Konan had indeed delivered a grand "gift" to the Allied Shinobi Forces—a tangible, devastating one.
An explosion that swept through the entire Agakure had undoubtedly left the remaining Allied forces with few survivors. Beyond those unable to continue fighting and the wounded requiring rescue, their numbers were likely even fewer.
"Has the Third Hokage engaged in battle with Uchiha Madara?"
"What a pity, what a pity."
Neither the ANBU operatives nor Shikaku understood what exactly Kazuki ant by "pity."
Kazuki had been hoping the Third Hokage would perish on the battlefield!
Now, it seed unlikely.
Setting aside Kamui’s bizarre abilities, Obito’s direct combat prowess wasn’t particularly strong—so might even argue inferior to the Third Hokage’s. Kazuki could already predict how their battle would unfold: Obito would likely stall for ti using Kamui’s dinsional space, throw in so genjutsu to disrupt his opponent, and perhaps toss in a few half-baked Wood Release techniques as harassnt.
Such tactics wouldn’t be enough to corner the Third Hokage.
The Third might be old, but his strength was undeniable.
For The Six Paths of Pain.
In the original tiline, they had wreaked havoc across Konoha.
Yet now, facing the elite shinobi of the Five Great Nations, they couldn’t even secure kills as freely. The Raikage alone was enough to keep the Deva Path thoroughly occupied.
"Rasa single-handedly held off Sasori’s puppet army? It seems Rasa’s skills are quite impressive."
In the original story, Rasa’s death had been humiliating—ambushed at close range and countered by Kimimaro, whose abilities directly neutralized his Magnet Release. Without Kimimaro, Orochimaru would’ve found killing Rasa far more difficult.
A sha the Kaguya clan were all madn, their bloodline’s incurable disease sealing their inevitable extinction.
"Sir, should we provide reinforcents?"
After a mont of deliberation, Shikaku cautiously posed the question.
"Reinforcents? With what resources?"
Kazuki shot him an irritated glance.
"Our mission is logistics and supply transport. Rember your role. The frontlines are none of our concern—focus on our own tasks. Otherwise, if the battle turns south, we’ll be the ones blad."
"...Understood."
Shikaku opened his mouth, wanting to clarify that he’d rely asked out of curiosity, with no ulterior motives.
But Kazuki had already resolved not to send support. Whoever wanted to go could volunteer.
His duty was supply transport—nothing more. He couldn’t even be bothered to leave the camp.
Once on the battlefield, refusing to fight wouldn’t be an option. Staying put ant adhering to his responsibilities, whereas showing up and not contributing would paint Konoha as a target for the other villages’ resentnt post-war.
And then there was the more pressing issue: Kazuki had no desire to eat dirt—or teors.
While the current situation might seem manageable for the Akatsuki, once the weaknesses of the Six Paths of Pain were exposed, how long could Nagato possibly hold out?
Kazuki couldn’t predict how long the Akatsuki would last, but he was certain of one thing: if the battle turned against them, Nagato’s temperant would inevitably lead to a Chibaku Tensei—or at the very least, a Shinra Tensei powerful enough to level the battlefield.
Only a fool would willingly walk into that ss.
---
On the frontlines, the two factions clashed in a relentless back-and-forth.
Yagura, the Fourth Mizukage, had his sights set on Konan—a high-ranking Akatsuki mber with considerable influence.
"Suiton: Suijinheki!" (Water Style: Water Mirror Technique)
The technique effectively locked down Kakuzu, forcing him to confront a perfect replica of himself. For a mont, the immortal rcenary was at a loss.
But Yagura paid him no further attention. Had Kakuzu not been so aggressively active in the battle, Yagura wouldn’t have spared him a glance. His true target was Konan.
Hoisting his oversized staff, Yagura blocked Konan’s path.
"You’re the one Hanzo captured back when the Akatsuki was still a fledgling group, correct?"
This was old intelligence, and Konoha had long since shared it with the other villages. Thus, the Five Great Nations were well aware that the Akatsuki had once been a righteous organization—until Danzō and Hanzo’s betrayal.
Hanzo had captured Konan to manipulate Yahiko and Nagato, ultimately driving Yahiko to suicide and pushing Nagato into madness. That was how the Akatsuki had transford into what it was now.
Since Konan held such a pivotal role in the organization, capturing her could be the key to pressuring Nagato—or even seizing the legendary Rinnegan, the Sage’s Eyes.
Every village coveted the Rinnegan, and Kirigakure was no exception.
But Yagura was pragmatic: in a direct contest of strength, Kiri stood no chance against Iwa or Kumo. However, this was an opportunity he couldn’t ignore.
Konan’s icy glare burned with silent fury. Yagura’s words had struck a nerve, dredging up mories she’d rather forget.
A blizzard of paper shuriken swirled around them, blanketing the area like snowfall. Yagura glanced upward, amused.
"An impressive technique. But unfortunately... you’re facing ."
BOOM!
A dark red chakra erupted from Yagura’s body.
At this point in ti, only two individuals in the shinobi world could be called perfect jinchūriki:
The first was Killer B, the Eight-Tails’ host from Kumogakure.
The second was Yagura.
Unlike B, Yagura hadn’t achieved this state through the Three-Tails’ cooperation—he had forcibly mastered it, bending Isobu’s will to his own.
Seizing the opportunity, Nagato, Konan, and Obito (disguised as Madara) arrived with the Six Paths of Pain, subduing and brainwashing Yagura.
Had Yagura not been controlled, it was debatable whether i Terumī would’ve ever beco Mizukage.
"Stop hiding. This is pointless!"
Every one of those floating paper sheets could be a clone. Yagura knew that unless he cleared the field, he’d never pin down Konan.
A violent whirlwind tore through the air, shredding the paper storm into confetti and scattering it far beyond.
Yagura wasn’t about to let Konan escape.
This was Kirigakure’s chance to claim the Sage’s Eyes.
Fortunately, the other Kage were too preoccupied with their own battles to notice—otherwise, they’d have intervened instantly.
For now, the Five Kage were united against a common enemy. But if the Rinnegan entered the equation?
The Third Hokage might still keep Obito busy, but the others would undoubtedly shift their focus.
Thankfully, Nagato wouldn’t abandon Konan to fight alone.
A barrage of missiles suddenly rained down on Yagura, forcing him to retreat.
The Asura Path had arrived.
"Damn nuisance," Yagura growled.
