The Daimyo didn’t believe the Third Hokage’s explanation at all, thinking it was an excuse. Enraged, he stood up from his chair and loudly questioned:
"Hiruzen Sarutobi, you know what kind of person Shimura Danzo is. A few years ago, you ca to for help, asking to support Minato Namikaze as the Fourth Hokage. I helped you, and what happened?"
"Danzo’s glare was as if he wanted to kill . You promised to give an explanation, but where is it?"
"That so-called explanation was nonsense."
Afterward, the Third Hokage completely forgot about it. To be precise, he never dealt with it at all.
After the war ended, the village was in chaos, and with Minato becoming Hokage, the Third Hokage had to manage everything and didn’t have ti for such matters.

Kazuki was montarily stunned, then noticed the Third Hokage sharply looking at him.
The ssage was clear: Don’t say anything rash.
The Third Hokage wasn’t worried about others, but Kazuki was unpredictable.
Considering Kazuki had the guts to confront clan elders and openly call Danzo a sewer rat and a viper, without a hint, he might just reveal all of Danzo’s deeds.
"Umm... Danzo-sama is a good person, a very good person."
Even though he had fallen out with Danzo, now wasn’t the ti to make trouble, or it would backfire on him.
Kazuki didn’t want this fire to burn him, better to keep watching the show.
"Rubbish!"
Hearing Kazuki’s words, the Daimyo angrily cursed, his emaciated face trembling slightly:
"You think I’m a fool? You think I can’t gather intelligence on Konoha?"

"Then tell , how would anyone know about the Root departnt of Konoha?"

How the hell would I know where this damn intelligence ca from?
The Third Hokage was instantly speechless.
Not only outsiders, but even within the village, few knew about Root. Even if they did, they had to keep it secret.
Otherwise, the Anbu would definitely co for a chat.
Having vented his anger and cursed, the Daimyo felt he had lost his composure, so he sat down and drank two cups of tea to calm down.
Then he gave the Third Hokage an ultimatum.

The Third Hokage was on the verge of collapse. The Daimyo had brought up the enemy villages, showing his determination.
Either Konoha resolves the issue with Root and Danzo, or he’ll seek protection from enemy villages.
No more funds, making Konoha as self-sufficient as Suna.
Is there a choice?
No, the Third Hokage had to choose the Daimyo and abandon Danzo and Root.
"Hmph, I hope you won’t just placate ."
"Rest assured, Lord Daimyo. I will personally handle this matter. If you’re still concerned, Konoha can provide absolute protection to prevent any incidents."
Let enemy village ninjas protect the Daimyo?
What kind of international joke is this? Not to ntion the implications, just spreading the news would make Konoha a laughing stock.
"Accept your protection? No way, I don’t dare."
The Daimyo rolled his eyes. Danzo wants to kill , and you want to accept your protection? Isn’t that walking into the wolf’s den?
"If the Daimyo is not reassured, the Uchiha can provide protection."
Seeing an opportunity, Kazuki decided to seize it. Maybe he could gain so benefits and give Shisui so tasks.
Instead of letting Shisui join the Anbu and continue as a double agent, it would be better for him to protect the Daimyo.
He could also let Shisui see what kind of person Danzo truly was.
