Ti flew by, and in the blink of an eye, ten years had passed since Akio secluded himself to train.
By the seaside, Akio stood with a grave expression, as if gathering power.
"Chibaku Tensei!" With a loud shout, the surrounding ground trembled and gathered. In the air before him, a sphere about five ters in diater began to form.
"Phew..." Akio's face flushed red as he exhaled and released his jutsu. The stone sphere fell to the ground and shattered into pieces.
Akio shook his head with a bitter smile. "What kind of Chibaku Tensei is this? Forget capturing a Tailed Beast—I'd have trouble trapping a person."
Though he called it Chibaku Tensei, Akio didn't actually possess the Rinnegan. It was rely a technique he devised by combining his Earth Release and Lightning Release, both of which had reached level eight. By manipulating gravity and magnetism, he could briefly generate a force field.
Akio had managed to imitate Rinnegan techniques like Shinra Tensei and Banshō Ten'in to so extent, though they required the enemy to be within twenty ters. Besides consuming a lot of chakra, they didn't have the original five-second cooldown limitation. But Chibaku Tensei was a different story—his version fell far short of the real thing.
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" After a few deep breaths, Akio ford hand seals and released one of the most basic fire techniques.
Despite being just a Great Fireball, its size nearly rivaled Madara Uchiha's Majestic Destroyer Fla. The ocean before Akio evaporated in a vast section from the heat.
This was the result of his level-eight Fire and Wind Release amplifying the technique's power considerably. And more than that—
The Great Fireball surged forward across the sea for a hundred ters, then suddenly changed direction, shooting upward into the sky.
This was another effect—Akio had used Wind Release to pre-program a directional shift into the Fire Release. Though it could only be set once, it was imnsely useful in the right situation.
"It's not that amazing though. At level eight, combining Lightning and Water Releases can create Storm Release," Akio muttered with a sigh.
To Akio, Water Release at level eight seed the least useful. It allowed him to move at high speeds underwater, just as easily as on land.
"What good is that? For fighting Kisa?" he grumbled. "But... it's only been less than two years since I hit level eight in all five base elents. Maybe there's still more to discover…"
Over the past ten years, Akio had endured eight of them conserving Witness Points just to save around fifty.
The bigger problem was his age. At over sixty, it was hardly ideal for intensive training, so any progress at all was sothing to be grateful for.
He had nearly used the points to reduce his age but stopped himself—who knew when he'd have another chance to earn more?
"These fifty points weren't saved in vain. I only got fifty from the Valley of the End. What's a bit more ti? Ti is the one thing I have in abundance."
He glanced at his status screen:

Witness Points: 150
"Only a hundred and fifty left?" Akio sighed, feeling they still wouldn't be enough.
Two years had passed since he reached level eight in all seven attributes. He had hoped this would unlock four- or even five-elent fusion techniques. Instead, it had only massively enhanced his control over jutsu.
For example, previously, he could only make himself fly or lift objects in direct contact. Now, he could levitate most things within a twenty-ter radius.
"Still... I feel like I've been doing sothing foolish…" Akio shook his head helplessly.
Since reaching level eight in all five base elents, he had continued using them frequently over the past two years. Yet, they hadn't improved at all.
Akio had always believed that with enough talent and lifespan, a ninja could continue to grow stronger indefinitely.
But over the last two years, he'd realized there were limits.
For instance, his physical body seed capped at level eight across five elents—likely due to his Uzumaki heritage and the boost from his level-eight Yang Release.
"The limits of a mortal, huh?" Akio gave a bitter chuckle. "If not for these Witness Points, even with all the ti in the world, I might never go beyond this. Or maybe…"
He suddenly recalled Orochimaru's experints in the original series—body modifications, bloodline transplants, Hashirama cells…
"That path might break the body's limits… though it would turn into sothing not quite human…"
"Luckily, I probably won't need to go that far."
Akio muttered, feeling a bit relieved at the thought.
"Still, if I'd known earlier, I wouldn't have spent those Witness Points so freely. Even if it took twenty or thirty more years to grind everything to level eight, I could have made it…"
"Well, whatever. With all five basic elents at level eight, my rating finally reached SS. And if I'm right, human limits can be broken. Once my Yang Release hits level nine, I might unlock a Sage Body like Hashirama's…"
"So now the real problem is: where do I get the remaining 250 Witness Points? Wait... 250?"
Just then, a ssage appeared before his eyes:
*"Witnessed and lightly participated in a major shift in Naruto world's main plotline: First Great Ninja War – Received Witness Points: 50 (/8) (8)"
"There's rewards like that?" Akio froze for a second, then broke into a wide grin.
"I only took part in the beginning, so it was divided by eight. But since I saved Tobirama and changed the entire course of the war, it was multiplied back. So I still got fifty."
"And... the First Great Ninja War is finally over."
Over the years, Akio hadn't stopped keeping tabs on the world.
After saving Tobirama, things had indeed changed. With Mito's deterrence, Sunagakure didn't dare make a move. Tobirama, in Konoha's 14th year, launched a proactive attack on Kumogakure. Had the Cloud not released the Two-Tails and Eight-Tails in a desperate last stand, Konoha might have annexed them entirely—turning the Five Great Nations into Four.
Even so, Kumogakure was forced to pay enormous reparations. As Akio put it, their economy regressed by twenty years.
This was now only the 16th year of Konoha. Akio had thought the world would calm down by this point. Kirigakure and Iwagakure had also slowed their conflict after both Kage died in battle. Akio even regretted not confronting Mu before his death.
But unexpectedly, the smaller nations launched a "Final Rebellion."
Agakure tried to rise and replace Kumogakure. Takigakure allied with Kusagakure in hopes of usurping Iwagakure's status and becoming one of the Five Great Nations.
"But clearly, they failed…" Akio sighed. Agakure didn't suffer much—Kumogakure was too weakened, and Hanzō was still around. But Takigakure was nearly annihilated by Onoki, who had finally mastered Dust Release.
The war dragged on sporadically and had only now truly ended.
"So the Five Great Nations remain unchanged. Konoha's a bit stronger than in the original tiline, but the big picture hasn't shifted much. The trickiest part now is Konoha itself—I have no idea how the story's going to unfold."
Akio let out another sigh. Without foreknowledge of events, he had no idea where he'd find more Witness Points.
