Kushina was watching Namikaze Minato's squad train while Minato himself drilled Kakashi and the others.
Her eyes were full of envy.
After graduating from the Ninja Academy, the village had forbidden Kushina from leaving Konoha. In fact, she wasn't even allowed to leave the Nine-Tails Barrier.
Her two teammates had been caught up in it as well. They had barely gone on any shinobi missions before being sent early to Konoha Hospital to study dical ninjutsu.

Before he could ask, Fox's hand landed on his shoulder.
