hitched. They were giant snakes, each at least five ters tall.

"Sorry, but the one who ca this ti is not Lord Orochimaru." Kabuto's voice rang out.

Baki instinctively looked toward him.

Kabuto stood atop the head of a snake even larger than the others. It was Manda of Ryūchi Cave.

"Allow to introduce myself. I am Kabuto of Konoha Village." Kabuto spoke calmly.

After finishing his words, he raised his hand. All the giant snakes lunged toward the Hidden Sand ninjas.

In an instant, the ground trembled, and the mountains seed to sway. Wherever the giant snakes passed, deep furrows were carved into the earth.

The Hidden Sand ninjas could not help but turn pale, as if the end of the world had arrived.

"Attack!" Baki roared imdiately.

The Hidden Sand ninjas snapped back to their senses.

Whistling sounds echoed through the air. Dense waves of wind spread outward like sharp blades.

Monts later, balls of fire flared into existence, illuminating the night.

A chaotic battle erupted.

"I'll go kill Kabuto!" Baki declared without hesitation.

To defeat the enemy, one must first eliminate their leader. Without killing Kabuto, they could not win this engagent.

With that, Baki imdiately activated the Body Flicker Technique.

He closed the distance toward Kabuto at incredible speed.

Wind Release: Rotating Shuriken! While rushing forward, Baki directly threw a shuriken.

After being infused with Wind Release Chakra, the shuriken shot out like a spear.

Wind Release: Vacuum Bullet! Kabuto ford hand seals.

He opened his mouth and spat out wind spheres one after another like bullets.

With a bang! The shuriken was knocked away, and the remaining wind spheres surged toward Baki.

Baki couldn't help but feel slightly surprised. Who said Kabuto was just a dical Ninja?

This move alone—Wind Release: Vacuum Bullet—proved that his mastery of Wind Release was far from diocre.

Wind Release: Blade of Wind! Baki raised his hand.

A gust of wind burst forth between his three fingers.

This wind sliced through the wind spheres as easily as a blade cutting cloth and rapidly enveloped Kabuto.

"You're only capable of this much!" Baki snorted coldly.

He already seed to see Kabuto being cut into pieces.

After all, his Wind Release: Blade of Wind was an A-rank Wind Release technique capable of instantly killing an average Special Jonin.

"Is that so?" Kabuto rose directly into the air.

"What?" Baki's pupils trembled violently. Can he fly? Is it a Kekkei Genkai?

In his opinion, only the Third Kazekage and the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, could fly through Magnet Release.

The ability to fly was extrely troubleso. Baki imdiately sensed that this battle would not be simple.

Kabuto hovered in mid-air. He scanned the battlefield, his gaze narrowing slightly.

The Hidden Sand Ninjas—especially the Jonin—were fairly strong.

They had already begun searching for the mbers of the Summoning Beast Ninja Unit who were controlling the giant snakes.

If they were discovered, casualties would be inevitable. That did not align with his objectives.

"Then let's end it here." Kabuto ford hand seals without hesitation.

Baki noticed his movent.

He hurriedly ford seals as well. Wind Release: Whirlwind Technique!

A large amount of Chakra transford into countless wind blades that shot toward Kabuto in succession.

Suddenly, Baki froze.

A red dragon filled his field of vision.

Before he could even process what kind of Ninjutsu this was, he felt his sight and hearing vanish.

A surge of intense pain swept through his body, rendering him unable to move.

This was precisely Sage Art: White Rage Technique.

But Kabuto's target was not only him. Invisible sound waves and blinding light engulfed most of the Hidden Sand Jonin.

Caught off guard, they were struck by Sage Art: White Rage Technique.

At that mont, the giant snakes launched a counterattack, swallowing them whole.

Kabuto clenched his fist and struck Baki unconscious.

Baki was, after all, a Hidden Sand Jonin. Capturing him alive would be more valuable than killing him.

With most of the Jonin eliminated, the Hidden Sand Vanguard collapsed like a falling mountain.

In addition, they had already suffered heavy losses from the ambush by the snakes of Ryūchi Cave, with more than half of their Chunin and Genin dead.

"Clear the battlefield." Kabuto looked at the corpses scattered across the ground and spoke coldly.

"Yes, Lord Kabuto!" The ninjas of the Summoning Beast Ninja Unit erged one after another.

Kabuto glanced around and nodded. Not a single person on their side had fallen.

One hundred against three thousand, and a complete victory. Such a result was undoubtedly rare in the history of the Ninja World.

Of course, considering the strength of Ryūchi Cave, such an outco was not entirely surprising.

For this battle, Ryūchi Cave could be said to have committed its full force.

Kabuto and the others did not linger. They soon returned to the Land of Rivers with the surviving Hidden Sand Ninjas.

However, Kabuto did not intend to return to the Land of Fire. Instead, he remained in the Land of Rivers to make preparations.

What he did was identical to what the Hidden Sand Vanguard had intended—establishing outposts and laying traps to seize the initiative.

---

The next morning.

In the Kazekage's Office of the Hidden Sand Village.

"Lord Kazekage!"

An ANBU Ninja knelt on one knee and reported, "Intelligence just received—the vanguard led by Lord Baki has been completely wiped out!"

"That's impossible!" Rasa abruptly stood up, his face filled with disbelief.

"What exactly happened?"

Chiyo frowned and asked, "The vanguard had three thousand Ninjas. Even if Konoha Village's Fourth Division of Ninja Forces attacked in full force, it would be impossible to annihilate them entirely."

She was calr than Rasa, yet still found it hard to accept. It was no secret that Konoha Village had split its forces into four routes.

They had obtained that intelligence as well. But the problem was that Konoha's Fourth Division only had five thousand Ninjas.

They did not possess an overwhelming nurical advantage.

Moreover, even if Baki's vanguard was defeated, shouldn't they have been able to retreat?

How could they have been completely wiped out?

"It happened like this." The ANBU Ninja imdiately recounted the events of the previous night.

Although no one from the Hidden Sand vanguard had survived, through certain Ninjutsu, they were able to extract information from the corpses and reconstruct the sequence of events.

"Even Ryūchi Cave fully assisted Konoha Village?" Chiyo sighed, her expression extrely solemn.

Previously, it was said that Ryūchi Cave had supported Konoha Village. But in reality, they had only aided Orochimaru, and never on such a large scale.

This made Chiyo wonder whether Ryūchi Cave and Konoha Village had reached so kind of agreent.

And what of Shikkotsu Forest and Mount Myōboku?

"Snakes from Ryūchi Cave alone wouldn't be enough to annihilate the vanguard."

Chiyo rubbed her brow and added, "As expected of Kitazawa's student—his strength is astonishing."

"They were only ambushed!" Rasa said angrily, "I'll lead forces to the Land of Rivers imdiately!"

"I'll go with you," Chiyo spoke seriously. "We must remain extrely vigilant."

Rasa took a deep breath and nodded.

Although he refused to accept Kabuto's sneak attack, the loss of three thousand Ninjas was a heavy blow to the Hidden Sand Village.

Beyond that, it was a humiliation. Three thousand Ninjas had fallen without killing a single Konoha Ninja.

For one of the Five Great Villages, that was an unbearable disgrace.

In contrast, the reputation of Kabuto and Konoha's Summoning Beast Ninja Unit soared.

The ninjas of Konoha Village were both delighted and astonished. In the end, they could only marvel at Kitazawa's discerning eye for talent.

On the open ground outside Konoha Village's Forest of Death.

The four Ninja Units stood ready, fully prepared to depart.

"I'll leave these three to you for now." Kitazawa glanced at Sasuke, Naruto, and Hinata, then spoke to Uchiha Fugaku.

"Please rest assured, Hokage-sama. I will take good care of them." Uchiha Fugaku responded imdiately.

Of course, he was well aware of Team 7's strength. They hardly required his protection at all.

Kitazawa nodded, then followed Kurenai, Kakashi, and the others toward the Land of Rivers.
