Chapter 333: The Person is What Matters

After hearing Hikari follow up with "the wind is also very gentle," Karin felt like her whole world was shattering.

Crack!

Karin felt as if she heard the sound of her own heart breaking, or perhaps the sound of her entire worldview collapsing.

She completely lost control of her expression; her mouth hung slightly open, and her eyes behind her glasses were wide and round, filled with disbelief, shock, frustration, and despair.

The color seed to drain from her cheeks as she froze there, as if a paralysis jutsu had been cast on her, or like cold water had suddenly been poured over her from head to toe, leaving even her fingertips slightly chilled.

They... they really...!

In just those few minutes while I was heating up the food?!

What crucial turning point did I miss?!

I was clearly here first!

Karin felt her mind in a state of chaos, a storm of emotions making it almost impossible for her to think.

She didn’t even notice that her "world-collapsing" daze had fallen completely under the gaze of Naruto and Hikari.

Almost simultaneously, Naruto and Hikari withdrew their gaze from the moonlight and turned toward the petrified Karin.

Two pairs of eyes—one with a gentle smile and a hint of subtle playfulness, the other still cool and calm but seemingly holding sothing more—rested upon her at the sa ti.

Karin jolted under those two gazes, suddenly snapping back to her senses.

Th-they’re looking at !

Why are they suddenly both looking at ?

Is it because... I’m an eyesore... being here?

A thought that broke her heart even further surfaced. Could they find her redundant, thinking she was interrupting their private moon-viewing ti?

So they’re using their eyes to hint for to leave?

This thought made Karin’s nose sting, and she almost burst into tears on the spot.

She forced herself to endure it, lowering her head and unconsciously twisting the hem of her clothes, feeling incredibly wronged and embarrassed.

Just then, Naruto’s voice rang out, his tone still gentle, without any hint of impatience or a desire to drive her away:

"What do you think, Karin?"

As he spoke, he picked up the teapot, refilled a cup with warm tea, and gently pushed it in front of Karin.

"The moonlight, and tonight’s wind."

He added, looking at her with a smile in his eyes.

Karin looked up abruptly, eting Naruto’s eyes.

Naruto-kun is...

The grievance and despair in her heart receded slightly, but the confusion and tension remained.

She hurriedly took the teacup; the warmth of the cup against her fingertips cald her down a bit.

"It’s... very beautiful..."

She lowered her head and repeated her previous words in a small, dry voice; her tone was tight, completely lacking her usual liveliness.

"The moonlight... and the wind... are both very wonderful..."

She really didn’t know what to say, her mind still a muddle, so she could only echo him chanically.

Naruto didn’t seem surprised by her reaction. He smiled, picked up his own teacup, looked at the Hokage Rock in the distance under the moonlight, and said in a lighthearted tone as if planning for the future:

"Then... we should co to view the moon often in the future."

However, Hikari, sitting on the other side, gently shook her head at this mont.

"No."

Both Naruto and Karin looked at her.

Hikari didn’t look at them, only gazed at the moon, saying calmly:

"If we view the moon every day... we’ll get tired of it.

No matter how beautiful sothing is, if you see it too much, you’ll lose that initial spark."

She paused, seemingly weighing her words, before continuing:

"Just once in a while is enough.

At special monts, or when the mood is right.

That way, every ti will feel precious, and the mory will be profound."

Karin’s hand tightened around her teacup.

Was she talking about the scenery or the person?

Hearing this, Naruto smiled and waved his hand, expressing disagreent.

"No, that won’t happen."

His tone was certain, carrying an unquestionable warmth and conviction.

He put down his teacup, his gaze sweeping over Hikari beside him, then glancing at the still-distracted Karin, before finally looking back at the bright, clear moon. His voice wasn’t loud, but it reached both of them clearly, carrying a strange, soothing power:

"When you’re with soone important..."

"Even the wildflowers by the road, the inconspicuous moss in the corner, or even a muddy path on a rainy day..."

He smiled slightly.

"As long as the person beside you is the right one, then in that mont, the scenery you see is the most beautiful."

His gaze beca deeper:

"The important thing has never been how beautiful or rare the scenery itself is."

"What matters... is the ’person’ viewing the scenery with you."

"As long as the person is right, even if you look at the sa moon and feel the sa evening breeze every day, every experience will be fresh and wonderful.

Because... the act of sharing ti and feeling each other’s presence is, in itself, the most beautiful scenery."

"The Kurama Clan?"

Naruto rubbed his chin.

After a brief thought, he rembered the uniqueness of the Kurama Clan.

This clan’s Bloodline Limit seed to allow genjutsu to affect the real world.

Sakura nodded.

"Yes. After giving so pointers, Kurenai Yuhi-sensei said I have a strong talent for genjutsu and genjutsu resistance. Later, I learned from Lady Tsunade that it’s because of my second personality.

And Yakumo Kurama seems to have a similar problem.

Lady Tsunade said my second personality is getting weaker and weaker. When Kurenai-sensei found out, she asked if I could tell her the thod of weakening the second personality so she could solve Yakumo’s problem.

But I’m not really sure what’s going on either..."

"Do you want to help Yakumo Kurama deal with her Heart Demon?"

Naruto saw through Sakura’s intention.

"Yes, Naruto... if possible, I’d like to ask for your help."

Sakura felt that her relationship with Naruto wasn’t as deep as Ino’s and the others, and he was already very busy as the Hokage, but she really couldn’t find anyone else.

Her Jonin instructor and other teammate had gone to the front lines, and her teacher, Tsunade, couldn’t help either.

The strongest Ninja she knew was Naruto.

He had just returned to the Hokage Office and was about to leave again.

Naruto controlled his expression, trying not to laugh.

Actually, I really want to work.

What a pity!

"Go back and get busy first. I’ll go ask the Third Hokage. He should know about this, since she’s the heir of a Bloodline Limit Family."

By the way, I’ll go see how the old man is doing; I haven’t seen him in a while.

With the Second Hokage around, the old n in the village probably won’t be causing any trouble.

"Once I understand the full situation, I’ll decide how to approach and handle it."

"I understand!" Sakura was overjoyed; she hadn’t expected Naruto to actually agree, and she nodded vigorously.

Watching Sakura’s departing back, Naruto turned his gaze out the window again, his eyes thoughtful.

Yakumo Kurama... interesting.
