Mount Myōboku
The legendary Land of Toads, one of the three great and mysterious sage regions, standing alongside Shikkotsu Forest and Ryūchi Cave.
Endless mountains, shimring waterfalls, and ancient stone pathways ford a world where giant toads, tiny tadpoles, and countless sages lived side by side.
This was the sacred ho of all the toads ever summoned by Naruto, Minato, and Jiraiya.
At the very peak of this land sat its ultimate authority: The Great Toad Sage, whose age was said to be so vast he had long forgotten when he was born.
For a human to reach Mount Myōboku, there were only two thods.
A month-long trek through secret trails known only to the toads, or the simpler thod — the Reverse Summoning Technique, provided one had a summoning contract.
According to Fukasaku, Mount Myōboku was utterly impossible to reach on foot without knowing the secret route.
And in the ani, young Jiraiya had been accidentally transported here rely by using the summoning technique without even having a contract.
But today… sothing happened that none of the toads expected.
A presence appeared silently on one of the mountain peaks...an uninvited visitor, wearing a mask and a black cloak that fluttered sharply in the wind.
anwhile…
Shima and Fukasaku were both injured and receiving treatnt, their breaths faint but stable.
Even Gamabunta, the proud and irritable chief toad, stood in silence before the Great Toad Sage, reporting the situation with an uncharacteristically serious expression.
The Great Toad Sage's heavy eyelids trembled as if waking from a dream that had lasted a hundred years.
His wrinkled fingers tapped lightly against the arm of his stone seat.
A low breath escaped him.
"…Hmm… I see… so Jiraiya boy…"
His voice dragged like an old river, ancient and hazy, as though every word had to travel through centuries before reaching the air.
The old sage's eyes opened further...still cloudy, but sharper than before.
"Ohhh…? Soone… else…?
A visitor… without a contract… finding their way here…"
His long, deep croak-like exhale echoed across the hall.
"Even in my dreams… I did not see such a thing clearly… This presence… dark… faint…
yet strangely familiar."
Shima paused mid-bandage, her hands trembling.
"…J-Jiraiya… boy…?"
She looked at Fukasaku, eyes widening.
"But… he's already…"
Fukasaku swallowed hard, voice cracking.
"Aye… We all know Jiraiya-chan passed on. Ain't no way he'd be sendin soone here…"
Gamabunta clicked his tongue heavily, lowering his pipe.
"Oi, old man… don't tell sothing from that battle followed his trail all the way here."
"Great Elder…" Shima whispered, her voice shaking,
"Is this… is this sothin' connected to Jiraiya's death…?"
The Great Toad Sage remained silent for a long mont.
"…Prepare yourselves…
for the worst…"
His words vibrated through the hall like a prophecy being etched into stone.
"But…" he continued slowly, "I fear… it may already be… too la—"
FWUM—
A ripple of distorted space twisted the very air.
The temperature plumted.
Shima gasped.
Fukasaku instinctively leapt backward despite his injuries.
Gamabunta's hand shot toward his tantō.
Right in the center of the hall, the air spiraled inward...as though reality itself was being sucked into a whirlpool.
Obito Uchiha didn't arrive alone.
As the spatial distortion settled, two won stepped out behind him, standing calmly at his sides as if they belonged there.
Uzuki Yugao glanced around, her violet eyes widening in genuine awe.
"Hm… so this is the Mount—whatever na you ntioned?" she murmured.
"The natural energy here is so dense… it's amazing."
Terumi i rested a hand on her hip, completely unfazed by the dozens of toads glaring at her.
"It seems the title of the 'Three Great Sage Lands' wasn't for show after all."
She looked around the ancient stone platforms and moss-covered pillars.
"This place really is extraordinary… though it's a bit old-fashioned. Definitely needs so renovation."
Her tone was utterly uncaring — especially for soone speaking in the middle of the toads' sacred holand.
Gamabunta snapped first.
"HEY! What the hell are you guys doing here?!"
With a thunderous leap, the giant toad launched himself toward Obito, blade raised high, hoping to crush them before they reacted.
But—
A clean tallic whisper cut through the air.
Yugao had already stepped forward.
Her Murasaki sword glead with violet light.
"Purple Moon Style — Three Half Moons."
"Nani—?!"
Gamabunta's eyes went wide as her crescent-shaped cuts collided with his slash, shattering his montum and sending the enormous toad crashing backward with a ground-shaking boom.
BOOOOM!
"Gamabunta!!"
The surrounding toads instantly ard themselves.
So dashed to his side, others prepared senjutsu, while a few elders panicked.
"Soone send word to Konoha! About Jiraiya boy's truth—and this intrusion—
we need help—!"
But before Fukasaku could even finish—
A massive red barrier erupted around Mount Myōboku, covering the entire land like a do of blood-red light.
Shima's jaw dropped.
"No… this scale—such a large formation!? How!?"
Obito finally spoke, lifting his mask slightly as if amused.
"It was hard finding this place, you damn toads."
His voice carried no urgency — just annoyance and boredom.
"But since I've already arrived, shouldn't you be treating your guests properly…?"
His Sharingan glowed faintly.
"…instead of trying to run away?"
He turned his head slightly.
"i. Yugao. I'll leave the toads to you. I have sothing else to handle first… alright?"
Both won answered in unison:
"No problem."
Yugao stepped forward like a silent reaper, blade raised.
"Sage Art: Purple Moon — Dead Night."
A violet arc exploded forward, eting Gamabunta head-on as he charged again in fury.
"Nani!? Again—?!"
The giant toad was forced backward once more, disbelief twisting across his face.
"She's using Sage Mode… so perfectly…"
Several toads gasped, horrified at her smooth control of natural energy.
They had no ti to recover.
i smiled, lips curved in a dangerous smirk.
"Sage Art: Lava Style — Dissolving Jutsu."
A torrent of molten, corrosive lava surged toward Shima with frightening speed.
"D-Dammit! Why are they all so proficient in Sage Mode?!"
Shima barely evaded the blast and everything the lava touched dissolved instantly, stone pillars lting like wax, steam exploding upward.
Sweat dripped down her cheek.
This wasn't just an intrusion.
This was an assault by three monsters who wielded natural energy better than most toads.
The red barrier pulsed overhead like a giant heartbeat, sealing all escape.
Shima's expression hardened.
"Everyone! Prepare for battle! We can't let them roam freely!"
Fukasaku jumped to her side despite his injuries, forming seals with trembling hands.
"Right! Let's show these whippersnappers what Mount Myōboku's sage arts really an!"
Gamabunta slamd his tantō into the ground and snarled.
"Bring it on, you bastards!"
Yugao vanished in a violet flash.
Her sword carved a sharp arc through the air—
"Purple Moon Style — Phantom Waltz!"
Gamabunta swung his massive blade to counter, sparks exploding like fireworks.
"Damn woman—!"
BOOM!!
A shockwave blasted outward as the two weapons collided again.
Yugao twisted through the impact, eyes glowing with sage markings, her movents fluid and silent.
Gamabunta gritted his teeth.
"She's too fast—!"
Before he could blink—
"Purple Moon Art — Silent Eclipse!"
Yugao's slash left three faint purple trails hanging in the air—
...and then they exploded.
Gamabunta was blasted backward, sliding across the stone platform, carving trenches beneath him.
"GAH—!!"
i was not to be outdone... she spun gracefully, her palms dripping with molten chakra.
"Sage Art: Lava Dragon Fang."
A dragon-shaped stream of liquid lava launched toward Shima with a roar.
"I ain't lettin' that touch !!"
Shima leapt aside, spitting her own jutsu.
"Sage Art: Frog Song Burst!"
A sonic wave blasted the lava dragon sideways but i's second attack was already aid at Fukasaku.
"Boil Release — lting Mist."
A white-hot acidic mist rolled forward.
"Oi, oi, oi—!"
Fukasaku jumped high, sweat flying.
"That mist'll lt my bones clean off!"
i tilted her head with a smile.
"Oh? Then don't let it touch you."
She snapped her fingers.
SHHHHHHHH!
The mist expanded violently, corroding stone, pillars, even the air shimred from heat.
Fukasaku and Shima retreated together.
"Damnit! She's too precise with Sage Mode—!"
"She's usin' it even better than so of us!" Shima yelled back.
Gamaken charged in with his shield.
"SUPPORTING!!"
Yugao sliced across his shield effortlessly, leaving a glowing scar.
"Nani—?! Even ironhide gets cut!?"
Gamahiro spat oil toward i.
"Oil Bullet Barrage!!"
i didn't even blink.
"Lava Style — Vaporizing Seal."
The oil ignited instantly into a wall of flas.
Explosions filled Mount Myōboku as the battle continued.
--
While the battles outside shook Mount Myōboku, the hall around Obito remained eerily quiet.
The Great Toad Sage sat unmoving on his stone seat, the air around him murmuring with ancient stillness.
Obito walked forward at a casual pace, hands in his cloak pockets, head tilted slightly as he studied the old toad's face.
"So," Obito said lightly,
"did you foresee this? coming here?"
The Great Toad Sage's lids lifted halfway, a tired breath slipping from between them.
"…No…
I foresaw… sothing else…"
His voice was slow, dragging, layered with centuries of sleep and prophecy.
Yet there was a heaviness beneath it… sothing he wasn't saying.
Obito stopped, eyes narrowing behind the mask.
"Sothing else?" he repeated.
"What exactly did you see?"
The old sage did not answer.
Obito stared at him for a mont, then let out a quiet sigh.
"Tch. No need to act so mysterious, you old frog."
He shrugged, almost lazily.
"I know your strength is nothing amazing. Your future sight has limits."
In the ani, the Great Toad Sage predicted a lot of major events… but even he failed to see the full truth behind the later Otsutsuki incidents.
Whether it was due to the limits of his strength, his age, or simply the nature of those beings—it proved that even his foresight had boundaries.
From the very beginning, Obito had been eyeing this ability.
He wanted the Great Toad Sage's future sight for his next plan...not a vague prophecy, but a prediction shaped toward the outco he desired.
Even if he wasn't completely sure it would work…
he couldn't resist trying.
That was why he staged such a massive disturbance this ti.
And honestly?
He couldn't deny that he'd been bored as hell too.
