Third Person POV
Lands of Iron, 43.
...
...
The group saw that he had finally arrived, as he stopped in front of the castle. Who was at the castle entrance to greet them was Takeshi Manaka.
As in the last eting more than 2 years ago, nothing had changed in the Land of Iron.
Takeshi Manaka continued to be the leader of the country.
Mifune was still by his side as an apprentice.
"Welco, Lord Mizukage-Sama's group." Takeshi spoke directly to the man in front of him, who wore a hat with the water symbol in blue and white.
This kage certainly beca a mystery the mont he and everyone else from the Land of Iron saw him. His appearance was hidden behind a cloak covering his body, while his face was also hidden by a white mask.
"You must be the Mizukage...", said the Mizukage, with a young voice, surprising Takeshi and Mifune.
"Yes. I am here to take you to the accommodations in the castle. We would like to know if you would prefer to go rest a bit or start the eting imdiately."
Unable to see through the eye slits, the Mizukage simply nodded, confirming, as the ninjas moved forward, accompanying the man.
Inside the castle, all the groups were also observing that arrival. Among them, the Fourth Raikage, who was a bit more experienced in his role, watched from one of the balconies, his eyes narrowing. Certainly, that Mizukage was not quite what he had expected.
"You seem worried, brother," B's voice ca from beside him.
"Of course I'm worried, B. Just as we already started with the Kazekage and the Tsuchikage, who said they were dissatisfied with Konoha's current power, there may also be those who could betray us. That Mizukage doesn't seem like soone we know well enough to tell whether he would go against Konoha or not." He couldn't read the kage's lips with the mask.
"I think it's unlikely, brother. Given the number of ninjas who died in Uzushiogakure, they lost a lot — including most of the Seven Swordsn of the Mist and their forr Mizukage... Besides, their forr Jinchūriki also died... That was a major blow against Kiri."
"I hope you're right. It's no wonder we agreed to this. If we truly want to deal with Konoha, we must all unite, with everyone focused, even risking their lives to make it happen," the Raikage said.
"Speaking of which, go to the others. From what I heard, the eting will start soon, so get ready before soone cos to notify you."
With those words, B left the place.
anwhile, the Tsuchikage also read the lip movents of Lord Takeshi. Onoki observed attentively as he looked at the Four-Tails jinchūriki, who was with him along with his son.
"Stay alert. This eting will be more tense than it appears," he said, before turning his attention back to the unknown man wearing the Mizukage's cloak.
Certainly, there were still people with enough level to beco the new Kage of the Land of Water, but, apparently, a stranger had taken that place. That did not leave Onoki comfortable at all.
Anyway, he returned to his quarters, where his son and Rōshi were.
"Co, we have a small eting to handle."
At the sa ti, the Kazekage was also observing, just like the other Kages, the arrival of Kiri's group. They had also suffered great losses in the war and were in a bad situation, worse than the others...
"You ca, Chiyo," the Kazekage said as he saw the person entering, since he had been summoned to the room, while Rasa kept his eyes on the balcony. With the village as weak as they were at that mont, we need to join them.
"Things are not easy, are they?" Chiyo said with a strangely calm tone, there was more acknowledgnt than frustration.
They had already located Shukaku and were sending forces to try to seal it again. If they had obtained the Uzumaki sealing techniques, they would have had much better chances, but they ended up losing many shinobi in the last months, Shukaku always managed to escape, worsening the problem even more as it killed the ninjas sent...
Even so, they needed to keep sending n, as they were desperate. Suna's situation had never reached such a low point as it was now.
"We will have to support their decisions, without being able to argue much," the Kazekage said in the end.
After all, his village no longer had as much bargaining power as the others. It was in the weakest position, but it was still one of the five great nations, so its opinion should be worth sothing.
Anyway, just like everyone else, the Kazekage also called his people and began to organize, having a small internal eting about that day's encounter.
The samurai appeared in each room, informing how the eting would work. It would be almost the sa as the last one: each Kage could bring only two mbers as guards to accompany them to the room, since it would be an ultra-secret eting. Only trusted ears would be present. The rest of the team would stay in the rooms or outside, guarding the castle itself.
In a eting of this level, he knew that Konoha might already have an idea of what was happening. The village could very well attack with an elite group.
Everyone headed to the room and calmly sat beneath the flags of each of the countries. Takeshi remained as the diator of the eting with his assistant and guard behind him, Mifune, since the Land of Iron occupied a neutral position.
He sat in front of everyone, watching each one enter, place their hat on the table and sit down, while their guards remained behind.
The Kazekage stayed with Chiyo and one more elder.
The Tsuchikage stayed with his son and Rōshi.
The Raikage stayed with Killer B and one more elder beside B.
As for the last one — the most mysterious of all — he drew everyone's attention as soon as he entered. Completely ignoring the stares, he sat down calmly. At his side were a mber of the Seven Swordsn of the Mist and an elder of Kiri, while the Mizukage himself hid his face behind the mask.
"So, Mizukage... aren't you going to introduce yourself?" Onoki couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, breaking the silence as everyone turned their attention to him.
The Mizukage slightly raised his head, but even so, no one could see his eyes or any feature of his face. "You can call Aka.", he said.
"Aka? Just Aka? I don't know that na. I didn't imagine they would appoint soone unknown as Mizukage."
"You can say I'm a bit special. The village never wanted to announce to everyone, because I was trained to be a secret weapon and protect the village," he replied.
"Oh, really? And where were you during the battle of Uzushiogakure?" the Raikage asked with so anger.
"As I said, I am a secret weapon created within the village, in secret. Why should the village place all its bets when it was the most powerful village in the world, with the exception of Konoha? We sent a military force far stronger than any of yours to exterminate the Uzumaki clan. At most, you must be complaining that we could have done more, but your forces were smaller than ours, rember that," he replied, in a young and calm tone.
And he was right, Kiri was indeed the most powerful among the four nations there before the battle of Uzushiogakure. The Seven Swordsn of the Mist, the two jinchūriki and the Mizukage himself ford an extrely powerful force. It was the village that stood out the most among all against Konoha, to the point of dealing with and pressuring the Hokage and the other elder, Danzō, at the ti of the Second War, on the eastern coast of the Land of Fire.
The Raikage rely clicked his tongue. There wasn't much he could say about that — and, deep down, he knew he was right. Even so, the anger of seeing his father being killed by Minato persisted in his mind.
"My lords, I ask that we try to calm down," Takeshi spoke for the first ti, as the room returned to silence. "Let us begin the eting. If anyone else has sothing to say, speak now. I will be the diator of this eting, as last ti."
"No, Lord Takeshi. You may continue," the Mizukage said in a calm tone.
Everyone nodded in silence.
"Well, as all of you know, you requested this eting here, asking for each other's presence for a neutral negotiation..."
"There is sothing I would like to add," the Kazekage interrupted as he rembered sothing, looking at Takeshi.
"You may speak, Kazekage-Sama." Takeshi said.
"Are we sure this place is safe? We don't want to be disturbed here, do we?"
"I sent my n to sweep the southern part of the country," the Mizukage said aloud.
"We did the sa. We sent a tactical force of twelve tracking ninjas to look for any sign of enemies," the Raikage added.
"Even so, there are Konoha ninjas who far surpass any team sent there," the Tsuchikage couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "We must be careful with Konoha's Yellow Flash. I wouldn't doubt that he might try to appear here."
"He is, in fact, dangerous," the Kazekage murmured.
"We don't know where he is right now, but I am sure this place is well protected. My team is a special force," the Mizukage continued.
The other Kage looked at him with so suspicion. He seed too confident. The people he had sent were certainly powerful, but not enough — not against that man.
"Besides," the Mizukage continued, "I have certain information that Minato Namikaze was seen in the Land of Bears yesterday."
Many raised their eyebrows. "How do you know that?" the Kazekage asked carefully.
The Mizukage seed to form a slight smile beneath the mask, his posture revealing a youthful arrogance. "As I said, I am a special ninja," he said, and he truly believed it, judging by his tone of voice.
No one said anything else after that.
"Well, anyway, if the Yellow Flash is far away, he will not be a problem," the Mizukage said, but the Raikage did not seem very convinced.
"You know his teleportation is quite troubleso, don't you? He can simply appear here, and then we will have a big problem." A said.
"Oh? It seems your father's death left you quite traumatized," the Tsuchikage couldn't help but comnt, making the Raikage rise from his chair and glare at him angrily.
"What did you say? At least my father was in the battle, and you left your n alone and survived because you were in the middle of nowhere while we were there fighting!" the Raikage replied, making the Tsuchikage go from an unconcerned expression to one of anger.
"It wasn't my fault I was sent far away by the boy..." he shot back.
"My lords, please. Let us leave the matter of Uzushiogakure behind and think about the future. We have already made many mistakes. There is no point in arguing about this now," the Kazekage comnted.
Both the Raikage and the Tsuchikage looked at him and couldn't help but scoff. Who was he to say anything?
That left the Kazekage sowhat frustrated. He was being looked down on, as if they were saying he was no longer equal to them.
"The Kazekage is right," the Mizukage said calmly, leaning on the table.
The guards rely watched in silence. There was no reason for them to interfere in a discussion between the Kage, as long as there was no real danger. Even so, so exchanged attentive glances here and there. There was anger among them, but silent.
With those words, everyone turned their attention to the Mizukage.
"We are here to unite against a threat that has shattered the balance of the world. There has not been such an imbalance since the mont the villages were founded, when the village of Konoha had the legendary Madara and Hashirama at their peaks... Today, it may very well have beco even more powerful than it was back then, while we have suffered great losses." He made a brief pause.
"We are no longer the experienced ninjas of the Warring States era, who were born in the midst of war in far greater numbers. Many clans within our villages have disappeared or weakened. We are in a terrible situation."
"There has never been such a disparity between the villages. The ninja world is only a matter of ti until Konoha decides to dominate everything. You have already seen what Konoha's elite is capable of. Just five people from Konoha can change an entire war. And even if we send far more soldiers to a possible war than we sent to Uzushiogakure, the result will not change much."
"That is why we need to be united. Otherwise, we will only have to wait until we are completely dominated — or annihilated."
He gave a short speech.
The Kazekage couldn't help but look sowhat stunned, but also satisfied. The Raikage and the Tsuchikage also looked at him before turning their gaze to each other, nodding. They were surprised and even moved by the speech.
They all had a common enemy, and perhaps they should set aside their differences to deal with it. Konoha had beco far too powerful, and they were there to decide what to do to change the situation of the ninja world.
Seeing that they had finally cald down, Takeshi cleared his throat.
"Well, I think we can begin the eting, right?" No one said anything else. The Raikage sat down again, and everyone waited for the speaker to begin.
"Well... then let us talk," he announced.
