’It’s Magic!’

Zong Yajuan’s heart pounded violently.

When the young mber of the Vampire Clan revealed his identity,

Zong Yajuan’s mind instantly flashed back to the records about Vampires she had specifically researched in ancient books.

The Riemoer were one of the youngest of the known Clans,

having co into being during the early Dark Age.

The original mbers of the Riemoer were a group of human Mages who desperately craved eternal life.

Aided by so unknown mystical power,

they managed to gain the ability to drink blood through a combination of Alchemy, Magic, and the blood of a mysterious Vampire Elder.

However, they soon discovered that the Magic they had once excelled at no longer possessed the sa imnse power.

But through relentless study and devout dedication,

they mastered a brand-new form of Magic!

This was a Magic cast using the power of blood.

Because of the unique way they beca Vampires, they beca mortal enemies with the other Blood Race Clans.

However,

given the enormous contributions the Riemoer mbers made in resisting the wars of annihilation waged by humans against supernatural creatures, and their strict adherence to the hidden precepts,

the Riemoer eventually earned a place within the Secret Faction.

Within the Secret Faction, the Riemoer used their unique Magic Power to prove themselves powerful allies.

And, of course, extrely dangerous enemies.

In fact, the Riemoer used their Magic Power for the Secret Faction almost as often as they used it for themselves.

All of this was what Zong Yajuan had read in the ancient texts.

However, most people believed it to be nothing more than a fantastical story concocted in a bygone era.

The most distinct characteristic of this Clan’s mbers was their thod of attack, which resembled a strange and brilliant form of magic.

They were considered extrely unique among the vast ranks of the Vampire Clan.

Witnessing all this,

Zong Yajuan suddenly realized that most of the information she’d read was likely true.

Brooks gave a slight wave of his hand, and the floor beneath the Great Celestial Dog’s feet began to lt, turning into a crimson slurry.

The slurry churned continuously, and the Great Celestial Dog’s tattered body began to slowly sink into it.

"It seems the deity you, the Queen, rely on isn’t quite as powerful as you imagined."

Brooks said with a chuckle, looking at Ji Shengyue.

"No, please don’t kill him. Let him go. I will obey any and all commands from your Lighthouse Empire."

Ji Shengyue finally snapped back to her senses and hastily spoke.

"So, you’ve co to your senses now?" Brooks asked.

"I have. I was foolish just now. I hope the Lighthouse Empire and the Blood Race will not hold it against ."

Ji Shengyue said, swallowing her pride.

"Well, that couldn’t be better,

after all, it would take so effort for us to select a new ruler for the Great Jing Empire.

Your clarity saves our Lighthouse Empire a great deal of trouble."

Brooks waved his hand again.

The churning crimson slurry slowly lifted the Great Celestial Dog’s broken body and deposited it back on the floor.

The floor then returned to its original state, as if it were all just an illusion,

as if none of what had just happened had occurred at all.

"You can keep this dog.

But he’s clearly not the trump card you’d need to turn the tables."

Strands of crimson thread appeared in Brooks’s hands and drilled into the Great Celestial Dog’s ruined body,

stitching his tattered form back together until it was whole once more.

The Great Celestial Dog’s eyes opened again, and he climbed up from the floor.

A mont ago,

the Great Celestial Dog had genuinely believed he was about to die.

He never expected this Vampire Clan Prince would choose to spare him.

The Great Celestial Dog understood perfectly well, however.

The only reason the man spared him was that he didn’t see him as a threat at all.

For a being that posed no threat whatsoever, there was indeed little difference between killing him and not killing him.

The Great Celestial Dog felt not a shred of indignation, only the relief of having survived a close brush with death.

"See to the matters I’ve instructed you on.

As long as you are obedient, the Lighthouse Empire will grant you sufficient protection."

Brooks lowered his hand, and a surging crimson mist instantly expanded,

enveloping all the mbers of the Vampire Clan.

Their handso, almost inhuman faces gradually vanished into the blood-red fog.

When the fog dissipated, the mbers of the Vampire Clan had also vanished from the reception hall.

"How can the Lighthouse Empire’s Vampire Clan be so powerful?"

The Great Celestial Dog didn’t dare to speak until after the entire group had left.

His Samurai Sword had been nourished by his malevolent energy for a very long ti,

yet that Brooks had crushed it with ease.

"How would I know?"

Ji Shengyue said impatiently.

’I feel absolutely terrible. I threw myself into this, and all I got in return was a useless dog.’

"What is this attitude you’re giving ?"

the Great Celestial Dog demanded coldly.

"You’ve been asleep for too long. You’ve fallen out of touch with the world."

Seeing the Great Celestial Dog’s cold gaze, Ji Shengyue could only force a smile and explain.

"Do you think this is the full extent of my power?

You’re right about one thing—I have indeed been asleep for too long.

But give so ti, and killing those mbers of the Vampire Clan will be as easy as slaughtering chickens."

The Great Celestial Dog knew perfectly well

that his performance this ti had been abysmal. Facing that Vampire Clan Prince, he hadn’t even had a chance to fight back.

Never mind Ji Shengyue; even the Great Celestial Dog himself felt deeply ashad.

However, Ji Shengyue’s blatantly pragmatic attitude annoyed him greatly.

There was sothing else the Great Celestial Dog hadn’t ntioned. Since awakening,

he had been busy indulging himself with Ji Shengyue’s body,

feeling sowhat unable to pull himself away, so much so that he hadn’t even recovered his peak strength yet.

"Really? Then what do you need to do to increase your power?"

Ji Shengyue’s eyes lit up as she quickly asked.

Ji Shengyue was indeed utterly disappointed in the Great Celestial Dog.

His performance had been lackluster, to say the least.

After all, the Vampire Clan still had twelve Princes.

The way he was now, he couldn’t even handle one Prince; his only fate would be an instant death.

In other words, hoping for the Great Celestial Dog to free her from the Lighthouse Empire’s control was completely hopeless.

But now that the Great Celestial Dog actually had a chance to increase his power, Ji Shengyue saw a glimr of hope once more.

"I need a large amount of food."

"Food? That’s no problem, of course. No matter how much you want to eat, I can provide it for you."

Ji Shengyue said at once.

"Heh heh, the food I need is you humans. I want living humans, the younger the better. Understand?"

the Great Celestial Dog said with a chilling smile.

"Humans?"

Ji Shengyue froze on the spot.
