The lock, it was a towering layer of defense that existed at the end of one’s life existence. It was a huge barrier with a thick layer. Everyone had this lock, and it was known as the genetic limitation lock.

What was the purpose of evolution?

It was to beco a higher-level being and advance through the ladder known as life. One’s own genetics was connected to it.

The genetic limitation had always existed in everyone, but they would never be able to perceive it until they reached a higher level of power. Each rank starting from the 1st rank had it, and with each level, the lock got harder and harder to break.

According to posts online, the genetic limitation lock was the natural suppression of life as a whole itself to ensure balance. Everything had a balance to it, and naturally, the rules of evolution also had one.

In a way, this lock was also what prevented many people from ascending to higher levels, as without a stable foundation and sufficient power, one could never hope to break it. With each attempt, the chances would thin.

Grey also believed that there was so connection between the so-called hidden rules of evolution and these genetic locks. These evolution rules, in the first place, were made in a bizarre way, like preventing people who didn’t et the standard from evolving. He also believed this genetic limitation was a blocker similar to that.

Maybe the hidden rules of evolution were also there to prevent the destruction of the balance of the universe?

Evolvers were extrely powerful, to the point even a 2nd ranker could easily destroy a city that was the size of a small country back in his old world.

Their powers only increased by leaps and bounds with each incrent. He couldn’t even imagine how much power a being like the immortal lady, who was likely soone far beyond the 4th rank, possessed.

Perhaps she could destroy the entire galaxy itself?

It was honestly a very dangerous thought, but considering the power increase with each rank, it was very much possible.

[Your comprehension defies the heaven! By musing about the hidden rules of evolution, you’ve gained more insight into the hidden rules of evolution.]

’I was right.’ Grey laughed. ’It’s a good thing my ability indirectly lets know if I’m right or wrong. With it, I don’t have to second-guess anything.’

Then, Grey kept those thoughts aside for now.

He now found himself in a blank space. Directly above him was a huge barrier made of blinding light. Mysterious power swirled around it, and just looking at it made him feel dizzy for so reason.

’The Genetic Limitation Lock,’ Grey muttered, rubbing his temples. ’According to the evolvers, it’s supposed to look like a giant glass wall.’

He stared for a mont.

’...Then why the hell does mine look like this?’

No matter which angle he looked from, there was no glass, no transparency, just pure, glowing light dense with power. Mysterious patterns flowed across it like cosmic runes, and the longer he stared, the dizzier he got.

Yes. Dizzy.

Dizzy from looking at it.

’How the hell am I supposed to break sothing that makes dizzy from just looking at it?!’

Grey’s expression darkened. His eyes twitched. His fists clenched.

’YOU F*CKING HEAVEN!’

The space trembled as his shout echoed through the void.

’I KNOW IT’S YOU!’ he yelled again, pointing at the blinding barrier like it was so kind of cosmic prankster.

And then he began swearing in every language he knew. Ancient tongues, Earth languages, alien dialects, and maybe even one or two curse words he just made up on the spot.

If the universe had ears, they were probably bleeding by now.

’I don’t care anymore!’ Grey shouted with an annoyed look. Even though he felt dizziness when looking at the barrier, he would still attempt to destroy the lock and reach the 2nd rank!

If he didn’t reach the 2nd rank today, then he would give his na to a street dog!

Imdiately, heavenly tribulation surged like an endless ocean. The space crackled with imnse power as silver-purple lines began to form across Grey’s arms and legs. Following that, crackling nexus energy lines surged out from Grey’s pupil to the sclera.

Nexus Overlock, full power!

Even though this was the lock’s space, he could use his abilities. After all, it was within his own body.

Soon, sword energy also erged. Following that, a fierce disco ball of fla appeared.

Boom!

A terrifying aura spread out from Grey.

This was his peak!

He had never really used his full power since the last ti he fought with the abyssal being Zeryth, and now he had unleashed all his strongest abilities.

He even prepared the ntal Annihilation Art for extra support, even if it didn’t do anything.

All his powers converged to one point in his hands. They shook with powerful vibrations, and without blinking, Grey shot towards the barrier like a cannonball.

His montum was so fast that he reached the barrier in less ti than it took to blink!

He knew this most likely wouldn’t be able to pierce it.

He felt an extrely oppressive power from the lock, and the dizziness only added to the oppressiveness.

But he would go all out!

If one attack wasn’t enough, then he would attack ten tis, and if ten tis weren’t enough, then he would attack a hundred tis!

Closing in, Grey’s hands, which contained the combined power of the heavenly tribulation, sword energy, and heavenly fla spell, surged like a tidal wave as they rushed toward the barrier.

Boom!

The terrifying fluctuation spread out. Grey believed it couldn’t pierce the barrier.

How could his puny power pierce sothing likely set up by the heavens?

However, the next mont, Grey was dumbfounded.

The powerful and oppressive barrier that stood like a massive wall between him and the 2nd rank broke like a piece of paper. There was no resistance, no nothing. The instant it connected, the entire barrier crumbled like paper dissolving into water.

Following that, the blinding light that gathered around the barrier abruptly condensed and invoked a mysterious power, lighting up the place.

Then, Grey felt the space glitching. His expression changed as he felt a powerful presence descending. The very power caused his abilities to tremble in fright, but nexus energy surged and everything quickly cald down.

Then, he heard it , a vast, ancient echo that was not a sound, but sothing far beyond.

"He who gazes into the source beyond the firmant."

"One who walks outside the Heavenly Paths."

"THE SEAL OF SAINTHOOD MANIFESTS!"
