However, just then, Finality’s voice rushed into his mind with a rare sense of urgency.
[Your power is not Creation, Grey. The ability to create sothing... that is just the positive side of the coin.]
[I do not know if it is the exact sa power, but I believe only testing it out can tell you the absolute truth.]
[Have you tried erasing sothing with your power?]
"Erasing?" Grey was genuinely baffled.
His Esper ability was originally classified as ’Shapeless’. It had no true form, no inherent structure, but as long as he actively willed it, he could bring anything to life.
"My will?" Grey muttered unconsciously.
His massive mind fluctuated violently as he locked his gaze onto the delicate teacup currently in Alan’s hand.
For a split second, static and localized glitches erupted right across the fabric of reality as an absolute, incomprehensible power completely enveloped the teacup Alan was holding.
The following mont, it simply disappeared.
Bzzt!
The following instant, the world violently flashed black and white. All of Grey’s terrifying ntal power completely emptied out in a single fraction of a second. As if skipping through ti, Alan simply sat there with his hand resting empty on the table, looking at Grey in mild confusion.
"What happened? You haven’t answered my question. Is your ability the power of creation?"
"Huh...?" Grey looked at Alan, his expression turning deadly serious. "Alan, what happened to your teacup?"
"Teacup...? What exactly is a teacup?" Alan tilted his head and asked with genuine, unfeigned ignorance. "Is that a term related to your power, Master Grey?"
"..." Grey fell into a dead silence upon hearing this.
Grey imdiately connected to the cosmic archives of the intranet and silently searched up the exact term "Teacup".
It ca back with absolute zero results.
He then violently swept his terrifying consciousness across the entirety of the Nexus Domain. The colossal computational power of his source rapidly went to work, desperately trying to lock onto a target that Grey vividly rembered but the world apparently did not: A simple teacup.
In this massive world, teeming with countless billions of people, there was not a single teacup in existence.
A freezing chill ran straight down Grey’s spine.
He had co to a terrifying realization.
He had literally erased the physical item ’teacup’ and the very conceptual term ’teacup’ completely from reality and the universal dictionary. Absolutely no one rembered it anymore.
’Hey Finality, Heavenly Dao. We are kind of in a bizarre situation right now,’ Grey called out to the ancient voices in his head with clear urgency.
[What happened?] they both asked in perfect unison.
’I used my power exactly as you just ntioned, Finality,’ Grey replied hastily.
[Huh? What power?] Finality’s completely baffled voice transmitted through his mind. [The power of creation? Yeah, I just saw you manifesting those birds. But I didn’t ntion anything else to you.]
Grey fell dead silent upon hearing this.
Just then, his dormant Chaos Lotus stirred violently.
[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By successfully understanding the negative aspect of your Esper ability "Shapeless," you have understood its absolute true nature.]
[It is the beginning and the end of all things. Nothingness.]
[Your understanding over your ability "Nothingness" increases by leaps and bounds.]
[You have acquired the learned ability: Existence Erasure]
"Chaos Lotus." Grey heaved a massive sigh of relief upon reading the system ssage.
He was incredibly relieved. At least his supre Lotus managed to notice the reality-altering change. It gave him a solid anchor of security in this madness.
Literally everyone had forgotten about his recent action, completely including Finality, the very entity who suggested it! This was far beyond his wildest expectations.
So far, he had been thoroughly neglecting his Esper power. But its absolute negative aspect could literally erase concepts from the fundantal fabric of existence!
Of course, just permanently deleting the concept of a teacup had instantly drained his entire reserve of ntal power. He couldn’t do much more than that for now. At least, not until he successfully transcended his current dinsionality. That was the clear limit he understood from the Chaos Lotus’s feedback.
The absolute power to erase anything I desire.
"What was that?" Alan asked confusedly, seeing Grey zone out.
"Nothing, Alan. I just suddenly got a profound flash of inspiration," Grey quickly recovered. "Anyways, do you happen to have that higher world treasure with you? I was really looking forward to it."
"It is sothing salvaged from the technical side of the broader universe." Alan smiled knowingly and reached into his spatial storage, bringing out a small, intricately carved tallic bracelet. "It is a specialized artifact that allows you to tap directly into a highly specific set of powers called Source Magic."
"What?" Grey was even more surprised now. "Source Magic? Is this sothing directly from the higher worlds?"
"Well, you could say that." Alan nodded. "This bracelet contains several distinct Source Magics. They are extrely potent, and ancient legends say that originally, only the primordial Chaos Race could utilize them. This specific bracelet was forged by a supre expert of the cha Layer, who scoured the deepest depths of the information layer to uncover all these lost Source Magics. But only a select few individuals in existence can actually activate it. The cha Race themselves absolutely cannot use it."
"The Chaos Race?" Grey imdiately beca highly interested.
"Yes, the Primordial Chaos Race. They were the supre beings that existed during the immorial epoch, right at the very birth of the endless reality. This was way before the grand descension of the gods and the True Source beings. There are so lingering rumors that they are just a small fraction of a much bigger presence existing in the Ascendancy Domain, but they absolutely did exist, and this Source Magic is the direct result of their ancient powers."
"The legendary Chaos Emperor himself is heavily rumored to be soone belonging to the Chaos Race." Alan paused. "Of course, that historical truth is yet to be fully verified. So I cannot say much more about that."
"Interesting." Grey eagerly took the tallic Source Bracelet and injected his consciousness into it, beginning to scour through its contents.
He currently possessed exactly one Source Magic: ’Redline’. He had obtained it purely by chance and had never really bothered searching for more Source Magic again. That was primarily because he fundantally did not lack any destructive abilities.
But now, holding this ancient bracelet made his blood pump with excitent.
Imdiately, the nas and complex runic structures of several Source Magics vividly appeared before his mind’s eye.
