Now reading: Chapter 172 172: A Summoned Beast Courting Death from Naruto : The White Lightning Reincarnator, a Action novel by chakraflow789.

In terms of reputation and sheer notoriety, the pairing of Fuguki Suikazan and Sahada naturally drew the focused attention of Kirigakure shinobi.

What no one expected was that—after barely two exchanges with the first Konoha ninja to breach the base—Fuguki would already be dead.

The mistake lay in his obsession with absorbing chakra.

Modern combat required watching where you stepped.

Otherwise, it was very easy to step on a mine.

And once you did—

There was no second chance.

The iron sand Hagoromo had scattered at the very beginning was never guaranteed to be used.

It was rely a backup trap—sothing that might co into play, or might never be triggered at all.

But the mont Fuguki's foot landed—

The iron sand on the ground reacted instantly.

Like a carnivorous plant opening its maw.

Like a tentacle monster spotting a beautiful woman.

As iron sand spikes pierced Fuguki's vital points, other portions transford into chains, clamping down on him with terrifying precision.

Each chain was anchored firmly into the ground, the middle segnts twisting around Fuguki's body.

No matter what he did, escape was impossible.

This, too, was a craft.

Hagoromo had once systematically trained in binding techniques under the renowned Sarutobi-clan kunoichi Sarutobi Shōbu, practicing simulated restraints.

tal chains, when used with counter-joint leverage and reverse torque, could control an enemy with the solidity of molten steel.

Which ant—

No matter how powerful Fuguki's swings were, he could neither break free nor strike Hagoromo.

And beyond that—

Chains charged with electricity, forming a high-voltage electromagnetic trap, were never sothing brute force could overco.

Under that level of electrical stimulation, Fuguki couldn't even properly focus chakra.

All things had natural counters.

Even sothing as mighty as a Gundam would run away if it ran into Sakura Mana.

Humanity's natural enemy was always humanity itself.

A ninja's natural enemy was another village's ninja.

And for the Seven Ninja Swordsn of the Mist, their bane might very well be sothing called "Lightning i."

At this point, two of the Seven had already died to this technique.

However, Hagoromo's "Magnet Release–style" ambush would likely only work once.

The next ti, achieving a one-strike kill would be far more difficult.

Unlike the fight against Biwa Jūzō, this battle had many witnesses.

Which ant—

The technique's intelligence had already leaked.

Future Kirigakure shinobi would almost certainly take precautions.

In truth, there were many viable ways to deal with Hagoromo:

Large-scale techniques like Lava Release or Boil Release

Ultra-high-speed taijutsu like the Raikage—or later, Might Guy

Or, the most difficult option—go full cheat mode like Nagato

…Granted, none of those were easy.

Which only proved Hagoromo's strength.

Ironically, his strongest combat thod didn't rely on chakra at all.

At this mont, Hagoromo held Sahada in his hand.

The sustained electric discharge had likely caused internal damage, and the sword-beast had gone quiet, shrinking back to its original size.

The blade was genuinely heavy.

Hagoromo's fighting style favored agility, and even wielding Sahada with both hands felt clumsy.

He imitated Fuguki's earlier posture, dragging Sahada behind him.

To prevent it from suddenly turning around and biting him, Hagoromo maintained a controlled electrical current flowing into it at all tis.

As a result, Sahada now looked like an oversized chakra blade, wrapped in crackling lightning.

Absorbing Hagoromo's chakra was impossible anyway—

Because he wasn't using chakra at all.

Dragging the blade forward, the serrated tip scraped along the ground, flinging stones in all directions.

Slow at first—

Then faster.

With inertia and the steady drive of his legs, Hagoromo accelerated even while hauling sothing longer than himself.

That image—

A masked Konoha ninja dragging a lightning-wreathed Sahada straight into enemy ranks without hesitation—

Was enough to make nearby Kirigakure ninja instinctively retreat.

Fuguki Suikazan had been a famous figure in Kirigakure, a recognized powerhouse.

And now?

He'd been skewered into a bloody gourd by this very man.

Coupled with Hagoromo's initial rampage through the base—

So Kirigakure shinobi, recognizing they couldn't face him head-on, instinctively chose to evade.

Less experienced—or ntally unprepared—ninja, however, found themselves overwheld by the fear and pressure radiating from the white-masked "Yaksha."

They weren't frozen in place—

But their legs went soft.

The enemy Hagoromo now faced—

Whether intimidated or overconfident—

Did not dodge.

He chose to counterattack.

Hagoromo halted abruptly, power flowing from heels to waist to arms.

Using both montum and raw strength, he swung Sahada horizontally.

The opponent raised his own long blade to block.

Unfortunately—

That sword had not passed Kirigakure's quality inspection.

The mont it t Sahada, it shattered like glass.

The blow landed squarely on the man's shoulder.

He was flung away like a bowling pin struck by a cannonball.

He had never been hit by a high-speed train—

And never would be—

But now he understood exactly what it felt like.

Hagoromo was clearly mimicking Fuguki's earlier style.

But unfamiliar with Sahada's balance, he failed to strike the body's center of mass.

The result?

The enemy hit the ground headfirst.

Accidental precision.

Evaluating Hagoromo's swordsmanship—

He had none.

He was simply swinging with brute force.

If he'd been holding a hamr of equal weight, the result might have been even better.

But heavy blades without finesse often carried terrifying brutality.

The enemy flew over ten ters, limbs twisting unnaturally as he tumbled, crashing into several other Kirigakure ninja along the way.

Hagoromo held his finishing pose for nearly half a minute.

No one dared approach.

Only then did he lower the blade.

This wasn't posturing.

He was genuinely struggling.

Unused to the weapon—and having exerted too much force—his leg was starting to cramp.

If soone had seized the mont, they could have exploited the opening.

Fortunately, the pain from his waist wound outweighed the cramp.

Dying from muscle cramps on a battlefield would've been the most aningless death imaginable.

By now, all Konoha forces had pressed in.

Though fighting on enemy soil, their numbers were nearly two-to-one.

Kirigakure quickly showed signs of collapse.

This operation's purpose wasn't just killing—

The true objective was to destroy the base and its stored supplies.

Hagoromo didn't know exactly how it would be done—

But Konoha would obviously assign specialists to demolition.

And soon, he saw just how reliable those specialists were.

First, continuous explosions and flas erupted inside the main structure—

Fire Release combined with explosive tags.

Then—

A cloud of white smoke rose.

Two massive summoned creatures appeared.

Manda, Orochimaru's giant purple snake—

And another grotesque three-headed serpent.

The two coiled around the main building, muscles tightening.

Creaaaak—crack—

With a deafening crash, the entire structure collapsed into rubble.

Mist ninja attempted to attack the enormous targets.

It was useless.

Orochimaru personally completed the demolition.

Was that it?

Two thousand ninja, one lightning strike?

Hagoromo vaguely recalled that Orochimaru could transform into a massive white serpent himself.

Not seeing it was slightly disappointing.

But in truth, he was mistaken.

At this point in ti, neither the Living Human Shield nor the Eight-Headed Serpent Technique (Senjutsu) had been completed.

Forbidden techniques required years to perfect.

After all—

At the foot of Mount Qingcheng lives Lady White,

In the Dragon Cave, a thousand years to cultivate this form.

The timing of the retreat would be judged by Orochimaru.

The principle was simple:

Take the advantage, then leave.

This was enemy territory.

Reinforcents would arrive soon.

Konoha ninja needed to withdraw before that happened—while inflicting as much damage as possible.

Manda had contributed greatly—

But there was a problem.

He was not a cooperative summon.

He ate people.

Having finally been summoned, he had no intention of returning empty-stomached.

Eating a few Mist ninja was perfectly reasonable, right?

Of course—

Manda didn't bother distinguishing friend from foe.

In a pile of enemies mixed with one Konoha ninja, did anyone really expect him to carefully pick them apart?

And unfortunately—

That "peppercorn" mixed among the enemies—

Was surnad Kamishiro.

If Kamishiro Hagoromo were to die by being eaten by a summoned beast—

Then he would truly beco a rare alpine flower among protagonists.
