"Kurenai Yuhi, please co with ."

Everyone has their weaknesses. Even soone as loyal to the village and unwavering in her stance as Kurenai Yuhi is no exception. From the village’s standpoint, she should have captured Makino herself and taken him to the police departnt. Just like she promised Kazuki.

But she failed to do so.

People are emotional creatures. The mories of the past caused Kurenai to hesitate, to waver, and in the end, that gave Makino the chance to escape. Unfortunately for him, Kazuki had been waiting for him for a long ti.

’Trying to run? Better ask if the brick in my hand agrees first.’

Efficiently binding the unconscious Makino and carrying him like a small chicken, Kazuki took the silent Kurenai back to the police departnt.

"Lock him up. We’ll interrogate him tomorrow. Also, send soone to notify Itachi and Kaze, tell them the suspect has been caught, and they no longer need to investigate."

"Understood." The officer on duty followed Kazuki’s orders and left the police departnt to inform the two still out in the field.

Kazuki brought Kurenai into the interrogation room and motioned for her to sit down. Casually crossing his legs on the table, Kazuki slouched back in the chair, curling up in a comfortable position.

"I thought you would capture the criminal and bring him to the police departnt yourself, as you promised."

Sitting in the interrogation chair, Kurenai gritted her teeth and kept her head down, choosing to remain silent.

Kazuki spread his hands.

"Failure to report and letting a criminal escape—do you know what that ans?"

If these charges were proven, it would an that Kurenai Yuhi would beco an accomplice.

"I’m sorry. I wanted to take action, but I was afraid of facing Makino’s family." At so point, tears had already begun to stream down Kurenai’s face.

People really are contradictory creatures. But if it were him, could he truly bring himself to act against a loved one? Kazuki didn’t know, but he was certain that if his own family were in such a situation, he wouldn’t be able to do it.

"It’s human nature. I understand. But you might still get involved. Just stay here. Hopefully, when I co to work tomorrow morning, I won’t find an empty interrogation room."

With the suspect caught and Kurenai, who was implicated, brought to the police departnt, Kazuki could finally end his shift.

Working overti wasn’t pleasant. Especially when he was still hungry. He urgently needed to find a place to fill his stomach and then go ho to rest.

"Are you insulting ?"

One mont Kurenai had been crying, and the next, she was like a snarling leopard, her scarlet eyes glaring at him, as if she wanted to bite him.

Failing to fulfill her promise to capture Makino and bring him to the police departnt was already eating her up inside. And now Kazuki had the audacity to warn her not to think about escaping the police departnt.

"I’m not interested in that. Just a friendly reminder, though I see you’re not receptive."

Standing up and stretching, Kazuki shrugged indifferently.

"And one more thing..."

Kazuki leaned in close to Kurenai’s face. Instinctively, she leaned back, glaring at him with anger.

"Don’t look at like that. I can’t promise I won’t do sothing... less than pleasant if you keep it up."

"What? You, a proud mber of the Uchiha clan, police captain, plan to force yourself on ?" Kurenai wasn’t the type to be intimidated. Even though she was a suspect and had been brought to the police departnt, it didn’t an Kazuki could do whatever he wanted to her.

Besides, she wasn’t an easy woman to deal with—at least, that’s what Kurenai thought.

Interesting, Kazuki thought. Much more fun than Shizune, and definitely more interesting than that little girl Izumi.

Kazuki couldn’t help but laugh, standing up straight and tapping the door of the interrogation room.

"Captain?" The officer on duty opened the door.

"Go give that guy I just brought in a... ’greeting.’"

Kazuki looked at Kurenai with a devilish smile.

"As for how to greet him, use your judgnt, but don’t kill him. And don’t cripple him either. For example, breaking all his limbs or injuring his... fifth limb, that’s a no-go. We don’t want to leave him a miserable half-man for the rest of his life."

The officer stood stunned for a few seconds before whispering, "Should we use the equipnt?"

Kazuki rolled his eyes and waved his hand dismissively.

"Sure. Maybe that guy’s constipated. Where else would he get such a temper, killing fellow villagers? Help him ’relieve’ it."

"..."

Captain, are you misunderstanding sothing? When I said ’equipnt,’ I didn’t an that kind of equipnt!

Relieving constipation? We don’t handle that kind of stuff here!

"Kazuki!!!"

Kurenai couldn’t imagine the kind of psychological trauma Makino would experience if he were treated like this because of her.

How would she ever face Makino’s family after that?

"Is there sothing else, Miss Kurenai Yuhi? If not, I’m off the clock."

"I haven’t even had dinner yet because of that guy."

Waving her off, Kazuki was ready to leave.

"Everyone, get ready."

With Kazuki’s orders, the officers were definitely going to follow through. How far they went would depend on Kazuki’s mood. Of course, breaking limbs and all that was just to scare her. The Uchiha weren’t that twisted. At most, they’d just rough the guy up a bit. Not nearly as terrifying as Kazuki made it sound.

"What exactly are you thinking?" Heaven bear witness, this was Kurenai’s first ti at the police departnt. How could she know if they were really that dark?

What if they really went through with it?

If that happened, wouldn’t she beco an accomplice?

"Apologize!"

Kazuki stared at her without expression.

"..."

Kurenai was speechless for a few seconds, but in the end, she gave in to Kazuki’s threat. Lowering her head slightly, she sincerely apologized.

"I’m sorry. I misunderstood you. I hope you can forgive ."

"Not sincere enough."

Kazuki shook his head. "When you apologize, shouldn’t you smile and make eye contact?"

Kurenai: "..."

I swear I’m going to kill you!!

Clenching her fists and holding back her rage, Kurenai slowly raised her head and struggled to force a decent smile.

"I’m sorry. I misunderstood you. I hope you can forgive ."

"Good, now that’s the right tone."

Kazuki clapped his hands.

The officers, who were ready to get started, were utterly confused. What on earth was Captain Kazuki doing?

They, too, joined in the clapping, even though they were baffled.

"You..."

What am I to you? A perforr?

Kurenai’s face flushed with anger, even her ears tinged red.

"But that’s still not enough. If you’re truly sorry, shouldn’t you treat to a al? Like so barbecue, perhaps. You wouldn’t want to see Makino get hurt or targeted because of you, right?"

"..."

At the barbecue restaurant, Kurenai gulped down her drink, feeling like she was about to lose her mind. How had she ended up treating this jerk to barbecue?

Listening to him made her skin crawl. She couldn’t believe the police departnt treated prisoners this way. And she couldn’t believe Kazuki had threatened her like that.

Just because she’d been rude to him, he was going to take it out on Makino?

Explain this to —what does breaking limbs, even the fifth limb, have to do with relieving constipation?

What kind of nonsense is this?
