The sounds of girls giggling and playing drifted from inside.

An old fellow lay flat on the roof, blending perfectly with the tiles as if he were part of the building. Watching the girls playing below, white steam puffed from his nose, and his eyes were wide with excitent.
"This is good, this is good... this will definitely provide a wealth of material for my next masterpiece," he muttered to himself.
No one below noticed him. Suddenly, he turned his head to the side.
"Who are you? Don't you know that interrupting a great author while he's gathering material can have very serious consequences?"
"I've long heard that Lord Jiraiya of the Sannin is a world-renowned lecher. Seeing you now, the rumors really don't do you justice," Tonbo Tobitake said, sounding exasperated.
A man in his fifties, still peeking at won in the bath like a teenager. Truly shaless!
As for Jiraiya breaking his genjutsu and discovering him—as one of the Sannin, he was naturally an expert at dispelling illusions.
Tonbo had finished handling his father and kids for the day and was on his way to work. He hadn't expected to sense soone peeping at the won's hot spring, especially soone with such a massive chakra reserve. He ca over to check, and sure enough, it was him. This was their first real eting, and seeing him in the middle of a "peeping mission" confird that Jiraiya's lecherousness was even higher than imagined.
"What lecher? I am the world-famous Toad Sage! I am gathering material for my writing. I have no interest in feminine charms!" Jiraiya argued.
How could anyone think of him as being so wretched? When he walked down the street, there was a line of won chasing him, okay?
"Besides, you haven't said who you are. You aren't so spy who ca to Konoha, are you? Walking around the village under a genjutsu?" Jiraiya asked seriously.
The person in front of him was strong—especially his genjutsu. He had almost overlooked this person just now. But he was very interested in that technique; it lowered one's presence so effectively that the people below hadn't noticed him at all, even though he was standing right there on the roof in broad daylight.
Unlike Jiraiya, who had to use the Transformation Jutsu and hold a single pose.
"Konoha Jonin, Captain Tonbo—Tonbo Tobitake. Greetings, Lord Jiraiya," Tonbo smiled.
"Captain Tonbo? Oh, you're that famous Captain Tonbo?" Jiraiya said.
"That's right, it's ."
"Never heard of you." Jiraiya shook his head.

Stop acting. You're Jiraiya the Spymaster. Tonbo was speechless. How could a master of intelligence not know his na?
"Well, just kidding. Tonbo Tobitake, right? Kakashi told about you—a very remarkable genius." Jiraiya turned his head back toward the hot spring, losing interest in Tonbo.
"Oh my god! There's a pervert here!" Tonbo suddenly pinched his throat and let out a high-pitched scream.
Silence!
"Ah! Where's the pervert?"
"On the roof!"
"I don't see him!"
"He used a Transformation Jutsu!"
Relying on the fact that ordinary people couldn't see him, Tonbo kept shouting responses. Jiraiya was stunned. Are you kidding ?
Poof!
Realizing he couldn't stay, Jiraiya transford into a toad and hopped away across the rooftops. Tonbo chuckled and followed him.
Behind them, the hot springs were left in a state of chaos.
"You brat! How dare you interrupt Lord Jiraiya's material gathering? If you don't give a good explanation, I'm going to give you a beating!" Jiraiya growled, shaking his fist.
Tonbo Tobitake replied: "As a Konoha shinobi, maintaining order in the village is my responsibility. I apologize, Lord Jiraiya, but it was my duty. However, if you try to peep again, I'll still expose you."
"Tch. You're probably just after my autograph, aren't you? Fine, take out your book, I'll sign it for you. You have good taste, recognizing my work." Jiraiya held out his hand with a look of "I'm such a burden to my fans."
Tonbo was even more speechless. Talk about overconfidence. "I'm a decent man. I don't follow celebrities or writers."
"Forget it. I can tell by your genjutsu just now that you aren't a 'decent' man. Don't play that ga with . Since we're all part of the Konoha family, I'll be direct: I'll trade this latest copy of Icha Icha Paradise for that genjutsu you used earlier. This was originally ant to be a gift for Kakashi." Jiraiya pulled a book from his bag and held it out. His eyes were practically sparkling.
"No thanks. I have to go to work; I'll be late if I don't leave now. Lord Jiraiya, play by yourself. Just stop peeping." Tonbo turned to leave.
Clap!
Jiraiya grabbed his shoulder. "Wait. Hand over the genjutsu first, or I won't let you go."
"Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss."
Tonbo ford a seal, and the world around them began to transform.
"Whoa, darling! I missed you!"
"Big brother, you're so naughty."
"My lord, let serve you."
"You bad boy, I wasn't ready yet!"
"It's the great Lord Jiraiya!"
Various beautiful won appeared all around. Celestial maidens from the heavens, girls in bikinis on the ground—they surrounded Jiraiya and began their "assault."
Pant, pant!
Jiraiya was breathing heavily, his eyes darting everywhere. These were outfits he had never seen before—styles of every kind. Half-revealed, fully revealed, conservative, gentle, seductive, charming... winks, leg-strokes, kisses, seductive gazes...
Pant, pant, pant!
In less than a mont, while Jiraiya was still imrsed in the fantasy, the genjutsu vanished. Tonbo Tobitake was already gone.
"I didn't expect to et soone so well-traveled. I must have that genjutsu!" Jiraiya was ecstatic. Many of those outfits were things he had never seen, which ant Tonbo's genjutsu wasn't the "guided" type (relying on the victim's imagination), but was created based on the caster's own experiences.
As he thought, they were kindred spirits.
If Tonbo knew what Jiraiya was thinking, he would have corrected him imdiately. He was a decent man—a very ordinary, honest man. Those images were just remnants from his previous life; in this life, he was a straight arrow.
But he didn't know. He was currently on his way to the Analysis Division.
Why did Jiraiya co back at this ti?
eting Jiraiya just now was a genuine surprise. Tonbo had thought he wouldn't et the man until Naruto was older. After all, Jiraiya was always outside gathering intel and searching for the Child of Prophecy; he rarely returned to the village.
There shouldn't be any major events happening right now. Could it be that he had caused so sort of butterfly effect, and the plot was changing? He couldn't help but wonder. It was highly likely. Even if he hadn't changed major historical events, his boredom led him to ss with the kids constantly. Furthermore, his high-ranking position would naturally ripple outward. Without him, the Analysis Division's missions would be different, creating a large impact.
Plus, he had gone to Agakure to scout and had even fought Pain. Who knew if that was related? Or perhaps Itachi had done sothing outside? Or Orochimaru?
