On the battlefield, all the ninjas were retreating after the order from Inoiki. The roots of the God Tree had started to spread everywhere, bursting out from the ground, tearing apart the earth, and moving toward the ninjas of the Allied Shinobi Forces like the tentacles of so vicious beast. Cracks spread across the battlefield as thick roots shot upward without warning, dust and broken stone flying into the air.
After Inoiki’s order, they were retreating, but even so, many were still hit by the roots of the God Tree, and their chakra was sucked away. Cries of pain echoed across the battlefield as so shinobi were dragged down, their bodies rapidly weakening, shrinking and turning pale, the mont those roots wrapped around them.
But many of them were also saved as Inoiki controlled hundreds of blades with his psychokinesis, sending them flying all around the battlefield to destroy those roots. The blades flashed through the air like silver streaks, cutting through thick roots one after another before they could completely bind their targets. So shinobi fell to their knees in shock after being freed at the last second, breathing heavily as they stared at the destroyed roots beside them.
But even Inoiki’s capabilities had limits. He was not a nanny for all these people, and he could only try to save as many as he could without putting too much pressure on himself, especially when he still had an opponent like Obito in front of him. He could not give Obito an opening, because Obito would definitely exploit it the mont he saw one.
So Inoiki saved however many people he could save, and because of this, even if a few of the Allied Shinobi ninjas were caught by the tree and died, the casualties remained relatively low.
Inoiki knew that the battle had now reached its fever pitch, and from here on, either his moves or Obito’s moves would beco the deciding factor of the battle.
So without hesitation, he turned toward the Raikage, Tsunade, and Jiraiya and said, "All the Kages and all able ninjas who are elite Jonin-level or S-rank-level from your villages, imdiately go to the Fourth Division battlefield and free Naruto, because I need him here. I have a better use for him. Let him co here, and you all go and fight against Madara Uchiha. And also, all the ninjas who are present here will be able to do nothing against Obito or this God Tree, so just let them retreat from here."
The wind howled across the shattered battlefield as roots of the God Tree continued to rise in the distance, tearing through the earth with deep rumbling sounds. Dust drifted through the air, and the surviving shinobi looked toward Inoiki with tense expressions.
As soon as Inoiki’s voice fell, most of them nodded and agreed.
The Raikage, however, was soone who wanted revenge against Obito. He was definitely not willing to leave the battlefield because he wanted to kill Obito with his own hands. His fists tightened at his sides, veins bulging across his arms as he glared in Obito’s direction.
But he also knew that his desperation was aningless in front of the strength Obito had shown. If he fought Obito, then he would barely be able to do any damage to him. Damn it...
So he would be better off fighting Uchiha Madara and doing the work of a leader.
After making up his mind, the Raikage slowly let go of his clenched fist and ordered all the Allied Shinobi Forces, "Start to retreat! No need to stay around here, leave!"
His voice thundered across the battlefield.
After the Raikage’s orders, they imdiately started to retreat. After all, the Raikage was the Supre Commander, so his orders were followed without hesitation.
Obito looked at the retreating forces of the Allied Shinobi Forces and then toward Inoiki, as if mockingly challenging him.
"Do you really think I will let them escape from here?" Obito said coldly. "If you want them to escape, then I will let them die here."
As soon as Obito’s voice fell, four enormous flowers blood on top of the God Tree in four different directions. Their petals slowly spread open, revealing giant stem-like openings that looked like massive round mouths. Dark chakra imdiately began to condense within them.
Soon after, Tailed Beast Bombs started to form.
The black spheres of chakra grew larger and larger, twisting the surrounding air as terrifying amounts of power condensed within them. One in each direction.
And clearly, all four of them were aid directly at the Allied Shinobi Forces.
All the Kages and everyone who had been about to retreat had no choice but to stop because of this huge attack. They could feel the overwhelming pressure coming from those Tailed Beast Bombs, and so of the weaker shinobi could barely even breathe properly under that suffocating aura.
After seeing this attack, Inoiki said calmly, "Leave from here with ease, I am here. I will handle these attacks."
His voice was not loud, but sohow it still reached everyone clearly amidst the chaos of the battlefield.
As soon as Inoiki’s voice fell, the Tailed Beast Bombs finished condensing, and all four of them were fired at the sa ti.
The mont they shot forward, the entire battlefield seed to tremble.
The black spheres tore through the air with terrifying speed, leaving behind distorted trails as they rushed toward the Allied Shinobi Forces from four different directions. The sound alone was enough to make many ninjas freeze in fear.
The ninjas of the Allied Shinobi Forces were terrified.
Even though Inoiki had given them his assurance that he was going to stop these attacks, these Tailed Beast Bombs—these four gigantic Tailed Beast Bombs—were definitely not sothing they could ignore.
If even one of those attacks hit, then based on the sheer range and destructive power of the explosion, they would all be pulverized in an instant.
So rather than simply running, many of them instinctively prepared themselves to form a combined front and create a defense sturdy enough to stop those four Tailed Beast Bombs from hitting them.
But before they could do so, before a few of the captains of different platoons and divisions could even give orders to create defenses such as earth walls or multiple layered barriers of water, Inoiki suddenly used his psychokinesis and activated a technique—Vector Inversion.
The mont the four Tailed Beast Bombs were about to descend onto the battlefield, sothing unbelievable happened.
Their trajectories suddenly changed.
The massive black spheres, which had been moving away from the God Tree and toward the Allied Shinobi Forces, abruptly stopped in midair for a brief mont. Then, as if so invisible hand had seized them, all four Tailed Beast Bombs reversed direction and shot back toward the God Tree.
The air trembled violently from the sudden shift in montum.
Many shinobi stared with wide eyes at the sight of those massive attacks flying back the way they had co. So of them could not even understand what they were seeing at first. The sa attacks that had nearly made them lose all hope were now rushing back toward the enemy.
Imdiately, all the ninjas who saw this scene understood that this had to be Inoiki’s doing.
Seeing Inoiki handle those terrifying attacks so easily, the Raikage also shouted, "What are you all dawdling for?! Retreat! Move away from here! Didn’t you get the order?!"
His voice snapped the Allied Shinobi Forces out of their shock.
After that, all the ninjas of the Allied Shinobi Forces began retreating with a kind of peace of mind. The battlefield was still filled with tension, fear, and uncertainty, and none of them knew what the result of this battle would be. Technically, the result of this battle mattered more than anything else.
But at the very least, they were now able to retreat from there with so peace of mind, knowing that Inoiki was still standing on the battlefield.
As soon as all four Tailed Beast Bombs converged at one point, there was a large boom in the sky.
But the explosion was not as large as it should have been. In fact, compared to what everyone had expected, it was strangely small.
Inoiki knew the reason why this had happened.
Because technically, if these four Tailed Beast Bombs—which could be said to be among the strongest Tailed Beast Bombs, after all, they had been fired by the Ten-Tails—had truly collided and exploded at one point, then the destruction would have been enormous.
At the very least, a huge shockwave should have been released, enough to send most of the Allied Shinobi Forces flying away from there and maybe even kill a few of the weaker ninjas on the battlefield.
But that did not happen.
The mont those Tailed Beast Bombs ca into contact with the surface of the God Tree, they were imdiately absorbed back into it.
The God Tree possessed the property of absorbing all chakra, and these attacks were no exception.
So even if a few remnants of the Tailed Beast Bombs collided with each other before being fully absorbed, that resulting blast was not very big. A rumbling sound still echoed through the sky, and a wave of hot wind swept across the battlefield, but it was far from the catastrophic explosion it should have been.
And the God Tree itself was definitely not damaged in the slightest.
