Naruto: Lost to Hinata on Purpose, and Now Everything's a Mess Chapter 29 29 : Kakashi Will Take Care Of It
After stuffing Uzuki Yugao with a soldier pill, Riku began bandaging her wounds.
Looking at her clothes soaked in blood, he frowned. "You're lucky you're not dead."
Even after taking the soldier pill, Yugao's face remained pale. Just the slightest movent sent waves of pain through her body.
Still, she looked calmly at Riku and managed a small smile. "Kid, are you scared?"
Riku was unsettled. He had been feeling off ever since the kill earlier.
But if he didn't bandage her wounds, Uzuki Yugao would almost certainly die here tonight.
He pulled out a kunai and cut away the blood-soaked fabric of her uniform.
Yugao's eyes widened in surprise. "You—what are you doing?"
Riku didn't answer. He simply continued cutting away her clothes without hesitation. At that mont, he had no impure thoughts at all.
If soone could have wicked thoughts while looking at a body covered in wounds and blood, then there really was sothing wrong with their head.
Yugao's expression darkened. "You… you little brat, don't touch ."
But when Riku got a good look at her injuries, he turned pale.
"Shut up. Look at yourself—if I don't bandage these now, you really will die here."
He paused, then added, "By the way, do you know any dical ninjutsu?"
He rembered that during the Fourth Great Ninja War, Uzuki Yugao had participated in the dical support division.
Seeing the serious look on Riku's face, Yugao's irritation faded, even though her clothes had just been cut open.
Besides, he was just a child. There couldn't be any bad intentions.
So she sighed and answered, "No."
Riku frowned, a bit disappointed. "That's a sha. I only know basic first-aid. Hopefully it'll be enough to keep you alive."
With that, he began wrapping her wounds in bandages.
Yugao had been stabbed five tis, each cut in a different, very sensitive area.
It took more than ten minutes for Riku to finish treating her injuries.
At the sa ti, he had already sent out a Shadow Clone to go find Kakashi.
By the ti he was done, his forehead was covered in sweat.
Yugao, though weak, looked at the boy's exhausted expression with a trace of gratitude.
"Kid… thank you. What's your na?"
"Riku."
He sat beside her, pulled the coat off one of the fallen enemy shinobi, and draped it over her body—her uniform had been destroyed during the bandaging.
About three minutes later, Kakashi finally arrived with two dical-nin in tow.
The mont he saw the scene, Kakashi was stunned.
So were the two dics.
The clearing was covered in blood, the damage from the battle severe.
Riku looked up at the two dical-nin and said, "Please treat her. She's lost a lot of blood."
The two nodded and imdiately moved to Yugao's side, covering her with a white cloak before beginning treatnt.
Riku had specifically asked them to do so.
Although both dics were won, Kakashi was a grown man.
Riku didn't want to embarrass Yugao any further.
As the dical-nin began applying chakra to her wounds, Riku stepped aside and recounted the entire evening's events to Kakashi.
When Kakashi finished listening, his brow furrowed deeply. He turned to Riku, his voice low and firm.
"Rember—what happened tonight, and this dead shinobi… they were all handled by Uzuki Yugao. You just happened to pass by. Got it?"
Kakashi knew this incident could bring serious consequences down on Riku.
Yugao was a mber of the ANBU, after all. They needed to work the story carefully.
Understanding Kakashi's good intentions, Riku nodded. "Okay. Then I'll go."
Kakashi thought for a mont, then added, "Go back and get so sleep. If anyone cos looking for you, don't go with them. If I need you, I'll send Pakkun. Understand?"
He was clearly worried.
Not about Yugao—but about the danger Riku could face if word got out.
Having served in both ANBU and ROOT, Kakashi knew how dark the inner workings of Konoha could be.
He didn't want Riku to beco a sacrifice to that darkness.
Riku nodded again. "Got it."
Just as he was about to leave, Kakashi hesitated, still uneasy. He ford a quick hand seal.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
A small puff of smoke appeared, revealing a tiny pug.
Kakashi looked at Riku. "Keep him with you. I'll only summon him if I need you. If soone else cos knocking and he hasn't appeared, don't go with them."
The pug, Pakkun, trotted over to Riku.
Riku blinked. "It's so… ugly."
Kakashi sighed, a vein twitching. "It's just a signal, don't complain. Pakkun, stay with Riku and don't leave his side for the next week."
Pakkun turned to Riku and gave him a once-over. "Kakashi, this brat your apprentice or sothing?"
They had talked about Riku before, but it was Pakkun's first ti eting him.
Riku chuckled. "It can talk."
Kakashi waved them off. "Alright, go. Take Pakkun and head ho."
Uzuki Yugao and the two dical-nin remained unaware of what had just happened between Kakashi and Riku.
Kakashi walked up to Yugao and smiled faintly.
"Yugao—you killed this shinobi, right?"
It wasn't a question.
Yugao blinked, then understood. She nodded.
As a fellow ANBU operative, she knew what Kakashi was doing. And because Riku had saved her, she was willing to go along with it.
The two dical-nin continued working for over ten minutes before they finally stopped.
"All wounds are sealed," one of them said. "Luckily, no vital organs were hit. But if that kid hadn't bandaged her when he did, she would've bled out."
"And his bandaging technique was pretty professional," the other added.
Yugao rembered Riku sweating bullets as he worked on her. She also recalled how she'd misunderstood him and accused him of being a pervert.
Guilt crept into her heart. He was just a six-year-old boy.
After Kakashi and Yugao aligned their stories, things beca much easier to manage.
With Kakashi's years of experience as an ANBU captain, covering up a mission was child's play.
anwhile, Riku returned ho with Pakkun by his side.
But sleep didn't co easily that night.
He sat on the porch outside his house, gazing up at the bright moon overhead.
Pakkun curled up beside him, standing guard.
