Second is it's Genjutsu ability, it can let the target fall into an eternal Genjutsu and the last ability is it's sealing ability. With this ability Orochimaru was sealed in the wine pot.

Although Itachi tried his best he couldn't reach the level of Totsuka Blade. Although his weapon has sharpness and Genjutsu ability but Itachi couldn't add a sealing inscription on it, maybe he need to practice more. So, as long as the blade is inside an enemy's body, the enemy would be trapped in the eternal Genjutsu.
