Little Karin scrunched up her nose as she looked at Tobi's drawing.

Not far away, Chihori watched them with a gentle smile on her face.

And Obito, who had just stepped out of the cave, felt his eye twitch at the scene.

For a long mont, he stood there in silence, uncertain if bringing Tobi in as Karin's playmate was a wise choice. Because if this little idiot started influencing her taste...

"Hmm," Tobi nodded with exaggerated mystery, saying nothing more.

Obito gently handed Karin off to Yugao. The little girl blinked in confusion, clearly betrayed once again.

"I'm going out," Obito said as he turned.

"Well, have a nice trip~" Yugao waved casually with Karin now tucked in her arms.

With a flicker of distorted space, Obito vanished.

In the northern part of the Land of Water, there was a special little village where snow never stopped falling. Even though it was already March, the whole place remained covered in snow.

Once, the people here lived in peace.

But not today.

Today, the pristine snow was stained red.

Outside a house, bodies lay strewn across the white. So still held hoes, so firewood knives.

One unlucky soul had an ice pick shoved through his mouth. Every face was frozen in fear.

"Mom... Mom..."

Inside the house, surrounded by more corpses, a small boy with dark hair sobbed as he clung to a lifeless young woman.

Her blood had long stopped flowing—frozen into brilliant, crystal-like red ice beneath her.

Just then, the space inside the room twisted.

A masked figure stepped out beside the grieving child.

"Oh... huh. Now that's so timing."

Obito tilted his head, taking in the carnage.

"I just happened to notice this kid had ice powers," a voice said beside him.

A White Zetsu erged, arms crossed like he'd just delivered breaking news.

"Figured he was the one you were looking for, so I hit you up quick."

"Only stepped away for half a day and this whole ss happened."

Obito shrugged.

"Well, dead is dead. Not my problem."

Then he looked down at the child curled up at his feet.

By this ti, the black-haired child had stopped crying. He was now staring blankly at the two unexpected guests, his eyes dry and silent.

"What's your na?"

"...Haku."

The child stared at Obito in a daze. After a brief pause, he finally answered.

"How old are you?"

"Four years old."

"..."

Obito looked at Haku, who answered so obediently, and a faint smile curled the corner of his lips.

"Then co with ."

"Where are we going?" Haku blinked, clearly confused.

"To your new ho."

"New... ho?"

Haku's expression froze.

"That's right, a new ho."

Obito nodded, then extended his hand toward the child sitting in the bloodstained room.

"Your ho has been destroyed. But it's okay. I'll take you to a new one."

"There... you'll find a new family."

"How about it?"

"New... family…"

Haku murmured softly. The dull glaze in his eyes flickered, and slowly...hesitantly he raised his small hand and placed it into Obito's outstretched one.

Obito returned to Base 2 with Haku in tow.

He led the child through the cave, past the twisting stone corridor, and stopped before what appeared to be a blank wall. Without hesitation, he walked forward.

As they stepped through the illusion barrier, the space ahead opened up into the wide expanse of the base.

"From now on, this will be your ho."

"Mhm!"

Haku nodded eagerly, his eyes gleaming as he took in his surroundings with childlike curiosity and growing hope.

"Huh~"

Just then, a purple blur appeared in front of them like a flash of lightning.

"Welco back," Yugao said, having arrived with the instantaneous technique. She gave Obito a glance before turning to the newcor.

She blinked. Then bead.

"So cute! Where'd you kidnap such an adorable little girl?"

"...Huh?"

Obito stared blankly, deadpan.

"What do you an kidnap? Can't a man just be naturally charming and loved by children?"
