--------------------------------------------------

[For readers unfamiliar with the Naruto movie canon regarding the moon: the Ōtsutsuki clan on the moon split into two factions—the Main Family and the Branch Family. The Branch Family eventually sacrificed all their collective Byakugan to forge a single Tenseigan, then used its power to annihilate the Main Family. As for Hamura's dying wish, the original intent was for his descendants to quietly watch over and protect the Earth. The Main Family understood this correctly. The Branch Family... interpreted it differently. Very differently.]

Main Family heard: "Protect. Preserve. Guard."

Branch Family heard: "Burn it down and start over."

..............

The lunar surface.

Two armies facing each other across a crater plain.

The final confrontation between the Ōtsutsuki Main Family and Branch Family had arrived.

The Branch Family patriarch raised one hand. Behind him, his people moved as one, carrying forward an enormous sphere—dormant, dull, but radiating a potential that made the air itself feel heavier.

The Tenseigan.

Forged from the combined Byakugan of nearly every Branch Family mber. An eye containing enough destructive power to reshape the world.

"TODAY, I WIPE THE MAIN FAMILY FROM EXISTENCE!" The Branch patriarch's smile was thin, sharp, and utterly unhinged.

"Have you forgotten the ancestral mandate entirely??"

The Main Family patriarch roared back, veins bulging at his temples.

"Forgotten? We rember perfectly. It's YOUR version that's been corrupted."

The Branch patriarch's voice dropped to sothing cold and precise.

"The TRUE ancestral command was clear. If the Earth descends into endless warfare, we are duty-bound to destroy it. Kill the Sage of Six Paths' legacy. Annihilate the old world. Build sothing new from the ashes."

"You're INSANE!"

The Main patriarch's fists clenched. "If that's your answer, then the Main Family will carry out Ancestor Hamura's will ourselves—by putting you down!"

"Ōtsutsuki! Follow ! Main Family first, then we take the Earth!"

The Branch patriarch swept his arm toward the Tenseigan.

HMMMMM!!!

The dormant sphere detonated into light.

Gold-white radiance erupted outward in concentric waves, flooding the lunar surface, pressing against everything with a force that made the ground tremble and loose stone rattle. The pressure was suffocating, bearing down on every living thing within range like the weight of a collapsing star.

"What... what IS this??"

The Main patriarch staggered backward, face draining of color. The power radiating from that eye dwarfed his worst projections.

The Branch patriarch's grin widened. He'd kept the Tenseigan hidden and inactive until this exact mont for precisely this reason. Activating it early would have given the Main Family ti to detect the energy signature and retreat. The surprise was the weapon as much as the eye itself.

"HAHAHAHA! This power can destroy the entire world!"

The Branch patriarch's laughter echoed across the dead lunar plain, wild and uncontained.

"STOP THIS! That power isn't sothing you can control! One mistake and you'll trigger an extinction-level event!"

The Main patriarch scread, all pretense of composure abandoned. He didn't care about himself anymore. All he could see was a world teetering on the edge of annihilation because a madman had gotten his hands on a weapon too big for his ambitions.

"Blood and fire is EXACTLY what I want!"

"Worst case? We crack the moon in half! So what??"

The Branch patriarch's eyes had gone glassy with power-drunk euphoria. He activated the Tenseigan's offensive mode.

The sphere convulsed. Its gold-white output spiked to blinding intensity, drowning out everything, every shadow, every detail, every face.

The Main Family fighters dropped to their knees. Faces grey. Eyes hollow. This was the end.

Is this how we et Ancestor Hamura? On our knees, watching the world die?

Then a voice cut through the chaos. "Crack the moon in half? Bold words..."

It ca from above.

It carried an authority so vast and so natural that the Tenseigan's pressure seed to flinch from it.

"WHO?? Who's there??"

Both patriarchs whipped their heads skyward, faces cycling through shock, fury, and sothing deeper.

A figure hung in the empty lunar sky. An old man. Robes drifting gently as if caught in a breeze that didn't exist on the airless moon. No chakra signature. No detectable energy of any kind. He blended into the void so seamlessly that looking directly at him felt like trying to focus on a shadow.

And yet.

Every person on the battlefield felt their heart seize at the sa mont. Not fear in the ordinary sense. Sothing more fundantal. The instinctive recognition that a predator infinitely beyond their comprehension had just entered their field of vision.

"IDENTIFY YOURSELF!"

The Branch patriarch barked upward, his hand still locked on the Tenseigan's control interface, knuckles white.

"Another combatant..."

The Main patriarch's reaction was more asured. His bleached-out eyes studied the stranger, and behind the caution, a fragile spark of hope flickered.

The old man's aura was clean. Serene. Nothing about him suggested bloodlust or malice. If anything, he felt like the calst thing on the entire moon.

Maybe—just maybe—this was the intervention they needed.

Manji looked down at the two factions arrayed below him.

Both patriarchs felt the blood leave their faces simultaneously. A sensation like being stripped naked in a snowstorm washed over them, followed by the bone-deep certainty that every thought they'd ever had, every sche they'd ever conceived, every secret they'd ever kept, had just been read, catalogued, and filed away by sothing that considered their existence only marginally more interesting than furniture.

It wasn't limited to the leaders. Every Ōtsutsuki on the battlefield—Main and Branch alike—felt it. Even the ones the old man wasn't looking at. A universal, involuntary paralysis, as if the atmosphere itself had tightened around their lungs and politely suggested they stop breathing until further notice.

Manji observed the frozen tableau below him.

"Who are you?" The Branch patriarch forced the words out a second ti, voice cracking at the edges.

Manji spoke a single word.

"Sage." The syllable hit the battlefield like a physical force. Intangible force thundered from above, denser and heavier even than what the Tenseigan could create. The very air was compressed by the weight of that one word.

"You!!!"

The Branch patriarch's face twisted with rage and wounded pride. His ego couldn't tolerate the dismissal. One word? That was all this stranger thought the situation warranted?

Fine. Perfect timing, actually. He'd been itching to test the Tenseigan at full power.

He wrenched his control over the massive eye, aid it at the floating figure, and fired.

A beam of gold-white destruction scread upward, tearing a seam through the void, carrying enough raw power to crack a continent in half.

"DIE!"

"How rude."

Manji didn't move.

The beam reached him. Made contact with the space around his body.

And stopped.

Not deflected. Not dodged. Not blocked by a barrier or a technique or anything visible at all. The extinction-level attack simply... lost montum. As if the energy had run into sothing so fundantally beyond its capacity to affect that the concept of "impact" ceased to apply. The beam thinned, dimd, and dissolved into nothing, absorbed without ripple or residue.

"WHAT??"

The Branch patriarch's composure shattered like dropped porcelain. He stared at his own weapon, then at the perfectly untouched figure floating above it.

A full-power Tenseigan strike. Erased. Like blowing on a candle.

Manji flicked his sleeve. The Rinnegan opened—concentric violet rings turning with slow, ancient gravity—and locked onto the Branch patriarch.

Then Manji vanished from the sky.

He reappeared standing directly beside the Tenseigan. Close enough to touch it.

The transit had been instantaneous.

"The Tenseigan... Fascinating piece of work."

Manji studied the massive eye with genuine interest, his Rinnegan reflecting its gold-white glow. One hand rose, fingertips hovering a few inches from its surface.
