Now reading: Chapter 148: A New Era of Magic? Grand Warlock Ion! from New Star In Marvel, a Action novel by Dragonscribe31.

Across the entire Marvel universe, countless people were watching the sky, frozen in disbelief. Their eyes widened, mouths open, as the screen above them displayed a scene that felt more like fantasy than reality.

Then the live broadcast chat exploded.

> "WTF? What did I just see?"

> "Is this really the future?"

> "SCP-3396… is it infecting everyone?"

> "Did… did humanity just beco gods?!"

> "This has to be fake… or is it actually happening?"

---

At Kamar-Taj, the sanctuary of mystic arts, the Ancient One stood still, watching with wide eyes.

"Magic?" she muttered.

What she saw was impossible. Magic had spread across the entire world.

As the Sorcerer Supre, the Ancient One knew magic wasn't sothing just anyone could use. Only the most talented and disciplined individuals could even begin to control its power.

Yet now, the entire human race was showing signs of magical awakening.

It was unbelievable.

The screen kept playing:

> "[Currently, one-third of the human race has been blessed by blue energy. What a miracle!]"

> "[This energy is so powerful, it rivals that of the greatest sorcerers in history.]"

> "[Magic is now equal to godhood. More souls are reborn every day in its glowing light.]"

These words weren't just poetic exaggeration. After seeing the power of D-77777's destructive blow, no one dared doubt it anymore.

A massive glowing tree—symbolizing the future—erged on screen. Its fractal branches stretched toward heaven. It was a beautiful, terrifying sight.

When the screen faded, the audience sat in stunned silence. So wept. Others stared into space.

They realized sothing chilling.

This future wasn't a dream. It wasn't speculation. It was already beginning.

But Jas—standing in the heart of it all—didn't show a single reaction.

No awe. No fear. No desire to ascend.

Everyone was puzzled.

> "Doesn't he want to beco a god too?"

> "Why doesn't he want to join the new magical world?"

Even SCP-3396 seed confused.

Then, Jas finally spoke.

> "This global surge in magic shares three traits in every individual affected…"

He began calmly analyzing the phenonon like a scientist.

> "First, each infected human develops glowing blue organs. These organs produce enormous amounts of energy from an unknown source, protected by magical barriers."

> "Their output is greater than even the High Priest of the Worm or the Black Queen—people once considered the strongest human magic users."

The viewers were shocked. Even SCP-3396 humd in confusion.

> "Is Jas… explaining the process of becoming a god?"

Jas continued:

> "Second, there's sothing called psychothaumic mutation. It's a dangerous ntal transformation caused by overexposure to magic. Normally, this only happens when rituals go wrong."

He paused before continuing.

> "But this 'Blue Blessing'… it's happening everywhere, uncontrollably. This isn't how magic is supposed to work."

Then Jas looked directly at SCP-3396.

> "You know what I thought of, after studying you?"

There was only silence.

But Jas didn't care.

> "The ancient Sarkic cult believed Ion never died. He didn't vanish like the modern sects claid. Instead, he ascended to a higher plane… and fought against Yaldabaoth, the chaos god, on behalf of humanity."

This bombshell stunned the audience.

> "Wait—Sarkics? Yaldabaoth? What is this lore?"

> "Is Jas talking about god-level beings?!"

He continued:

> "Now, after a thousand years of war… Ion has defeated Yaldabaoth. He consud his divine body. And this 'Blue Blessing' is Ion's gift to humanity… a way to build a perfect world."

Jas then revealed a crucial clue. The magical organs rejected the bodies of new Sarkic warlocks, proving the theory.

This was staggering.

> "SCP-3396's gift… is actually Ion's divine plan?!"

But Jas wasn't finished.

He sneered.

> "But in my eyes… there is no gift here. Real transcendence isn't about growing extra body parts. And a perfect world should never be built through destruction."

Then, in a chilling voice, Jas said:

> "The future I see… is not the one you showed ."

He described his vision.

"I saw the Pacific Ocean burning. Magic had turned its waters into gasoline."

"I saw monsters—hungry, hateful things from space—sensing Earth. They tore through dinsions like knives through paper. They're coming to devour us."

"I saw North Arica explode in a sea of corpses. Rotten, angry bodies climbed from the ground, screaming as they stretched toward the sky."

The viewers were horrified.

Jas smiled bitterly.

> "There is no utopia. The Foundation will never accept this."

> "They won't share Earth with monsters. They'll blow up continents before they allow it."

> "The oceans will burn. The skies will fall. They'll preserve what they call 'normal' even if it ans ending everything."

---

The entire universe went quiet.

Everyone watching—the Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D., civilians—froze.

Even though there were no images on the screen, Jas' words painted a terrifying picture in everyone's mind.

He wasn't exaggerating. The Foundation would really do it.

The chat exploded again.

> "Holy crap. They'd end the world before sharing it?"

> "I thought the Foundation were the good guys!"

> "Turns out they're not wrong… they're just on a different side."

---

At S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, the agents stood silently.

Natasha finally broke the silence.

> "They never planned to compromise, huh?"

Nick Fury nodded grimly.

> "No god has ever made the Foundation back down. Not the Crimson King. Not the Starfish. Not even Death itself. So why would they bend now?"

He looked again at Jas, standing alone on the screen.

---

Jas stared at SCP-3396.

> "Magic takes many forms. But only one rule is always true—everything has a price."

The viewers were jolted by that line.

"Yes! Of course! Nothing cos for free!"

> "If humans are becoming gods… what are we giving up in return? And what happens when we can't pay?"

Jas reached out his hand, closed his eyes, and let the magical particles brush his skin.

At Kamar-Taj, the Ancient One gasped.

> "He's not absorbing any magic… not even a single particle?"

Jas had rejected it all. The power. The miracles. The godhood.

He refused to take the path everyone else was blindly chasing.

---

He turned and walked forward. Toward the stars. Toward the unknown.

> "The disaster will be contained."

> "The anomaly will be contained."

> "Normality will be preserved."

> "The Foundation rejects the new era."

His words echoed across the universe.

The live broadcast cut out.

And for a mont… the entire world seed to hold its breath.

---

When the screen returned, the scene had shifted.

They were back in Old Vegas.

D-77777 stood tall as the city's chosen queen. Her people stood behind her. Across from them, the Foundation's army was ready to fire.

Tension filled the air. One signal would ignite war.

But then—a sigh echoed from the sky. A gentle wave spread across the battlefield.

Raindrops began to fall. Transparent. Light as feathers.

The sky turned clear.

The blue light—the so-called "blessing"—began to fade.

People gasped.

> "My body… it's mine again!"

> "My tail is gone!"

> "I'm normal again!"

One by one, the mutants with flying powers fell gently from the sky.

Magic had left them.

D-77777 looked up, tears in her eyes.

She dropped a single tear—shining like molten tal—into the wind.

It drifted into the sky, a silent tribute to those lost in arrogance and chaos.

She turned to her people and whispered:

"It's over."
