Naruto: Lost to Hinata on Purpose, and Now Everything's a Mess Chapter 86 86 : Super S-Rank Ninjutsu
Riku had noticed how easily Orochimaru had evaded his earlier ninjutsu, and his respect for the man grew in his heart.
After the release of the jutsu, Riku gently set Anko down just as a massive wall of fla erupted.
Anko had a great figure and a beautiful face, but she didn't usually care about appearances. Her clothing was casual and her deanor carefree—she ca off more like a rowdy teenage boy than a refined kunoichi.
But Riku's attention was entirely fixed on Orochimaru. At this mont, he was deeply interested in facing off against the Sannin.
Anko, still catching her breath, looked at Riku in surprise and asked, "Why are you here?"
Riku didn't even look at her. His eyes stayed locked on a massive tree tens of ters away as he smiled slightly. "I sensed a powerful chakra in the forest, and yours appeared too. I thought sothing was wrong. I didn't expect to run into one of the Legendary Sannin. This just got interesting."
Anko didn't actually want Riku involved right now. She knew full well how dangerous Orochimaru was.
"You should find a chance to get out of here," she warned. "Orochimaru is incredibly strong. You're no match for him."
Riku glanced at her calmly. "A chance to fight one of the Sannin is rare. Why would I run away? But you—a Tokubetsu Jonin—daring to face a Sannin… are you insane?"
Of course, Riku already knew Anko had once been Orochimaru's student, but he chose not to ntion it and acted completely unaware.
Anko didn't suspect anything. Her voice was sharp with frustration. "Get out of here while you still can. If you don't want to die, then leave! He's dangerous—far beyond anything you can handle."
Despite her tough words, Anko was clearly worried. She was the examiner for the second round of the Chūnin Exams, and Riku was a standout talent among the participants. She didn't want to see him die here.
Riku smiled faintly. "Do you really think we can escape from a Sannin? We either defeat him… or we die. There's no third option."
Anko stared at him in disbelief. "Defeat him? Are you out of your mind?! You might be gifted, but do you even understand what it ans to fight a Sannin?"
"That's Hokage-level power!"
Riku chuckled. "Didn't I just say? Even if I wanted to leave, he wouldn't let ."
Anko gritted her teeth and drew a kunai. "Then stay sharp. If we work together, maybe we can hold out until reinforcents arrive."
"I've already sent word to the ANBU. If we can hold him off for about ten minutes, help should get here."
Riku's lips curled into a smirk. "Scared?"
Anko shot him a glare. "Quit talking! He's still nearby—watch for a sneak attack!"
Riku pulled out a kunai and casually threw it into the distance.
Anko stared in confusion. What's he doing? Did he sense sothing?
The mont the kunai struck into the bark of a large tree tens of ters away, Riku vanished from Anko's side.
In a flash, he reappeared beside the tree.
Flying Thunder God Technique.
Anko froze. "That technique... That's what the Third Hokage ntioned... He's mastered the Fourth Hokage's Flying Thunder God?! That speed…"
The mont he reappeared, Riku's eyes narrowed. Without even forming hand seals, lightning exploded from his palm.
"Chidori!"
Crack—!
Squelch—!
In the blink of an eye, Riku's hand pierced straight through Orochimaru's chest, lightning tearing through flesh. Blood gushed out violently.
Electric arcs flickered and crackled around Riku's body.
Both Anko and Orochimaru were montarily stunned.
Anko gasped, "That's Kakashi's Chidori! How could he master such advanced ninjutsu?! Kakashi must be insane for teaching him sothing so dangerous—it's way beyond what soone his age should be learning!"
Even Orochimaru hadn't expected Riku to move so quickly.
This ti, it wasn't a clone or decoy—his real body had been pierced.
He looked down at the hole in his chest, blood pouring from the wound where Riku's hand, cloaked in lightning, had torn through him.
But Orochimaru didn't flinch. He endured the pain silently, his mind racing.
This boy's strength… he reminds of Minato.
Just from the flawless execution of the Flying Thunder God, followed by a seal-less Chidori, Orochimaru could tell—Riku's strength was approaching that of the Fourth Hokage.
The man once feared across the battlefield as the Yellow Flash.
Unwilling to back down, Orochimaru twisted his neck unnaturally and lunged from the side, aiming to sink his fangs into Riku's neck.
But Riku stared at him with cool detachnt.
"As expected of a Sannin. That vitality of yours is absurd."
The next instant, lightning erupted from Riku's body like a storm.
Arcs of electricity spread outward, forming a wide electric grid around him.
Thick bolts of lightning twisted and slithered like serpents, and in a deafening flash, they converged on Orochimaru's face.
Thunder bood.
Lightning surged outward in every direction, consuming the terrain in a blinding flash. Trees, rocks, earth—everything within dozens of ters was pulverized.
When the storm finally faded, only a charred corpse lay on the scorched ground.
The entire area had been flattened into a deep crater—ten ters down, and over thirty ters across.
The sheer destructive power of Riku's Lightning Style had eclipsed Chidori by far.
This was Lightning Style: Thunder Net—a technique Riku had developed himself, evolving it from the base principles of Chidori.
It was a dual-purpose jutsu, both offensive and defensive, with S-rank power.
Even the tree Riku now stood on had been scorched black—he had only survived unscathed because he had remained in the "safe zone" of his technique.
From her position far off, Anko was completely dumbstruck.
"What kind of ninjutsu was that…? That's monstrous. There's no way Kakashi taught him sothing like that. And with his chakra reserves… there's no way he should've been able to release a Lightning Style technique that devastating."
"In just one instant… everything within dozens of ters was obliterated. How can such a technique even exist?!"
Anko couldn't believe her eyes. That Riku, still so young, had mastered a jutsu like Thunder Net...
This wasn't sothing even most Jonin could survive. Even a Kage-level shinobi might die if caught in its full blast.
And most terrifying of all—Riku hadn't even used hand seals.
Riku stood quietly on the treetop, but his expression was one of disappointnt.
"Too bad… didn't kill him. Orochimaru really is sothing else—his vitality is insane."
Far away, several kiloters from the impact site, Orochimaru's body reconstituted itself through the power of a cursed seal.
He was pale, weak, barely breathing. But he was alive.
Staring in the direction of Riku, he exhaled shakily.
"That brat… What kind of terrifying ninjutsu was that? It was beyond S-rank."
"And the speed… no ti to react. That lightning—it felt like natural lightning. No ordinary shinobi could defend against sothing like that."
He'd been completely destroyed just monts ago.
But thanks to his cursed seals planted on others, he had managed to transfer his consciousness and survive—barely.
Still, even with that escape, his soul had suffered, and his power would remain weakened for so ti.
