“I’m uncertain. But it shouldn’t have any major effects on us here. It is funny, though. That your Will now transcends Elysia for better or worse. I’d argue for the better. But that also implies the existence of Elysia’s systems in that world.”

Also implying that Elysia’s Will might also extend there. Then again… I guess Stars are like that, huh. Gods of Cognition too. Wait, doesn’t that an Stars can see now?

“As if they already couldn’t? I’m joking. It’s more or less a discrete thod of distributing your Will. Perhaps it was always intended?”

Maybe. Maybe not. This whole fate thing goes against what I believe anyway. Is it really fate if the world tries its damned hardest to make it reality? Chances are, it’s a Star or whatever pulling the Strings…

“Hm.” Nav audibly exhaled through her nose, amused by Frost. “You stole my pun. Also, keep in mind what Jury ntioned about Evelyn. She was visiting another world. You know what that ans? She can move through worlds.”

Haaah. Nav, I’m not a kid. I know what it ans. And look, I’d really like to just focus on my ho world, please.

Frost sighed. Make no mistake, she was impressed by this developnt. But she could not care less about another world, even if it happened to be Earth. Her ho was in Elysia. Full stop. Nothing could change that anymore.

“That’s fine too. But you lack ambition. First, we rule Elysia. Then, we invade other worlds beyond the Expanse–”

With the success of the Precognition Module, Frost continued developing the rest. Failures were expected, but she ca close with every attempt. By day eleven she had created the Nex Erasure Module, which was an object no larger than a thumb, and was shaped like a white eraser.

It was not the most useful Module, but it helped reduce the environntal Nex across the Nex galopolis. The last thing they needed were Corrupted sprawling through the cities, like how the Impuritas used to do.

Next up was Inflow Direct’s Aspect of Technology. This was a relatively straight forward one and only took her a day to finalize. It gave birth to the Skill Application Module – a tiny device that needed to be implanted into the pituitary gland, which would allow the Black Wings to utilize Frost’s Skills to a limited degree.

It was useful as a triumph card. It also granted Healers, whose only form of magic was Healing magic, access to elental magic alongside Brawler Skills.

Afterwards, on the seventeenth day, Frost developed the Dinsional Seal Module. This was a chain that glowed with purple, gold, black and red energy.

‘Actions’ was a broad term. It included the use of magic, as well as combat abilities, and even Arts. Certain devices could also be disabled through this Module. As for foreign interference, this included the use of CognitO Transceivers and Receivers, effectively shutting out communications.

More importantly, it disabled the use of the Counterfeit Coins.

By day twenty she created the Cognition Defender, a device that also needed to be implanted into the brain – the hypothalamus specifically.

Surprisingly, this also included Frost’s fear, though it only successfully censored the Lantern for five seconds at most. This Module also granted them CognitO Filters, which allowed for more covert operations if needed.

On the twenty second day, she dabbled in Beholder Carpalis’ Aspect of Technology and created the Faustian Bargain Module. It was a black glove with an elegant, golden pattern woven through its coarse fabric. Despite this, it was rather comfortable to wear.

Frost scratched her head, wondering how this would be surgically implanted into a Black Wing.

That’s a problem for them.

She shrugged.

There were two more Modules remaining. Justica Arms and Ti Reverberation. Frost had an idea of what she wanted for both Modules. The problem was that she was beginning to feel sluggish by day twenty-three.

While she had no qualms with exerting herself physically, she was still human on the ntal side as far as she was concerned. ntal fog clouded her mind the morning of day twenty-three. A string of accidents dominoed into lapses of judgent that Frost normally would not have made.

At one point Frost didn’t realize she was missing both her legs, or that she had been thrown across the room from an explosion. Just as she was about to comnce her five hundredth experint, a pair of hands appeared in front of her.

They aggressively ford a ‘T’.

“Tiout Frost. Don’t burn yourself out! The last two Modules aren’t going to run away. Why not take a break?”

“I really should, shouldn’t I? How long have I been at it for?”

“Five hundred and fifty-two hours. I counted!” Jury gave her a cheerful grin. “But at least it wasn’t all in a row! Need another bath? Wanna play with them?”

By ‘them’ Jury could only an one thing. She pulled up the loose shirt she was wearing, revealing her chiseled abs. Frost, being a connoisseur of muscles, jolted as she rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand. The flashbang caused her to stumble backwards, before she suddenly tumbled into Jury’s arms.

“… I’m just hungry.”

“Then you wanna do that? Joy’s asleep right now?”

“Hungry hungry. Food.”

“Aww– I an, I can make sothing nice! Gimmie a mont!”

It wasn’t like they didn’t engage in certain activities during the last twenty-three days. Plus, Frost spent at least an hour or two per day cooking for her wife and daughter. She couldn’t rember the last ti she gained a level in [Ho Cook], so she was surprised when she was now one level away from a Skill Mastery in [Ho Cook], as well as reaching the Second Milestone for her Cook Profession.

If she wasn’t so exhausted then she’d happily cook a delicious stew, or a burger made from Spiked Boar at. Her heart ached for Jury’s thoughtfulness, and she nuzzled against her collarbone. The rosy scent of her body, and the way the tips of her hair ticked her neck undid two weeks’ worth of frustrations.

“Could you give a mont first?” Frost quietly asked, almost begging Jury to remain. “Just wanna recharge.”

“Is it the bunny side of you that’s making you so needy?”

“I’m always like this, aren’t I? Got a problem? Huh?”

Not only was her desire to be loved amplified, but there was an odd, almost haughty side that the bunny-manifestation introduced. Then again, the animal that best represented pride in Elysia – outside of a bird – was the rabbit.

They were pacifists of course.

But that didn’t stop them from picking unwinnable fights. Suffice it to say, Jury loved this version of Frost. She was, in her own words, bullyable. But ssing with Frost was for another ti.

Right now, she needed to make sothing for her to eat.
