Grey was not about to give the dragon any ti to recover. He needed to break its defenses and knock it out, decisively.
He activated the ntal Annihilation Art with restrained power and directed it at the dragon.
It had no effect.
Smiling, he pushed the art to its limit and unleashed it at full strength. Even then, the dragon rely staggered slightly, its head swaying as a faint dizziness set in.
Each ti he used it, Grey noticed the sa phenonon. The scales near the dragon’s head subtly shifted as energy rapidly gathered around them, reinforcing its defenses.
If his judgnt was correct, then the solution was simple.
He just had to hit it really hard.
Grey shot toward the massive dragon, his telekinesis crashing down to lock its body in place. The restraint held for only a split second before the dragon tore free from his control.
But that was more than enough.
Grey flung the sword in his hand into the air. Mid-flight, its form began to distort and reshape, humming with unstable power.
At the sa ti, Nexus energy erupted forth, condensing fiercely around his fists. They shone like blazing stars as Grey drew his arm back and punched forward with everything he had.
Ting!
Like the sound of a tal bat colliding with a tal pole, the impact rang out, and imdiately after, the True Dragon saw stars in its eyes.
By the ti Grey was finished fisting the dragon, his shapeless ability had already finished transforming.
A shining, starry brick appeared in his hand. Intricate patterns covered its surface, radiating an oppressive force, as if a single brick alone could end the world.
Without hesitation, Grey poured strength into his arms and swung it down. Telekinesis surged simultaneously, stunning the dragon once more and locking it in place for an instant.
Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting!
The sound was unmistakable, like a car being rcilessly beaten apart. The True Dragon froze midair as its head was hamred repeatedly, each strike landing with brutal precision.
Grey looked like a serious carpenter driving nails into stubborn wood. Except the tool in his hand was a brick, and the thing being hamred was a True Source Dragon, a being no less powerful than a god.
If the dragon had been consciousness, it would have bawled on the spot.
Unfortunately for it, the dizziness was far too overwhelming. Just as it was about to recover, its head was smashed again by sothing incomprehensibly hard. Resistance was no longer an option.
The next mont, it let out an angry, confused roar before it blacked out.
The instant it did, the source law of frost erupted, and along with it, the true source energy followed. Both of them ford a powerful barrier around the dragon as it began shrinking.
"Is she transforming back?" Grey acted fast. To him, the most important thing was, of course, comprehension.
Imdiately, he activated his genetic insight.
The instant he did, he saw the expanded folding patterns containing the secrets of her transformation, the origin imprints on the frawork’s edges, and most importantly, he saw it reverting back.
Now, this was what he wanted to see.
He saw how it expanded, but he did not see it going back to normal.
This particular mont was precisely what would help him crack the transformation code.
[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the DNA structure of a True Source Dragon, you’ve gained insight into its structural engineering and origin imprint!]

Comprehension burst forth as his mind palace continued absorbing the insight. Eventually, after a few minutes of continuous comprehension the mysteries of transformation were no longer a mystery to him.
"Oh." Grey grinned brightly, his saint’s eye flickering with power as he reverted back to his normal form.
It all made sense now!
The DNA structure was essentially not being overwritten. It was being retracted!
It had been a misconception he held before.
But now things were clear.
A normal beast transformation perford by a bloodline warrior relied on incomplete external overlays. Beast traits were forcibly imposed onto the body, borrowing structure temporarily using Bloodline power, and once the energy supply destabilized, the form collapsed.
Only upon reaching the third rank, by forming a core and stabilizing that structure permanently, would full transformation and reversion at will beco possible.
However, Alissa was not doing that.
Hers was nowhere close to a beast transformation technique!
Her DNA contained both states.
In fact, as of now, the human form she took was not her original template. Her dragon form was her original one.
’It’s a structural toggle.’ Grey mused thoughtfully.
At the deepest level of her DNA structure, there existed an anchor. A special power not related to genes or biology, perhaps it was an innate thing as a True Source Dragon.
Whatever the case was, around that anchor were two complete biological architectures.
One was compact, and one was expansive.
When she shifted forms, it was not remodeling herself or rebuilding.
She was switching priority layers within that anchor.
That was why the reversion was smooth. That was why there was no backlash or energy requirent.
This anchor was precisely the reason she could do it.
In simpler terms, Alissa had a special power within her DNA structure that allowed her to transform and that he needed to build his own anchor if he wanted to transform into a dragon himself or anything else first.
And quite honestly, he already had an inkling of how it was done. He had the complete structural engineering of the True Source Dragon after all.
But, in short, it all relied on Vital Essence!
Vital essence was far more important and serious than he had thought.
It was sothing far more potent than anything he had ever seen.
It was the power that led to endless possibilities.
Transformation could be achieved through vital essence, and that anchor being created was also a transformation as well.
This opened up a new possibility for Grey.
"But before I try anything, I should comprehend her technique."
The next mont, he saw changes happening with Alissa again.
A dense cocoon rapidly ford around her body once more, layers of intertwined source energy and frost law weaving together as they sealed her completely within. The barrier was far thicker and more intricate than before, pulsing rhythmically as if responding to so deeper internal command.
The instant the cocoon stabilized, insight began to surface. fragnts of understanding flooded into his perception, one after another about the transformation technique she utilized.
