Chiyo's hands trembled uncontrollably. She had pulled the trigger.

She had killed a man.

She knew she couldn't just stand by and watch Rin die at the hands of so thug, but the weight of what she had done crashed down on her like a tidal wave.

The gun slipped from her fingers, clattering onto the pavent as her legs gave out. She leaned against the car bumper, her chest rising and falling in erratic gasps.

Her heartbeat pounded in her ears, so loud she thought it might burst through her ribs.

She had killed soone.

Her breath hitched as the thought repeated in her mind, over and over.

"I'm a murderer…" The words barely escaped her lips, her voice breaking.

Tears welled in her eyes. "No… This must be a dream. If it were real, Haruto would be here, right? He should be here, saving … saving us."

She covered her face with shaking hands. "Where is he? Why isn't he here?" Her voice cracked into a hoarse whisper, choked by the weight of her sobs.

"This is a nightmare. It can't be real…"

But even as she muttered those words, she knew the truth. No matter how much she cried, nothing would change.

When she opened her eyes, she was still in the sa abandoned construction site, surrounded by bodies—so dead, so groaning in pain.

She tried to steady her breathing, to pull herself together, but then she noticed sothing. Rin hadn't moved. She was still lying on the cold ground.

A sickening dread twisted in Chiyo's stomach.

"Oh no…" she murmured, scrambling toward Rin.

Her fingers trembled as she turned Rin onto her back. Blood stained her lips, her chest rising and falling in uneven, ragged breaths. Her face was contorted in pain.

"Rin! Rin, stay with !" Chiyo pleaded, shaking her weakly.

Panic clawed at her throat. What should she do? She couldn't drive. She had no way to get Rin to a hospital.

Tears stread down her face again. "Soone… please… help us…"

Just then, the distant sound of tires screeching against pavent reached her ears. Chiyo lifted her head, her body tensing as multiple figures stepped out of a car.

Two n stood out among them—one with striking red hair, the other with green.

Fear seized her chest. If they were more enemies, then she was as good as dead. She wasn't a fighter like Rin. She wouldn't stand a chance.

But then, the red-haired man stepped forward, his expression serious yet familiar.

"Chiyo Hayase? It's —Enji! You called earlier! Are you alright?"

Relief flooded through Chiyo, her body sagging. She nodded weakly, wiping at her tear-streaked face.

She knew this man, he was one of Haruto's junior high friends, and that was why his na and voice were familiar when she called him earlier.

"Please… help her," she gestured toward Rin desperately. "Her condition is bad. She needs help—now."

Enji's face darkened with worry. "Of course. Let's get both of you out of here."

He extended his hand toward her, and she reached for it. But the mont her fingers clasped his, a sharp, excruciating pain tore through her abdon.

Her breath caught in her throat. It was sudden—deep, twisting pain, unlike anything she had ever felt before.

"A-ahhh…!" A strangled cry escaped her lips as her body lurched forward.

Her hands instinctively clutched at her stomach, where the pain intensified, sharp and rciless.

Sothing was wrong. Terribly wrong. Her knees buckled, and she would have collapsed if Enji hadn't caught her.

"Mrs.Hayase? What's wrong?"

Enji's voice was distant, drowned out by the hamring of her pulse.

Her breathing turned erratic, coming in short, panicked gasps. Then—she felt it. Sothing warm, sothing wet trickling down her legs.

Her stomach dropped. 'No. No, no, no—'

With trembling hands, she looked down.

Blood.

Dark crimson pooled beneath her, staining her clothes, seeping between her fingers.

Her breath hitched. Her vision swam.

Her baby.

A choked sob tore from her throat as the realization slamd into her.

"Enji… help … please…"

Her voice was barely above a whisper, a desperate plea as tears stread down her face.

She felt her body growing weaker, the pain unbearable. Her grip on Enji's arm tightened as if holding on could stop the inevitable.

She couldn't lose her baby. She just couldn't.

***

SLAP!

The sharp sound echoed through the hospital hallway, drawing the attention of nurses, doctors, and passing visitors.

Haruto stood still, his head tilted slightly from the force of the blow, but he didn't flinch. He didn't defend himself. He didn't even speak. He deserved it.

This ti, his mistake was unforgivable.

"WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?!"

Asuka's furious voice rang out, filled with rage and pain. Everyone around them froze, watching as she shook with barely contained fury.

"Chiyo was calling you! I was calling you! Over and over!" Her voice cracked, but it only fueled her anger.

"That's why I told you to stop putting silent mode on your phone, why are you so stubborn!"

A slap wasn't enough. She wanted to hurt him more.

"Do you know what I saw when I got to the ER?" Her chest heaved, her hands balled into fists.

"She was covered in blood—her own baby's blood!"

Haruto clenched his jaw, his nails digging into his palms until they bled.

"And where were you?" Asuka demanded, her eyes burning with accusation.

"Were you having fun with these two while Chiyo and your baby were dying?!"

She jabbed a shaking finger at Mari and Ayaka, who stood behind Haruto. The weight of guilt bore down on them. Neither dared to lift their heads.

Because Asuka was right.

Haruto had been too caught up with them, too distracted to notice the barrage of calls and ssages from Chiyo, Asuka, Enji. And now—now it was too late.

He had underestimated Ren. That bastard wasn't like Kota. Kota was weak, unable to fight back.

But Ren had the power to destroy everything Haruto loved. And he had.

The realization crushed him.

But before he could utter a word, Ayaka stepped forward. Her voice trembled, but she forced herself to speak.

"It's my fault." She bowed deeply, a perfect ninety-degree angle. "Haruto was busy saving from Red Fang. I'm so sorry."

"Red Fang?!" Asuka's head snapped toward Haruto, her glare intensifying.

"I knew you were involved in gang business, but I didn't know it had co to this."

She exhaled sharply, her shoulders tense. "You need to fix this, Haruto. All of it. Because if you don't—" She swallowed, her eyes flashing with finality.

"I'll have no choice but to separate you from Chiyo."

Haruto's breath caught in his throat. "No…" He took a step forward, desperation lacing his voice.

"Please, Asuka, don't do this. I'll do anything—anything. If you want to kneel right here in front of everyone, I will. Just don't take her away from ."

His voice broke. "Don't punish like this."
