Chapter 651: Cleverness Backfires

Being suppressed was an extrely uncomfortable sensation.

Lin Moyu knew sothing was wrong, yet he couldn’t identify the cause or find a way to resolve it. Perhaps only when his strength grew sufficiently would the clues finally reveal themselves.

A few hours later, his undead army was filled.

The Holy lody Wind Chi remained completely unresponsive, leaving him no choice but to continue searching.

As he pressed deeper into the Green Dragon Sea, the monsters grew steadily stronger; it was now rare to encounter anything below level 80.

The disturbance caused by the undead army soon attracted the attention of the world rank bosses lurking in the ocean depths.

Soon, several world rank bosses erged.

The strongest was level 87, while the others were between level 84 and level 85.

In the past, Lin Moyu would have retreated without hesitation. Battling water-type bosses in the depths of the sea was never pleasant—victory usually ca at a high cost.

But with the God-level Skeletal King at his side, everything beca astonishingly simple.

Brilliant sword light cleaved through the pitch-black depths. With overwhelming dominance, the Skeletal King slew the bosses in just a few strikes, granting Lin Moyu massive amounts of EXP and several decent quasi-legendary-grade pieces of equipnt.

Lin Moyu couldn’t help but think these bosses were “good people,” traveling all this way simply to deliver EXP and equipnt.

Five days later, the glow of leveling enveloped him again.

After level 75, EXP requirents rose sharply once again, slowing his progress considerably. Worse still, after the world rank bosses were wiped out, the remaining monsters of the Green Dragon Ocean seed to receive a warning. They stopped provoking him altogether, fleeing the mont they sensed the undead army.

Their speed in the water was astonishing. Unless the Headless Knights activated their Charge skill, catching them was nearly impossible.

As a result, Lin Moyu needed a full five days just to gain a single level.

Standing quietly in the water, the level-up brought him little joy.

The oppressive sensation returned, but the godhead of the God of Holy lody remained nowhere to be found.

“The worst-case scenario has co true. The godhead is no longer in the Green Dragon Ocean. Most likely, it was drawn into the vortex.”

Lin Moyu’s expression grew grave. He truly did not want to confront the being within the vortex.

Not out of fear, but because acting rashly against an unknown God, especially one capable of soul attacks, was exceedingly dangerous.

After much thought, he decided to conduct one final sweep in case he had missed sothing.

Lin Moyu flew out of the Green Dragon Ocean, repositioned himself high above the Savagewild Continent, and dove back down.

Another five days passed—still nothing.

“Do I really have no choice but to go to the vortex?”

After a long silence, he took out Antares’s scale and infused it with soul force.

“Antares!”

There was no response. Knowing the fellow must be asleep again, Lin Moyu called out once more.

Only after more than a dozen attempts did the scale finally stir.

“I was in the middle of a dream! Say what you need to say, or I’ll swallow you whole!” Antares’s voice bood with unmistakable irritation.

Ignoring his temper, Lin Moyu went straight to the point, “You know about the Central Great Vortex in the lower layer, right?”

“Of course!” Antares snorted, “There’s nothing in this world I don’t know.”

“Stop bragging.” Lin Moyu said flatly.

Antares snorted, “Fine. Everything except things regarding you.”

“I’m considering going to the Central Great Vortex.” Lin Moyu said.

The scale vibrated violently as a furious roar rang out, “What?! Are you trying to die?!”

“Why?”

“That’s where Myriad Souls Great God slumbers! Do you even understand what a ‘Great God’ is? If you want to die, there are far better ways!”

“Relax. I’m only thinking about it. I haven’t gone yet.”

Antares finally cald down, “Good. Don’t go. That guy hasn’t awakened, and anyone who approaches is treated as an enemy.”

“I thought as much.” Lin Moyu replied.

Antares’s words only confird his suspicions.

Antares then asked, “Why do you want to go there anyway? There’s nothing in that place.”

Lin Moyu explained the task entrusted to him by Kunlun Great God.

In response, Antares said, “Then you don’t need to go. The godhead of the God of Holy lody is in the Green Dragon Ocean, not in the vortex.”

“But I’ve searched the entire ocean and found nothing.” Lin Moyu frowned.

Antares wouldn’t lie. Had he truly overlooked sothing?

Antares chuckled, “I’ve told you what I know. Whether you can find it is up to you. I’m going back to sleep; don’t wake unless it’s important.”

“Do it again and I really will eat you. Don’t think I won’t.”

With that, Antares severed the connection.

Lin Moyu smiled faintly at Antares’s antics.

Fortunately, he had asked first. If he had rushed in blindly, things might have turned disastrous.

“If Antares says the godhead is in the Green Dragon Ocean, then it’s here.”

“I’ve searched twice already… so what did I miss?”

He retraced his steps in his mind, frustration sharpening his focus.

“I overlooked sothing. Think.”

Trusting Antares, he released his soul force, carefully scanning every detail of the surroundings.

Then it struck him. Sothing he had noticed before, then dismissed.

The currents.

The sea appeared calm, but currents existed nonetheless.

Near the vortex, they flowed inward. Back then, Lin Moyu had worried the godhead might have been swept away.

But farther from the vortex, the currents weakened until they seed to vanish. Concluding the godhead hadn’t entered the vortex, he had stopped paying attention.

Now he understood. The currents had never disappeared. They had only grown subtler.

The force of these currents was weak. But they were constant. Over countless years, even such faint currents could carry the godhead far from its original location.

Realization lit his eyes.

Lin Moyu descended to the seabed and stood still, extending his soul force to sense the water’s movent.

Slowly, a pattern erged: every current converged in the sa direction.

“That’s it.”

Following the currents, he soon sensed a rupture in the seabed.

“An underwater fissure… a trench.”

Lin Moyu smiled wryly. He had been too confident.

By searching down to 50,000 ters, he had assud nothing could escape his perception—above or below.

Even if a monster had dragged the godhead beneath the Savagewild Continent’s ice layers, he believed he would have noticed.

But he had forgotten one thing.

There could be trenches in the seabed.

How deep could a trench go? 100,000 ters? More? Far beyond the range of his perception.

Now that he’d found it, he wasted no ti. He plunged into the trench.

The trench was vast and crawling with monsters.

As Lin Moyu descended with his undead army, the monsters scattered in terror. Over the past few days, he had swept the ocean so thoroughly that his presence alone sent them fleeing.

The depth exceeded even his expectations—at least 80,000 ters.

The crushing pressure strained even Lin Moyu’s endurance.

At 50,000 ters, he halted the undead army. The Lich Generals continuously restored the undead troops.

At greater depths, the relentless environntal damage would overwhelm their healing.

With no battle yet in sight, the undead army waited at full strength, ready to be summoned.

Lin Moyu continued alone, moved along the trench floor, guided by the current.

Ding… ling…

A clear, lodic chi echoed within his soul.

The Holy lody Wind Chi glowed softly, its light piercing the absolute darkness.

“It really is here.”

Pushing against the dense water, Lin Moyu advanced. Though his speed was reduced, the distance closed quickly.

The resonance intensified, until a faint glow erged ahead.

There it was.

The godhead lay quietly on the seabed, shining in harmony with the Holy lody Wind Chi.

The instant Lin Moyu saw it, an imnse force slamd into him, like a colossal fist.

There was no pain. He imdiately understood. It was a warning, not an attack.

Above the godhead, a pair of crimson eyes opened, blazing in the darkness.

And then, through his soul sense, he felt it.

The monsters that had fled from him before were turning back, charging toward him once more.
