The attendant from the City Lord Mansion swiftly took Evan and the group to the City Lord Mansion.
It did not take long to reach there.
Descending from the AV they were transported in, the attendant guided them into the main office of the mansion.
There sat the City Lord, Dorian Hale, and in front of him was a holographic projection of an old man.
This old man was none other than the Overseer of the Southern Region, Gu Qianchen, and he also happened to be the disciple of the Great Polarity Master, the fourth rank expert who owned the Sun and Moon Academy and excelled in formations.
"They’re here." The City Lord smiled and stood up. "Congratulations on winning the championship."
"To think such terrifying geniuses like you would erge from Nova City." Dorian Hale shook his head with emotion. "It is a blessing for the Southern Region."
"Hello, little ones." Gu Qianchen said with a small smile. "I am Gu Qianchen. The Great Polarity Master made the Overseer of the Southern Region several years ago."
"Greetings, Overseer Gu Qianchen."
Everyone bowed. A 3rd rank expert didn’t need titles to command respect.
"Good." Gu Qianchen nodded in satisfaction. "All of you are young geniuses that are rare even in the floating cities. To think the Southern Region would one day see such geniuses erge."
"The City Lord has already prepared your rewards. And as per the rules, all of you will enter the Sun and Moon Academy within one month. I will personally descend to the Southern Region to pick all of you up. Train diligently until then."
"Yes!"
They replied in unison. Evan’s face flashed with excitent when he heard Gu Qianchen’s words.
The Sun and Moon Academy!
That was one of the top four academies on Blue Star!
Everyone there was a super genius gathered from all across the globe!
If there was a status a person their age could achieve, it was to beco a mber of these academy.
And after graduating from these academies, the greatest official positions one could achieve were becoming a City Lord or even an Overseer!
Of course, becoming the Federation Master was out of the question. He was not dead after all, and nobody could replace him until the day he chose to retire or died.
Then, Gu Qianchen turned to City Lord Dorian and spoke. "City Lord Dorian, is there perhaps a man nad Werner here?"
"Werner?" City Lord Dorian frowned. "I do not recall anyone by that na, Elder Gu Qianchen."
"I see." Gu Qianchen stroked his beard, as if reminiscing. "He is a good old friend of mine. In our younger days, he was a powerful formation master and the brightest talent of our generation. Even the Great Polarity Master wanted to take him as a disciple, but Werner refused, because their philosophies in formations did not align."
He continued. "But despite his talent, he never used it properly. Instead, he spent most of his ti researching corruption fields. His lifelong goal was to create a formation that could suppress corruption fields forever."
"The last ti I saw him was 10 years ago. But from the information I have gathered, he should be sowhere in the Southern Region." Gu Qianchen sighed. "If he had accepted guidance from the Great Polarity Master, he would have undoubtedly reached the level of my master himself. Those were my master’s exact words."
Everyone in the room was stunned.
A talent that rivaled the Great Polarity Master, a 4 star formation master?
Then City Lord Dorian spoke. "Lord Gu Qianchen, I believe I might know soone with that na."
"Oh?" Gu Qianchen raised his brow. "Speak."
Dorian nodded. "I cannot be certain if it is the sa person, but in Ashspire City, not far from the Three Guards Province, there is a man called Senior Werner Brown. He is one of the 2 star formation masters residing in that city."
"That is him!" Gu Qianchen’s eyes brightened. "Incredible, to think he is in Ashspire City of all places."
Then, he stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Do all those who descend from the floating cities go there?"
"Are you referring to Valeria, Lord Gu?" City Lord Dorian asked curiously.
"Indeed." Gu Qianchen nodded. "Please send my regards to him. I will et him personally when I descend to the Southern Region in one month."
"Yes. I will ensure the ssage reaches him." City Lord Dorian nodded respectfully.
"Good." Gu Qianchen turned back to the young geniuses. "It seems I have kept you standing."
"Not at all!" Evan shook his head quickly. "It was an honor to hear about soone as extraordinary as Senior Werner. To think such a legendary figure is in the Southern Region!"
Gu Qianchen burst into hearty laughter.
"Very well then." He said with a smile. "I still have other matters to attend to, but before I leave, do any of you have a request? As the Overseer of the Southern Region, you may ask anything from , and as long as it is reasonable, I shall grant it!"
At those words, silence filled the room.
No one truly had anything they lacked. They were already satisfied with everything they had received.
Well, except for one.
"Senior, I do have a request." Lia stepped forward.
She had been waiting for this mont. Winning the championship ant gaining a wish from the Overseer. It could have been prosperity for her city, or anything else.
But Lia wanted sothing else entirely.
There was soone she thought of every day.
Soone she desperately wished to see again.
Soone whose safety she never knew, soone whose fate was lost to uncertainty.
He was the only person who ran into danger just to save her.
The only one who stood against despair to protect everyone.
And yet, nobody knew the truth.
"Speak." Gu Qianchen said. "Let hear it."
Lia nodded, took in a quiet breath, and spoke.
"I have a friend... soone very close to . But he had to flee my city because he was falsely accused..."
Everyone’s expression shifted the mont the words left her mouth.
Especially Alissa’s.
Because she already knew exactly who Lia was talking about.
