'Water Style: Syrup Trap GET!' said Inner Sakura excitedly. 'With this Jutsu, the possibilities are endless!'
The Syrup Trap Jutsu was the divine move invented by Kamizuki Izumo, one of the Chūnin in charge of guarding Konoha's gates! This Ninjutsu allowed one to spit out a large glob of a sticky syrup-like substance, which could be used for crowd control. It was also possible to walk on it unhindered by gathering chakra under one's feet, but one had to be familiar with the syrup's unique texture in order to do so properly!
"Hehehe…" Sakura sniggered, as soon as her back was turned to the gate guardians duo. "You're making it almost too easy for !"
Flash a bit of cleavage, and n were like putty in her hands— it had only taken a bit of bullying for the turbo virgin Izumo to show her how to use his signature Jutsu! And so, having obtained her precious Water Style Ninjutsu at last, Sakura was eager to practise, and conveniently, she now had the opportunity to do so.
Yesterday, Tsunade had given her and her team a week off to recuperate from their long adventure, so Sakura had all the ti in the world to master the relatively easy Ninjutsu… And yet, Sakura had this niggling feeling in the back of her head that she had forgotten sothing very important…
Shrugging off the feeling, Sakura set off for the closest training ground with a spring in her step, but as she wended her way through the village, she spotted a certain spiky-haired blondie up ahead in the road…
It had been a while since Sakura had seen the main character!
"Oi, Naruto!" Sakura shouted, waving her arm at him. "Long ti no see!"
Sakura jogged up to et Naruto, who oddly enough, was accompanied by a tall man wearing a hat and a dark trench coat, but as she drew nearer, Sakura quickly realized that she had made a mistake.
Beep! Detecting major Space-Ti fluctuations!
Firstly, the spiky-haired blonde boy wasn't wearing Naruto's signature orange clothes, and secondly, he had an ahoge sticking out from the top of his skull, making his head look like an apple.
'Ehhh!?' Inner Sakura gasped in shock. 'Don't tell Tenten's not the only one!?'
"Lucky!" exclaid the boy, seeing that Sakura was approaching them of her own initiative. "Would you happen to know where Naru—"
The tall man, whose fringe covered his left eye, abruptly wrapped his arm around the boy's neck and pulled him back, causing him to choke on his words.
"It's nothing," the dark and handso man stamred. "It's our bad— we've made a mistake."
There could be no doubt about it— the boy standing in front of her was definitely Uzumaki Boruto. Sakura knew his face from the 500th episode of Shippuden, and from having read the first few chapters of his manga.
But how in the world was this possible…?
Sakura tilted her head curiously and stared at the man's face— he was definitely an older version of Uchiha Sasuke, her teammate. Could they have travelled to the past like Tenten? No, that wasn't it— unlike her, they had sohow brought their bodies along with them from the future…
anwhile, Boruto and Adult Sasuke were just as confused as Sakura was. They had co from a future where they knew Sakura and her daughter to be as flat as washboards— had they not jumped back to their past due to so malfunction of Karasuki, their ti-travelling turtle device?
Where was the DFC (Delicious Flat Chest) that Future Sasuke had grown to know and love!? In place of the vast plains he had once explored, there were now two Mount Fujis!
Sasuke resisted the urge to open his Sharingan to check the extrely busty pink-haired girl in front of him for the Transformation Jutsu. He and Boruto had co back to the past for a very specific purpose, and they couldn't afford to alter the tiline by doing unnecessary things in the past, like needlessly ddling with the past lives of loved ones!
"Oi!" shouted Sakura, as Boruto and Sasuke turned on their heels and strode away. "Co back here, we weren't done talking! I've never seen you in the village before, so who the hell are you!?"
Instead of answering her, Boruto and Sasuke simply accelerated their pace, so Sakura sped up to catch up to them— and in response, the pair began running away, so she sprinted after them!
Boruto and Sasuke quickly disappeared behind a corner, and…
"Ouch!" Boruto yelped in pain. "Why don't you watch where you're going, instead of standing in the middle of the road, ya know?"
"Huh!? What are you talking about!?" ca Naruto's voice— for real, this ti. "That's my line!"
Sakura ran around the corner, only to co face to face with Boruto and Naruto pointing at each other accusingly, with adult Sasuke trying his best to conceal his face with his trench coat's collar.
"Dad!?" Boruto blurted out, getting a good look at Naruto.
"Who're you calling dad?" said Naruto angrily.
Naruto's expression quickly brightened up upon noticing Sakura.
"Sakura, you're finally back!" he exclaid giddily. "How about a date, to catch up? Ran's on !"
The adult Sasuke's visible eyebrow jumped up in surprise. Naruto wasn't surprised to see Sakura like… like this!?
"Ah, wait, I forgot," said Naruto dejectedly. "I was supposed to have so special training with Pervy Sage today… Ah."
And that's when Naruto finally realized that Sakura was wearing a flak jacket over her regular red tunic. She didn't intend on making the protective clothing a permanent fixture to her outfit, but for the ti being, she wanted to show off the fact that she had been promoted to Chūnin before anyone else.
'And rub it in Ino-pig's nose,' said Inner Sakura gleefully. 'Ooh, I can't wait to see her stupid face!'
"You like?" said Sakura proudly. "I'm the first in our team to beco a Chūnin! Guess you've got a lot of catching up to do, huh?"
"I'm so jealous," grumbled Naruto. "First Shikamaru and Tenten, and now you? This isn't fair, ya know!"
Suddenly, a very familiar voice rang out from behind Sakura.
"SA… KU… RA…!" ca Tsunade's thunderous voice. "I thought I had made it clear that I wanted your mission report on my desk by breakfast!"
'Ah,' said Inner Sakura glumly. 'I knew we'd forgotten sothing…'
First day as a Chūnin, and she had already ssed up… Sakura sheepishly turned around to face Tsunade, who had sohow managed to track her down, and most likely, used Sakura's failure to submit her paperwork as an excuse to skip out on her own work!
"Mhh?" said Tsunade in surprise, as she looked at Boruto and Sasuke in turn. "Are these two acquaintances of yours, Naruto, Sakura?"
While Tsunade wasn't specialized as a sensor, all high-level shinobi were necessarily good at sensing chakra, because their continued survival relied on it. She knew that the tall man in the trench coat in front of her had to be sobody extraordinary, but strangely enough, his chakra was oddly reminiscent of the Uchiha she had known before their extermination…
"We're travelling perforrs," Adult Sasuke offered. "We're here to put on a show."
"Is that so?" said Tsunade, unconvinced. "Well, I'm sure you'll understand that I can't let two strangers wander around unsupervised, so… Sakura, as punishnt for failing to submit your report on ti, I will have you watch these two, understood?"
"Yes!"
