Kyoshin's gaze fell on the one-ard missing-nin.
The man realized this was a battle they had never had any chance of winning, and imdiately dropped to the ground. "I... I surrender! I'm willing to tell you everything!"
"No need." Kyoshin's response left him confused.
What did he an, no need?
The one-ard missing-nin raised his head just as the Dust Release barrier ca crashing down toward him.
Bzzzt!
The battle was over.
Aside from the missing-nin who had been killed by Aragami reflecting his own attack back at him, the other two didn't even leave behind corpses.
Deidara and Kurotsuchi returned from the distance and regrouped with Kyoshin.
Kurotsuchi's dark eyes sparkled as she looked at him. "Huh? Kintsuchi, you can already use Dust Release? That's seriously amazing!"
Kyoshin descended from the air and shrugged. "It's all thanks to having a good teacher."
Karin and Kurotsuchi both had their own opinions about that.
Sothing like Dust Release wasn't the kind of thing you could learn just because soone was willing to teach it.
Before Kyoshin, Onoki had worked himself nearly to death over the matter.
As long as anyone in the village showed even the slightest bit of talent, Onoki would try steering them toward the path of Dust Release.
But unfortunately, most people couldn't even et the prerequisites for learning the prerequisites of Dust Release.
Deidara didn't join the discussion. His eyes swept across the two massive craters left behind by Dust Release and the corpse still pinned to the ground.
He swallowed nervously and cautiously glanced sideways at Kyoshin. "D... did you really have to wipe them all out? He already said he'd tell us everything, hm..."
"What could they possibly tell us?" Kyoshin pointed at the remaining corpse. "You can already infer most things from him anyway."
"And besides, shouldn't traitors naturally die?"
Then why use a cannon to kill a mosquito?
Deidara muttered under his breath, "Weren't you a defector from Konoha too? Hm."
"Deidara?" Kyoshin looked over curiously. "What did you say?"
"I said, 'As expected of the captain!'" Deidara's eye twitched. "Also, leave the body search to ."
Kyoshin nodded. "Then I'll leave it to you."
In truth, Kyoshin had heard him clearly, but chose not to argue.
After all, from Konoha's perspective, he really had defected.
But from his own perspective, Konoha had abandoned the Uchiha. The Uchiha clan had beco people without a village. In that case, joining any village afterward couldn't really be called defection.
To put it simply, defection ant voluntarily quitting a company, maybe even taking company secrets with you.
But Kyoshin's situation was more like being fired by the company without compensation, while the company also wanted him dead because he knew too many secrets.
Not to ntion that before being "fired" by Konoha, Kyoshin had never truly belonged to any "company" in the first place.
How the hell was that the sa thing?
After Deidara finished his work, the group returned to Iwagakure with the mission results.
———
Ti passed.
On the training ground, Kyoshin sat cross-legged with his eyes closed, cultivating chakra.
The childishness had already faded from him. He had grown noticeably taller, his shoulders broader, and the contours of his face sharper.
Though he still retained a young man's clean-cut appearance, the steadiness and calmness in his eyes far surpassed others his age.
When his training ended, Kyoshin opened his eyes and slowly exhaled a breath of stale air.
Twelve years old.
The main story should be starting soon.
As a transmigrator, it was only natural for him to join in on the excitent.
At the sa ti, he wanted to secure so practical benefits for Iwagakure, the village that had shown him trendous kindness.
Over the past few years, only Kyoshin truly understood just how outrageous Iwagakure and Onoki's "indulgence" toward him had been.
Without exaggeration, they had absolutely no bottom line when it ca to him.
If Kyoshin had been soone without morals, or a real child lacking an adult's way of thinking, then by now his personality might've resembled that spoiled kid who refused to eat cheap food.
As for strength, Onoki completely trusted him by this point.
He possessed absolute freedom. Even if he wandered the shinobi world, Onoki wouldn't worry.
When the "company" treated him like this, what more was there to say?
This wasn't a company anymore.
This was ho.
And since it was his ho, of course he wanted to help build it up.
Kyoshin recalled the original plot.
After graduation, Team 7 would form.
They'd start with catching cats and walking dogs, then move on to the Land of Waves mission.
So what benefits could he get from it?
Kyoshin thought of two things.
First: Gato.
A ruthless man who squeezed every last drop from people and scraped oil from stone.
Money still carried a great deal of influence in the shinobi world.
Well... in most situations.
Nobody disliked having a fatter wallet.
Second: human resources.
Team 7's enemies in the Land of Waves were Zabuza and Haku.
Zabuza was a missing-nin from Kirigakure. Bringing him in might create diplomatic problems.
Besides, Kirigakure had Obito's fingerprints all over it. It was better to avoid involvent with them whenever possible.
It wasn't that Kyoshin feared Obito. He simply understood the current situation clearly.
Uchiha Itachi's body was practically crippled already.
As ti went on, Itachi would only grow weaker and weaker.
Uchiha Obito, burdened with the Eye of the Moon Plan, wouldn't improve much in strength over the coming years either. It could even be said he wouldn't improve at all.
As for Kyoshin, although he already had confidence in defeating either of them, he still had trendous room for growth.
And more importantly, he hadn't exposed himself yet. Within Iwagakure, everyone only knew him as Kintsuchi. Only a handful of people and the upper ranks knew the na Kyoshin.
Since his enemies' strength wouldn't increase much in the near future, while his own would steadily grow stronger...
Then why expose himself early?
The stronger he beca, the safer things would be.
As for revenge, he had already endured for years. Waiting a little longer didn't matter.
In short... Kyoshin couldn't target Zabuza.
At the very least, he couldn't openly bring him back to Iwagakure.
So instead, he'd target Zabuza's little follower, Haku.
Haku possessed a kekkei genkai. Unfortunately, he died young in the original story, so no one knew how high his future potential truly reached.
But one thing was certain: at minimum, he would've reached elite jonin level.
As ntioned before, throughout the shinobi world over the span of twenty years, the number of elite jonin was absolutely not as high as people imagined.
Back then, when Onoki wanted Kyoshin to adapt to Anbu missions and gain combat experience, even finding two elite jonin to serve as his teammates had required pulling strings everywhere just to clear their schedules for a single month.
Then it was decided.
Primary target: Haku.
Carefully think of a way to bring him into Iwagakure.
Secondary target: Gato's money.
After obtaining it, first use part of it to help the Land of Waves recover from disaster, then pocket the rest.
"Kintsuchi~"
A crisp voice interrupted Kyoshin's thoughts. He looked toward the entrance of the training ground.
It was Kurotsuchi. She held a specially made recovery drink in her hand and walked over to him before offering it out.
"Just finished training, right? Drink this. I added rock honey and restorative herbs. It works better than normal soldier pills."
Kyoshin accepted the bottle and took a sip.
The sweetness was moderate, carrying a faint herbal fragrance. It really did taste much better than soldier pills.
"Thanks," he said.
Kurotsuchi smiled, then naturally wrapped herself around his arm. "Co on, go shopping with in the comrcial district. I heard a new ninja tool shop opened, and I want to see if they've got any good shuriken."
Her movents were natural, and her tone casual, as though this were the most ordinary thing in the world.
But Kyoshin could feel the gazes from the other ninja training nearby, so envious, so curious.
Over the past two years, Kurotsuchi's attitude toward him had beco increasingly direct and bold.
From subtle concern at the beginning, to actively approaching him later, to now no longer hiding it at all.
She would bring him drinks after training, drag him out for als after missions, ask him to go shopping on rest days, and even openly hold his arm as they walked together like a couple.
