"He’s here." The ancestor of the Ardent family spoke as he stared at the sky.
He felt a powerful presence descending onto the entire mansion.
The expressions of the Ardent family mbers imdiately beca grim.
Seeing this, Ancestor Ardent spoke. "Everyone, do as I said, no mistakes, got it?"
"Yes!" They all said in unison.
This was their only way to survive and they were ready to do as the ancestor had instructed them previously.
Nodding, the ancestor flew out of the mansion and appeared before Grey.
He had placed his bets on this and if it did not work out, he might have to go to an extre length to save himself.
That’s right, save himself. At this point, the ancestor Ardent no longer cared about the family. What mattered most was surviving to him and his way of survival was simple.
Abyssal transformation pill!
The Ardent family had always been colliding with the High Order. In fact, the reason Orin was colliding with the High Order was partially due to him as well, and Orin worked under the High Order precisely under his guidance. Naturally, he had an abyssal transformation pill with him.
If his plan did not work, he would directly pop it and increase his strength by transformation and flee the city using an escape technique.
There was no way he was going to say this to the family, he was after all betraying them.
Of course, he would only use it if plan A, submitting to Grey, did not work.
Grey, seeing this, had a look of interest. "Interesting, a late stage 2nd ranker."
He was slightly surprised. To think there would actually be a full fledged late stage 2nd ranker within the Ardent family, he honestly did not expect this.
And he could tell from one glance that this guy was a natural. There was no sign of abyssal energy inside.
"You must be the Ardent himself?" Grey inquired. "The ancestor of the Ardent family."
"That is correct." Ardent affird. "I’m Ardent, pleased to et you Mr. Grey."
Grey simply gave him a nod and spoke. "You should already know why I’m here."
"To uproot the seeds that the High Order sowed." He added coldly.
Hearing this, Ardent spoke in a slightly trembling voice. "Please City Lord Grey, give a mont to speak. I hope you will listen to once, this is my last request."
Hearing this, Grey looked at him for a second and spoke. "You may speak."
"Thank you." Ardent imdiately thanked him. "City Lord Grey, I know my son has sinned greatly and betrayed humanity itself by colliding with the High Order."
"However, his sins, we of the Ardent family are very disappointed at and do not even want to consider him family anymore. Those who targeted you in the secret realm were doing it under the command of Orin, and we Ardent family got rid of them for you.
"We do not want anything to do with him. Him colliding with the High Order was his own decision and if I, as his father, had heard it then I would’ve personally eliminated him. As a forr city lord, I naturally know the consequences of colliding with the High Order."
He paused and bowed. "Please reconsider, City Lord Grey, eliminating us will not bring you benefits, we, the Ardent family, are willing to submit to you completely, and I assure you that you will not regret it. With the family’s help, the entire Ashspire City will be under your control within two hours, that much I guarantee you."
Ardent’s heart beat like a war drum as he finished his words. He had already displayed his sincerity, and now what plan he had to use depended on Grey himself.
"You put up a good argunt indeed, I will not gain anything from eliminating your family." Grey said with a smile.
Hearing this, Ardent was overjoyed for a second. "Then..."
However, before he could continue, Grey spoke with a cold smile on his face. "However, leaving you behind will not do any good either. You think I need your help to unify Ashspire City? You are thinking too much, if I was so incompetent like that then I would not have beco the city lord in the first place."
He paused and then finally added. "And do you really think that I will believe your words with that abyssal transformation pill inside your mouth?"
Grey imdiately burst out laughing. Ardent’s performance was incredible, and if it was anyone else they would have been moved.
However, fooling Grey was simply impossible. All he had to do was activate his True Origin Sight to sense the abyssal energy converged within Ardent’s mouth.
He knew from one glance that it was an abyssal transformation pill.
"You..." Ardent was stunned when he heard this.
It was over!
The guy had found out!
That ant his initial plan had failed.
Ardent’s eyes sharpened the next mont. There was no ti to think anymore, he had to flee.
Imdiately he bit into the abyssal transformation pill.
However, to his horror, he realized the next mont that he could not move his mouth.
Not just his mouth, he could not move his body either.
A feeling of dread imdiately ford in his heart.
He had severely underestimated Grey.
This was telekinesis!
There was no doubt about it and he had actually gone straight into his range.
There was nothing he could do anymore.
Ardent’s will completely diminished realizing this situation.
He could not move his mouth or use his telepathy to convey his thoughts to Grey either.
He could only stare at Grey who looked at him with a calm smile on his face.
"A pity. If you were sincere, you could have lived another day, who told you to do all this?"
Saying that, a disco ball of fire surged out from his palm and instantly went for Ardent.
Without even getting the chance to scream, he was reduced to nothing but ashes.
Then, Grey shifted his attention back to the Ardent family.
Imdiately, he activated his Fate Insight.
He did not want to kill the innocent, and with the help of his Fate Insight, he could distinguish between good and bad by looking at their threads.
Imdiately, he saw violet threads at the center of their heads, and looking at the threads, he saw that it was connected directly to Ashspire City.
This ant leaving them alive would only bring more disaster to the city. Not a single one of them was worth leaving behind.
Since that was the case, Grey no longer hesitated.
Heavenly fire shot out from his palm and charged directly towards the mansion.
Imdiately the mansion’s array formation activated. Seeing this, Grey was slightly surprised.
"This formation, not bad," he comnted in interest. It was a lesser version of the city formation that was inscribed into the city center’s formation pillar and it had been powered for countless years. It could easily take the attack of a peak 2nd ranker for an hour or two.
However, Grey was no ordinary 2nd ranker, he was a formation master, a formation monster with True Origin Sight that could see the convergence of energy.
With a snort, the powerful formation directly cracked and disappeared and the heavenly fire directly fell onto the mansion.
Boom!
The mansion and everything in its vicinity was directly vaporized.
The Ardent family was now gone.
