Halfway through the winter break, New Year's Eve—the final night of the year—quietly arrived.
In Konoha, the night was usually marked by two simple traditions: eating soba noodles and staying awake until the new year began.
In previous years, Kitazawa had almost always spent the evening with Kurenai.
But this year was different.
After moving into the Senju Clan compound and becoming housemates with Tsunade and the others, the atmosphere had changed completely.
Naturally, everyone decided to stay up together.
As the night grew deeper, Kitazawa picked up the remote and switched on the television.
A mont later, Shizune stepped out of the kitchen, carrying a tray with six cups of water. She placed them neatly on the coffee table.
"Thank you."
Kurenai picked up a cup and smiled faintly, her voice tinged with emotion.
"It's rare for New Year's Eve to feel this lively."
"New Year's Eve is supposed to be like this," Shizune replied, glancing aningfully at Tsunade. "If there aren't enough people around, soone tends to fall asleep before midnight."
Whenever it had just been the two of them staying up together, Tsunade usually dozed off long before the new year arrived.
"Why are you looking at like that?"
Tsunade huffed and flopped sideways onto the sofa, stretching out comfortably.
"Lady Tsunade, with so many people here, you should pay a little attention to your image."
Shizune imdiately protested.
"What image?" Tsunade waved the concern away carelessly. "There are no outsiders here anyway."
Kurenai blinked in surprise, feeling unexpectedly honored.
After all, Tsunade was the Hokage.
For her to say sothing like that ant she considered Kurenai and Kitazawa to be trusted allies—people firmly within the Hokage's circle.
For many ninja, that kind of recognition was sothing they could spend an entire lifeti chasing and never obtain.
Of course, Kurenai knew the real reason.
She was simply basking in Kitazawa's light.
"The sofa's big enough. It's fine," Kurenai said with a gentle smile.
Because six people were living together, Tsunade had chosen the largest room in the Senju compound.
The living room alone had three sofas—a large one in the center and two smaller ones on either side.
At the mont, Tsunade had completely claid the left sofa for herself.
Even so, the remaining space was more than enough for Kitazawa, Kurenai, Shizune, Rina, and Karin.
Shizune hesitated for a mont, as if she wanted to say sothing, but ultimately held back.
That wasn't what she had ant.
Rather… Tsunade's carefree sideways posture was far too… revealing.
It didn't matter much that Kurenai and Rina were won.
But Kitazawa was different.
Still… Kitazawa didn't seem like that kind of person.
Shizune eventually let the thought drop and said nothing further.
"TV programs these days are pretty dull."
After watching for a while, Tsunade yawned lazily.
"If you think that, you could always establish a Film and Television Departnt."
Kitazawa suddenly spoke, an idea forming in his mind.
More than anyone else, he understood the power of propaganda—yet the ninja world paid almost no attention to it.
Whether it was movies, television, or newspapers, none of it originated from Konoha's official channels.
"Is that really necessary?"
Tsunade shook her head.
"Honestly… probably not," Shizune agreed. "For ninja, completing missions is what truly matters. Movies and TV are just entertainnt for spare ti."
"I still think it's necessary."
Kitazawa's tone turned serious.
"This departnt wouldn't just produce entertainnt—it could handle propaganda."
"Propaganda for what?"
Tsunade paused, surprised.
Shizune, Kurenai, and the others looked equally puzzled.
"Konoha could promote the Will of Fire through film and television," Kitazawa explained.
"For instance, we could produce a biographical film about the First Hokage."
Tsunade subconsciously straightened and looked at him.
"Many people in Konoha know the First Hokage's na," Kitazawa continued, noticing her interest, "but they don't truly understand the details of his deeds."
"If his story were turned into a film, more people would learn about him—and about the ideals he stood for."
"That… actually sounds like a good idea."
Tsunade nodded slowly.
"And besides," Kitazawa added with a faint smile, "if ninja were involved in filmmaking, the process would be much simpler—and far cheaper."
"Cheaper?" Shizune asked curiously. "Movie stars are supposed to be very expensive."
"Let give you a few examples."
Kitazawa began explaining how ninja abilities could revolutionize filmmaking.
First, the most troubleso part of any production—special effects—could be completely replaced by ninjutsu.
Second, even a basic E-rank technique could beco incredibly powerful in movies.
The Transformation Technique.
For example, if they wanted to film the life of Senju Hashirama, the lead actor could simply transform directly into the First Hokage.
The technique could replicate not only appearances but also costus, makeup, and props.
Finally, if the Shadow Clone Technique was combined with the Transformation Technique, a single actor could play multiple characters at once.
Production costs would drop dramatically.
Shizune stared at him for a mont after hearing all this.
Then she sighed, half amused and half impressed.
"You really… know how to save money."
"I think it's great!"
Kurenai's eyes lit up as she smiled brightly.
"If we have ti, we could even act in a movie together!"
"What kind of movie would we act in?" Rina asked, looking puzzled.
"A biographical film about the Fifth Hokage."
Kitazawa blinked innocently as he spoke.
"I haven't retired yet."
Tsunade rolled her eyes at him.
"Honestly, a biographical film about Lady Tsunade probably isn't necessary," Shizune added dryly. "There'd be far too many gambling scenes. It would corrupt the children."
…
The corner of Tsunade's mouth twitched.
For once, she couldn't find a proper rebuttal.
"Movies don't have to copy reality exactly," Kitazawa said with a chuckle. "Artistic adjustnts are always possible. We can simply remove the gambling scenes."
"You can keep the gambling," Tsunade suddenly declared, her eyes lighting up. "But only if the film shows winning every single bet!"
"Lady Tsunade!"
Shizune protested imdiately.
"Winning or losing doesn't matter. Gambling itself is the problem!"
Tsunade pouted slightly, privately thinking that Kitazawa was much more agreeable.
Not only did he accompany her to the casino, he even played alongside her. Every trip left her feeling thoroughly satisfied—both physically and ntally.
"Still, Kitazawa's suggestion is quite good." Tsunade shifted her gaze and spoke decisively.
"In that case, the Film and Television Departnt will be headed by Kurenai."
"Huh?"
Kurenai blinked in surprise.
"?"
She had never expected Tsunade to entrust such a matter to her.
Although the Film and Television Departnt sounded unrelated to ninja affairs, once established its authority would theoretically stand alongside other official divisions—such as the Anbu.
In other words, she would effectively beco one of Konoha's administrative leaders.
Perhaps not among the highest ranks, but it would certainly elevate her beyond the position of an ordinary Jonin.
"Kitazawa, Shizune, and Rina already have departnts to manage," Tsunade explained casually. "If they take on another one, they'll be far too busy."
Of course, the deeper reason was simpler.
Kurenai was trustworthy.
And with her relationship to Kitazawa, once he eventually beca Hokage, she would naturally rise to a high-ranking position in Konoha as well.
It was only a matter of ti.
"I think it's a good choice."
Kitazawa raised an eyebrow slightly.
At the sa ti, another thought crossed his mind.
The system mission regarding the New Konoha Three Sannin.
If Sasuke and Naruto were to beco widely recognized figures, publicity would be essential.
Relying solely on word of mouth would be far too slow.
But if this Film and Television Departnt existed, its scope wouldn't be limited to movies or television.
It could produce newspapers, magazines, and other publications.
And once technology advanced further, it could even branch into erging forms of dia.
After all, the Internet already existed in the era depicted in Boruto.
With such channels in place, the issue of propaganda would be completely solved.
"…Alright. I'll give it a try."
Kurenai hesitated for two seconds before finally nodding.
Partly because she didn't want to disappoint Tsunade's trust.
And partly… because it would bring her closer to Kitazawa.
If she remained nothing more than an ordinary Jonin, the distance between them would only continue to grow.
"You can request assistance from the Anbu for recruitnt," Tsunade said with a nod.
There were many ninja in the village. So disliked combat, while others might have an interest in filmmaking.
Gathering a suitable group together would allow the Film and Television Departnt to officially begin operating.
"We could also send soone to the Land of Snow."
Kitazawa suddenly thought of Koyuki Kazahana.
"The Daimyo of the Land of Snow used to be a famous film actress. She has plenty of connections in the film industry."
The Land of Snow and Konoha were already allied.
More importantly, Koyuki Kazahana had beco Daimyo largely because of Konoha's support.
If they requested assistance, she would almost certainly agree.
"Then I'll go there personally after the New Year."
Kurenai spoke with newfound determination.
It was her first ti leading a departnt, and she wanted to do it properly.
"I can send you there using the Flying Thunder God."
Kitazawa nodded.
The six of them continued chatting while watching television, and before they realized it, midnight had arrived.
Rina and Shizune soon returned from the kitchen carrying six bowls of soba noodles.
"Happy New Year!"
The six voices rang out together.
After the brief celebration, they began eating the noodles.
Once the soba was finished, the traditional New Year's vigil ca to an end.
"Good night."
Tsunade cast a brief glance toward Kitazawa before returning to her room.
"Then we'll head to bed too. See you tomorrow."
Shizune, Rina, and Karin stood and left as well.
"Let's go."
Kitazawa and Kurenai returned to their room.
Once the door closed, Kitazawa quietly ford a series of hand seals and erected a barrier around the room.
The barrier served only one purpose—
Soundproofing.
There was little choice in the matter. Whenever Kurenai beca excited, she had a tendency to say all sorts of embarrassing nonsense.
Deep into the latter half of the night, Kurenai Yuhi—utterly exhausted—had already fallen asleep.
Kitazawa carefully slipped free from her embrace before activating the Flying Thunder God.
In the next instant, he appeared inside Tsunade's room.
The room was completely dark.
Without hesitation, Kitazawa reached beneath the blanket.
The next second, his right hand was suddenly trapped between Tsunade's soft thighs.
The warmth and softness of her leg were unmistakable.
Kitazawa raised an eyebrow. Instead of withdrawing, his left hand moved forward and grasped her smooth, shaved pussy.
Tsunade let out a faint, muffled groan.
Her legs instinctively loosened their hold on his hand before both of her hands seized his wrists and pulled him beneath the covers.
Caught completely off guard, Kitazawa was dragged in.
The rest of the night passed quietly.
—
On the second day of the New Year, Kitazawa and the others visited the nearest shrine to offer prayers and seek blessings.
Afterward, Tsunade dragged him straight to the Konoha Casino.
The remainder of the holiday was spent gambling… and occasionally brawling.
By the fifth day, the New Year break had co to an end.
After breakfast, Kitazawa and Kurenai headed toward the Hokage Building.
They had already discussed the Film and Television Departnt on New Year's Eve.
The very next day, Kitazawa had ordered the Anbu still on duty to clear out an office inside the Hokage Building.
Now the room had been fully cleaned and furnished—with desks, coffee tables, and other essentials.
"So, what do you think?"
Kitazawa pushed open the door.
"Does anything else need to be added?"
"Not for now."
Kurenai shook her head.
"If you need anything later, just tell ."
Kitazawa then pulled out another scroll and handed it to her.
"These are the candidates the Anbu identified for recruitnt."
"Thank you."
Kurenai accepted the scroll.
"Do we really need to thank each other?" Kitazawa replied with a small pause.
"Focus on recruiting your team first. Once everyone is assembled, I'll send you to the Land of Snow."
"Mhm."
Kurenai nodded, then added,
"For the Genius Class… could you cover for for the next few days? I'll co back once everything here is settled."
For the ti being, she had no intention of resigning from her position as the Genius Class instructor.
But when the day ca that Kitazawa beca Hokage—
She would leave alongside him.
"You can leave it to ."
Kitazawa nodded. "I'm heading to the Ninja Academy first. If anything cos up, have the Anbu notify ."
At the Ninja Academy training ground, many of the students from the Genius Class had already gathered.
"Kitazawa-sensei, Happy New Year!"
Naruto and the others imdiately called out when they saw him.
"Happy New Year."
Kitazawa replied with a faint smile.
"Why are you here alone today?"
Kosuke asked curiously.
"Lady Tsunade assigned Kurenai a special mission," Kitazawa explained. "So I'll be covering her classes for the next few days."
"I see."
Kosuke nodded and didn't pursue the matter further.
At nine o'clock sharp, the Genius Class resud their special training.
"Sakura, Shion, Karin—co here for a mont."
Kitazawa called out.
"Kitazawa-sensei."
The three girls approached him.
Among them, Sakura looked the most surprised.
Ever since Kosuke had taken over as their instructor, she had been studying water release ninjutsu under him. Kitazawa had rarely paid attention to her, so being singled out today caught her completely off guard.
Shion and Karin were also sowhat puzzled. Both of them were still deeply focused on improving their dical ninjutsu, and neither expected a sudden change in training.
"You can pause your current training for a while," Kitazawa said with a smile.
"I'll teach you Monster Strength first."
"Monster Strength?"
Sakura's eyes imdiately lit up.
"Do you an Hokage-sama's Monster Strength?!"
"Is there another kind?" Kitazawa replied dryly.
Sakura scratched her head sheepishly.
Among all kunoichi, the one she admired most was Tsunade. Now that she had the chance to learn Tsunade's signature technique, she could barely contain her excitent.
Shion and Karin were not quite as enthusiastic as Sakura, but they were still pleasantly surprised.
After all, Monster Strength was the signature combat technique of Konoha's Fifth Hokage—the greatest dical ninja in the shinobi world.
"The core of Monster Strength lies in precise chakra control," Kitazawa began.
His teaching thod followed a familiar three-step process.
First, a demonstration.
Second, a detailed explanation.
Finally, a Shadow Clone remained behind to guide the students through their practice.
Fortunately, Sakura, Shion, and Karin already possessed excellent chakra control.
After all, anyone capable of learning dical Ninjutsu or Sealing Techniques naturally had extrely refined chakra manipulation.
The only real difference would be the power of their Monster Strength once mastered.
Shion and Karin would almost certainly produce stronger results than Sakura.
The reason was simple.
They possessed far greater chakra reserves.
Shion carried the mysterious power of the Land of Demons, while Karin was a mber of the Uzumaki Clan, renowned for their imnse chakra and vitality.
By comparison, Sakura lacked any special bloodline or innate power.
However, her talent and discipline were exceptional.
In a few years, she could learn the Yin Seal, allowing her to accumulate chakra in another way.
After finishing the lesson and leaving his Shadow Clone to supervise their training, Kitazawa headed toward the Forest of Death.
The sparring match between Sasuke and Naruto was already underway.
Kitazawa observed the battle for a while before beginning his own practice.
But not long after, he suddenly sensed an extrely gloomy surge of chakra erupt nearby.
Kitazawa's eyes sharpened.
In an instant, he vanished with the body flicker technique.
The next mont—
He appeared directly in front of Sasuke.
The battle had already stopped.
Naruto stared at Sasuke's eyes with a shocked expression.
The familiar Three-Tomoe Sharingan had disappeared.
In its place was a six-pointed star pattern.
"Kitazawa-sensei!" Naruto quickly asked, "What happened to Sasuke's eyes?"
"It's nothing serious," Kitazawa replied calmly.
"This is simply an advanced form of the Three-Tomoe Sharingan—the Mangekyō Sharingan."
"I… awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan?"
Sasuke subconsciously looked up.
Monts earlier, Naruto had once again overwheld him in battle.
Frustration and anger had surged through him—
And suddenly, a new power erupted from within, forcibly pushing Naruto back.
Afterward, his vision blurred, and his eyes began to throb with intense pressure.
"Mm."
Kitazawa nodded.
"Close your eyes. Calm your mind. You should receive information from the Mangekyō Sharingan itself."
Sasuke imdiately followed the instruction.
The mont he did—
A torrent of information flooded into his mind.
These were the ocular abilities awakened by his Mangekyō Sharingan—two unique techniques born from the depths of his own psyche.
When the flood of knowledge finally subsided, Sasuke stood there in stunned silence.
Then—
He suddenly clutched his forehead.
"Hahahahaha!"
Maniacal laughter burst from his throat.
The quiet Forest of Death echoed with it.
Naruto scratched his head in confusion.
He had no idea what Sasuke found so funny.
But Kitazawa understood.
Sasuke was laughing because of the abilities he had just awakened.
The only question was, what kind of Mangekyō techniques had he obtained?
At that mont, three lines of text suddenly appeared before Kitazawa's eyes.
His heart stirred.
As Sasuke awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, the system mission had also been completed.
[Current Mission: Help Uchiha Sasuke awaken his Mangekyō Sharingan]
[Mission Reward: Mangekyō Sharingan]
[Mission completed. Reward issued.]
